Just a short one here, but
it may be one of the most important.
My Squadron Commander is asking me to be active. How can I do
this?
Simple, do something!!!
…But to be more specific, I’ll give you the top 5 run down (it’s like Top
Of The Pops isn’t it (or the Billboard chart if your American (I don’t know
what it is in any other country)))
5. Submit something to
the newsletters
Write a story; draw a
picture; or whatever. If you can get your work into a newsletter for all to see,
then your Squadron Commander will love you. Not only are you being active, but
you’re promoting the squadron as well.

4. Make a website
Does your squadron or
flight have a website? If no, then why don’t you do it? Ask if you can make
the site, and if you can then again, your CMDR will love you. Ask you CMDR what
they want in the site and set it up.
If there are no sites to
make, then ask if you can help maintain the ones that are already there, or make
a site for yourself containing info about you. Tell your CMDR that you are doing
this, and while you’re there, you can also ask if a link could be put on the
Squadron site to your site.

3. Get chatting
Talk to the other people in
your squadron, and the entire EH. This can be done by checking out the chat
rooms on IRC, or keeping contacts on ICQ. There are also quite a lot of meetings
to attend, be it for the whole EH, your sub-group or squadron. Read the websites
and ask your superiors about these meetings to know where and when you have to
go.

2. Take part in a competition
There are lots of
competitions to play in, be they online or offline. Even if you don’t win
(though I have no doubt that you will at lest win a few games over time) you
will still have fun, and be active.

1. Play custom missions
Yes, at number 1, it’s
playing custom missions. The main reason for the EH existing, you can play all
of the missions that you can find at the EH Battle Centre (www.tiecorps.org/battles).
You get points for each mission you complete, thus showing your activity to the
whole EH, never mind your Squadron Commander.
