ACTIVITIES The Hammer's Fist is a group
focused on the life of a Stormtrooper, which is a foot soldier in the Imperial
Army. The Hammer's Fist in particular is a group of highly elite troopers
fighting in the name of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. This means our
primary activity involves the "first person shooter" and roleplaying.
Playing First Person Shooters
The Hammer's Fist was created for the FPS game genre. At its birth, there were
many who wanted to join the Emperor's Hammer but did not own or have interest in
flight sims or the TIE Fighter game.
The game platforms supported by the EH and all her groups must be Star
Wars-oriented. This means an outright Star Wars game (like Star Wars:
Battlefront II), or a game modified with Star Wars content (called a total
conversion). Non-Star Wars games may be played, but not in official club
functions. The Hammer's Fist supports the following FPS games:
- Star Wars: Battlefront II
- Jedi Knight
- Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
- Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Any game modified with Star Wars content
Roleplaying
The Hammer's Fist also has a strong following of members who roleplay as
Stomtroopers in the Star Wars universe. This can be accomplished through email
or message board run ons and individual fiction.
Webpage Design
Events and competitions, units and other situations all require webpages for
effective communication within the Legion. Making webpages is a good way to get
noticed and promote your own fighting unit.
Graphics and other Artistic Endeavors
Creating original HF-oriented graphics is always a way to contribute to the
Legion. It does not matter if you think you are the worst artist in the world,
there is never enough art in the Legion. We want you!
Operations and Competitions
All of the above activities can be done as individual efforts at any time.
Don't wait for some "official" event to come along to be active! When official
events do come along, it is always a big event. Official events fall into two
categories: Operations and Competitions.
Operations are the Big Events. They are always Legion-wide and frequently have
many different activities to encourage everyone to participate. Because they are
so complex, they involve many man-hours of preparation and do not occur more
than once every few months. Operations are always run out of the Commander of
Operations' office. Each operation has a ribbon awarded to all participants.
Competitions are more local events. They are usually at the battalion level
or below, pitting company against company or detachment against detachment.
Inter-fire team competitions can settle who is the best team in a detachment.
Competitions may be run by anyone and only require approval by the Commander of
Operations so they know what is happening in the Legion.
