Wing XIII
Report
02.18.01

MAJ Brucmack sighed as he pushed
another stack of papers into the wastebasket... Business in another dimension
had cost him some time recently, but he was through the ordeal and (mostly)
happy to be back at the old WC job.  A buzzer sounded and he got out of his
seat and strode down the corridor.

Arriving at the hangar bay, he saw a
shuttle arrive bearing the markings of the ISD Vanguard.  In the corner he
noticed Azazel, Mace, and Woobee slouching around trying not to be
noticed.  Hrm... I know that look.  I'll deal with them
later.

The landing ramp on the shuttle came
down and the newest Wing XIII Squadron Commander stepped into the hangar
bay.

"Greetings, Commander Aeron!" said
Brucmack.

"Uhh... Hi.  So this is the Grey
Wolf?  Hrm.. Thought there would be more people here to greet me," Aeron
replied.

Noticing the three slouchers creeping
towards the Vanguard shuttle, Brucmack was glad that they weren't greeting Aeron
yet... Though they would surely get around to it sooner or later, in their own
mischeivous way.

"Alright guys, he didn't see us!"
whispered Azazel, as Brucmack led Aeron towards the ship's residential
district.

"Yeah, this is all going just like we
planned... Good thing you found out this new commander was coming from the
Vanguard Woobee!" added Mace.

"Well, you know... outranking the wing
commander does have its advantages, sometimes," explained Woobee.

By this time they were underneath the
shuttle and began to busy themselves.  They had paid off the deck officer
to delay the off-loading of baggage and the shuttle's eventual departure for as
long as possible, so they were unhurried in their work.  Azazel got to work
opening the missile bay while Woobee and Mace hauled over two Advanced
Concussion missiles.  Azazel quickly used his force strength to switch the
two forward missiles with the custom missiles.  Their work done, they
busied themselves with replacing the missiles they'd taken from some other
TAs.
"You sure you wired those things
right, guys?" asked Azazel.

"Oh yeah, we'd never screw up
something like that... Or else we're going to be in deep trouble..." replied
Woobee.

* * *

"... and that's how we calculate the
surface area of an oblong bubble at room temperature at standard"

The lecture was interrupted by a
fierce bleeping across the bridge.  An ensign rushed to his station,
batting aside numerous technicolor bubbles to do so.

"Sir, we have two missiles coming
straight at the bridge, ETA... 5 seconds!"

Four seconds later, two things
happened.  An escape pod shot from the bridge of the Vanguard in time to
see two concussion missiles detonate metres away from the bridge.  Cursing,
MAJ Khadgar hailed a shuttle he saw closing in on the star destroyer.
"Errr... could you come and pick me up?  I was, uhh, inspecting this pod
and it jettisoned for no reason."

"Acknowledged," replied the relieved
pilot.

As the shuttle closed in on capturing
the escape pod, Khadgar noticed that the markings were strange...  As it
got clearer, Khadgar cursed again, this time with a clearer target...
(Woobee's finishing
touches)

Competitions

Yes! At last! Competitions!
:)

Week of
War/Vengeance Comp
Description:
This is basically a competition
regarding participation in the XvT and XWA Weeks of War.  View the website
for exact information, but this is the general idea:  Medals for the squad
with the highest participation!  Medals for the top three winningest
pilots!  Get out there and fly everyone, this is important to show that we
are the best MP ship in the ASF!  If you need to know how to get into Week
of War, mail me and I'll get you hooked up.

ASF Citation
Competition
Description:
Pretty much what it sounds like, an
ASF Citations race!  Each new citation a squadron gets in
their primary platform (i.e. XvT/BoP for our
ship) earns them four points, and all others earn one point.  Your squad
doesn't have six pilots?  No worries, Vit is going to the trouble of
assigning points for almost-citations! :)  Those squads will get half
points.  Awards are given to the pilot in the first, second, and third
place squads with the most BSF submissions towards citations.  So CMDRs,
get your pilots flying the right battles, and pilots, fly them!

Wing FREE-XvT #36
Comp
Description:
Fly FREE-XvT #36 and send your pilot
file to me!  The highest scorer will get an IS-SW!  If you wish to use
a score that has already been submitted, please forward me the BSF
approval.

Squadron performance in these
competitions will be critical in my decision for WC's Own next month!  Of
course, precedence is given to MP events, so focus on WoWs!
