Internet Officer
Report #13
2.26.2001 - FA Absolutek
<SALUTE>
This week, me and the newly appointed CA:IO, VA Ari pondered how to improve the
Internet Office. Here are some of the ideas that we came up:
-Award a medal such as the IS for the creator of the weekly SOTW
-Have a news update mail list subscription service like ImperialAcademy.org
-Have a form for nominations for CoE on the IO website so that people can
nominate those EH members who have continuealy supported website creation
-Have a banner exchange program on the IO website, and support it on other websites.
-Create an "Ask the Internet Office" column where EH members can ask the IO questions
about Internet related questions.
-Other misc cosmetic features for the IO website.
Me and VA Ari have also been looking into making a php'ized version of the old
Colossus Arena ladder for the EH Battle Groups. I'm also interested in
extending it to support multiple ladders for different groups (ex. squadrons,
Wings, ships etc.) who want something exclusive to their group. This would not
be meant to compete against the EH Ladder which our TO has been working on
for a long time.
In other news, IOA/COL Matir continues to work diligently on the EH Links Database
project, and thinks he will be done a beta test version in a week or two.
IOA/VA Quake just got back from Canadia on the 25th, and is still recovering. :-p
This week's Emperor's Hammer: Site Of The Week is: the BHG's very own Stalker
Shipyards Limited at http://ssl.emperorshammer.ca. A very fine example of PHP
coding.
I would like to note that there is a form for EH members to submit nominations
for EH: SOTW on the IO website. It can be found here:
http://io.emperorshammer.ca/sotw_nominate.php.
Respectfully submitted,
