CMDR/CPT Wil_Striker Reporting 2-17-01 for Samekh Squadron in Wing V
SQUADRON NEWS
Not much to report in terms of flying activity, especially since all pilots are holding their pilot files for the TC Wide FCHG Comp due to start any day now, but activity was up in other areas. J
Welcome CPT Psyko from Wing II, who has transferred to Wing V and Samekh to take the FL position in Flight 3!
LT Sueki Suezo was demoted from the position of FL for Flight 3 due to his consistent lack of activity and communication! Remember, if you want to lead, you must lead by example!
Special thanks to CPT Psyko and LT Soontir Fel for getting us two new citations this week! We are now up to three, but we still need more. Get to your fighters pilots!

WING NEWS
Wing V Returns to Strength:
Much to report this week as Wing V has bounced back from the recent traitorous actions of numerous pilots and reached to hit that 50 mark once again in our numbers! LC Proton has stated that he is excited about the prospects of reaching 60, 70, and finally the golden number of 72! Special recognition goes to CM RedTaz as he has worked hard to revitalize Mem Squadron and bring its numbers up quickly within his first full week of Command! Well done Commander!
Weekly Wing V Meetings:
Wing V will start having weekly meetings each Saturday at 1300 HRS CST in the Airlock! All pilots are welcome to attend, although the primary purpose of these meetings are for Command purposes, all pilots are welcome to inject ideas or thoughts during the meetings.
HEAVY ROCKET RUMBLE:
Competition Chairman: WC/LC Proton/Wing V/SSSD Sovereign

Pilots will engage in several competitions this month in an event
intended to generate a lot of fun for everyone in Wing V.
Each pilot may participate in any or all events. Medals will be
give in each catergory, and consideration also will be give to
an overall champion who does the best in multiple categories.
The contest begins on Feb. 1st, and ends on Feb. 28th. Pilots are
to send all entries to LC Proton at Hullbreach@aol.com. Make sure
to CC: your CMDR on your entries, as he may need to enlist their
assistance in gathering any last minute stray results at the
end of the month. The CMDR's will also need to see your entries
for activity tracking for their reports and to file appropriate
BSFs.
CATEGORIES:
1. Flight - Fly TC-TIE Battle #128, "Operation Yridia Alpha".
Laserless scoring is in effect. Winner will receive the Iron Star - Bronze Ribbon, and the runner-up will receive the Iron Star -
Copper Ribbon.
2. Mission Creation - Create a TIE, XvT, or XWA mission or battle.
Missions MUST in some fashion include these elements in the
plotline: Wing V and Heavy Rockets. Winner will receive the Iron
Star - Nickel Ribbon, and the runner-up will receive the Iron
Star - Copper Ribbon.
3. Fiction - Write stories that include the elements of Wing V and
Heavy Rockets. Serious and humorous entries will be accepted. All
appropriate submissions will be collected and included in the Wing
V Chronicles. Winner will receive the Iron Star - Nickel Ribbon,
and the runner-up will receive the Iron Star - Copper Ribbon.
4. Graphics - Wing V could use some new banners. We are primarily a
Heavy-Assault and Assault Wing, so pilots should create full-size
or link banner(s) featuring Wing V, and some form of Heavy Rocket
involvement. Be creative! Winner will receive the Iron Star -
Nickel Ribbon, and the runner-up will receive the Iron Star -
Copper Ribbon.
5. Invite a Cadet - The Wing V pilot who invites the most involvement
from the M/PLT Daedaleus Cadets as guests in this contest may be
recommended to receive the Medal of Instruction. During your
recruiting communications with the Cadets, mention this
competition to them, and invite them to participate as a training
bonus. Cadets are not eligible for the main awards unless they
become active members of Wing V during the contest period. In this
case their submissions will be considered for the awards. In any
case, this will be a great experience for the Cadets and give
them a real taste of what active duty will be like!
6. Heavy-Rocket Rumble Champion - The overall winner will receive the
Palpatine Crescent for general excellence! - WC/LC Proton

High quality Fan Film here! Actually, a lot of it is showing off the graphic design talents of a team of two guys, but it's amazing what just two people can do! The film is completely shot on blue-screen and shows off stunning special effects and beautifully rendered digital sets.
It comes in low-res (320) and hi-res (480) versions which are pretty big in size, but worth the download!
