Imperial Navy Pilot Record
Lieutenant Commander Dae Cam (#5642)
Name: Dae Cam
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Current Assignment: Sadhe 2-1/Wing V/SSD Soverign
Scandoc Transmission Code: mtm685@hotmail.com
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Date of Birth: 08/02/1981
Place of Birth: Family Estates on Corellia
Marital Status: Single
Family: I am the only child from a relatively wealthy Corellian family. My mother is a chemical engineer, and though she has held several different positions throughout her life, she is currently employed as the head of development for a relatively minor pharmaceutical company. My father, now deceased, worked as a contract test pilot. His name was well known throughout the scientific community, and he was often hired on contract by companies such as the Corellian drive yards of Seinar Fleet Systems to test fly and evaluate new designs. However, in an accident involving a new model craft based upon the Skipray Blastboat, a confidential malfunction caused the craft’s destruction as it attempted to enter hyperspace, killing him and his co-pilot instantly.
Social Status: Wealthy
Quote: "With knowledge, comes civilization. Without knowledge, we are naught but shadows in dark a galaxy."
Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: When I was a child, my father owned many antique atmospheric vehicles that he would take me in and fly. As a result, I quickly developed a love for flight. When I was a young adolescent, he began to teach me to fly these planes, and when I showed an instinctive knack behind the stick, he began to teach me in more advanced planes and even our family’s private space yacht. It was from him that I gained my skills as a pilot. From my mother on the other hand, I inherited a keen mathematical mind. Although I loved flight, when my father died in the hyperspace accident, I was affraid to fly for quite some time, and thus decided to follow nearer to my mother's career choice rather than immediately to my father's.
Significant Events of Adulthood: Internship with Seinar Fleet Systems, the significance of which is mentioned later in reasons for joining the EH, and of course the act of joining the EH itself.
Alignment and Attitude: I have vowed to totally dedicate my life to the empire and the pillar of human civilization which I believe that it represents. The current galactic government, little more than a ragtag band of rebels and barbarians, is leading the galaxy into darkness and chaos. They must be stopped at all costs.
Former Occupations: I was formerly a student of Electronic Engineering and Computational Science. At the time that I joined the Tie Corps, I was in my third year of study, doing an internship with Sienar Fleet Systems.
Hobbies: - Piloting (both antique atmospheric vehicles and modern space craft)
- Tinkering (both mechanical and electronic)
- Slicing
Tragedies: There were two major tragedies in my life. The first, when I was 15, was my father’s death. The second, just recently, was when I was interning with Seinar Fleet Systems. The tragedy was the destruction of the research facility to which I had been posted and is described below as the reason for which I joined the EH.
Phobias and Allergies: While I am generally in good health, bereft of allergies, and have always believed in stoicism, every time that I enter hyperspace, I remember my father's tragic death and feel my stomach lurch.
Personal View of the Empire and EH: It is my opinion that the Empire must regain power in the galaxy to both preserve and expand human knowledge and understanding, and most fundamentally, civilization. The rebels are nothing more than blind barbarians, led by alien motivations that few understand. They are destructive and will lead to the fall of our great civilization. As such, it is imperative that the EH assert itself as an imperial force rather than a petty warlord's army, like Zinji's, and expand to slowly regain what has been lost. Without such a strong imperial presence, human civilization would crumble under the alien leadership of the rebels.
Reason for enlisting in the EH: While interning with Seinar Fleet Systems, I was assigned to a relatively obscure research facility. The staff there was working on a new AI to be used in the TIE spacecraft, and were very near to completion when I arrived. After a few months, the AI was completed and installed in a TIE Advanced. However, due to the remote location of the outpost, there were heavy personnel shortages, and we lacked a test pilot. Eager to prove my use to the senior researchers, and having flown all my life in ships ranging from antique atmospheric craft to my family's luxury yacht, I volunteered to test the AI's capabilities. The tests went poorly, and although the AI was able to manoeuvre well, it plotted and executed hyperspace jumps far slower than we predicted. This as it turns out was all that saved me. Even as we were finally decelerating from light speed, the AI informed me of an unknown capital ship leaving the system that we were entering. When I returned to the facility, anxious to see who the mysterious visitor had been, I found it scored from an orbital turbo-laser bombardment, and found the landing pads little more than craters. I quickly came to the conclusion, one later verified through some of my family’s contacts, that the ship had belonged to the rebels, and that they had intended to destroy the ship, the AI, and the pilot who had flown it. If the rebels ever discovered that they had not destroyed us, I would be hunted. Because of this conclusion, I left for the outer rim to decide upon the best course of action, away from the galactic core. There, I heard tales of the deeds of the EH on the local news nets, and decided to enlist and to fight against the rebels who were so willing to destroy the knowledge, the concrete representation of human civilization which I cherished.
