Commentaries
on the
New Jedi Order Series
"Very well written....although
the plot is getting a bit old as they keep stretching it out."
He continued to say, "Vector Prime was too much hype,"
and "Dark Ruin Two was excellent and the best of the bunch,
and it was about time a major character died." - Major Ace
Armageddon.
That's right were discussing
the New Jedi Order series on IRC! R.A. Salvatore and his book Vector
Prime started the series in 1999. The name R.A. Salvatore may
sound familiar; he is also the author of the massively popular Icewind
Dale series in the Forgotten Realms settings.
As of now there are five
books in this series: Vector Prime by R.A. Salvatore,
Dark Tide One: Onslaught by Michael A. Stackpole, Dark
Tide Two: Ruin also by Michael A. Stackpole, Agents of
Chaos One: Hero's Trail by James Luceno and Agents of
Chaos Two: Jedi Eclipse. The newest book in the series is
Balance Point. The series, for the most part, is very
well written. I did not entirely enjoy the books and it's best
to read them all to stay with the plot. |

Lieutenant Colonel Ford was
not so excited about the series: "It sucks. And it sucks hard."
Major Brucmack was heard to say, "May I second that, poor Chewie".
Ford continued, "And they killed him really lamely, too :P"
Brucmack responded with a resounding "Agreed :)" Astin
also voiced a similar opinion with, "It sucks". His rates
for a review were high, "Do I get a medal? :P". I continued
to be harassed, "Grah, now your using two of my statements.
I demand a medal!"
Brad Tack is a big fan of
the series and especially one of the authors. "STACKPOLE IS
AWESOME."
AD Starlion was able to give
a real opinion, "I suppose you could say they're more realistic....the
main characters aren't "supermen/women" who fly through
the galaxy, destroy the evil, and nothing bad happens...people get
hurt/killed, and several planets have been made completely lifeless."
Three statements Astin, three statements
In my opinion a well worthwhile
read, but not in many others.
