1.28.2001 - AD Kermee
Greets,
Congrats to SCOA Goatham who has been selected as the new NAVCOM of the naval corps. I understand Goatham will be leaving the office now, so good luck in working with the Navy. While I may take on another SCOA in the future, it will probably be for a different role. I will make appropriate announcements when the time comes and am not looking for expressions of interest at this point in time.
1. Patch Archive - Updates to other existing patches have been temporarily delayed until another small utility can be constructed as X-Wing Alliance has been found to do some unexpected things when reading certain files. This should be a temporary delay with an updated SSSD & MC-90 due as soon as it is completed.
Another feature for XWA patches being looked at is altering them with the pending updates such that it is possible to install every ship at once, something which is only now feasible.
2. SCO Web page - I've recently recoded most of the existing scripting for the page, and hopefully a design is coming along too. Additional content is being worked on, including a Science Office FAQ of which the proposed questions have been posted on the EH message board for comment/addition. Additionally, I'll be looking at gaining some publicity for the office outside the EH & posting more interesting slicing news stories from other pages once the SCO site is updated. I have a number of ideas and news site links currently, however suggestions are always welcome.
