The Hunt
ELT/Jodo Kast/Dragon/BHG-H
(pantera_63@hotmail.com)

Jodo Kast was wet and cold. He was after a rich merchant who had cheated the Emperor's Hammer. The merchant had sold the EH 2,500 useless blaster pistols and the Grand Admiral wanted his hide. Jodo didn't mind getting wet or cold as long as he was paid and he would be for this job. The man took a walk every night through his extensive property which included a small marsh. Jodo was waiting in the marsh. He was not in a good mood.
As he lay in wait for his unsuspecting victim he began to think. That was one thing he loved about the hunt was the time that he got to think. Tonight he was thinking about why he became a bounty hunter. He thought of many reasons but the foremost was for the love of the hunt.
When Jodo had been a young Gand his favorite pastime had been to collect stones and stalk little animals. His mother had warned him not to enter the mists to hunt but he disobeyed. He was almost killed when the prey he had been stalking had turned and attacked him. But in his first fight, at the age of 15, he defeated the predator and took it's hide.
Jodo decided to leave his homeworld at the age of 23. He wanted to be a hunter. His first job offworld was a professional game hunter on a distant Outer Rim World. He was making good money until a criminal organization moved in and took over the company he was working for. He talked his way into the organization and he began his life of bounty hunting.
He left the organization soon after he joined because he wasn't making money. He went solo for awhile and that was when he developed extreme love for the hunt. He had found out about a reward on a retired bounty hunter and he decided to take it.
The old man gave Jodo a run for his money but Jodo kept up with him. Jodo enjoyed the entire chase and when he finally caught the man he decided to let him go. The man was amazed and asked him why.
"I let you go because of the wonderful hunt you led me on."
Jodo and the old man concocted a story that Jodo could tell so he would get the reward and the man would be left alone. Keral, as the old man was called, gave Jodo something for thanks. It was a solution that when put on his Kast's exoskeleton made it much stronger for the rest of his life. His exoskeleton could now withstand a blaster bolt or a small explosion. Jodo never forgot the man.
Jodo continued working for himself and Black Sun until his love for hunting led him to join the Bounty Hunter's Guild. He worked hard and was now one of the Chief's of the BHG's Kabals. Arm of Cernun was flourishing under his command and his own career was taking off.
At the moment however, all he cared about was taking down this merchant and getting out of the swamp. He heard a noise and he became motionless. This was his favorite part of the hunt, getting the drop on your prey. He glanced to his left and saw the merchant walking down the path. Jodo fired a shot over the head of the man and watched him dive into the marsh. Jodo stood up and saw that the merchant was running. Good, thought Jodo, a hunt, as he lumbered after the man.
