Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: Born Valtane Gavryn Ricaud into the noble House Ricaud of Alderaan, Val's father was a staunch supporter of Senator Palpatine's efforts to return the Galactic Republic to its glory days. After fighting in the Clone Wars, Gavryn became one of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's many military advisors, and spent increasing amounts of time on Coruscant and Byss in the wake of the declaration of the New Order. House Ricaud's Imperial favour allowed most of the family to be saved from Alderaan's destruction, and it was only natural for Val, their eldest son, to enter the Imperial Academy as a naval officer shortly afterwards

Significant Events of Adulthood: After graduating from the Imperial Naval Academy, Val rose through the ranks on his own merit, gaining distinction on the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Illustrious during several campaigns on the Outer Rim, most notably in the Yavin, Hoth, and Bilaren systems. With help from his father, Val gained a transfer to the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Aberrant to be able to participate in the upcoming battle at Endor. Despite the loss of his entire squadron around him, Val was able to survive long enough to return to the Aberrant when the retreat order was given to the Imperial fleet. He served on-board the Aberrant for two years, before being cut off from his detachment on a recon mission in the Minos Cluster. He was picked up by the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Challenge, an elite Emperor's Hammer starship, and took the decision to join the EH. He served with distinction on the Challenge before a covert mission to Coruscant forced him out of the service, and he spent a year as a free trader. When the Emperor's Hammer was defeated by the New Republic at the Battle of Argimiliar II, Val -- along with several other traders and smugglers -- escaped the Rebel blockade carrying wounded soldiers and civilians back to Aurora Prime. For his actions during the battle, Val was given back his commission as an officer, and served again on the Challenge until he was promoted to command of Mu Squadron on the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Colossus, followed by a tour of duty as Commodore of the Relentless and Commander of the TIE Corps Battlegroups before being asked to take the Presidency of the Aurora Sector Corporate Division's military Direx Board. After implementing sweeping reforms to improve productivity and profit, he was promoted to the highest rank any officer can reasonably hope to achieve - Fleet Admiral. However, longing for the life of a starfighter pilot again, he relinquished the Presidency and returned to the Relentless to be a Squadron Commander, and later Wing Commander.

Alignment and Attitude: Confident, affable, facetious, and occasionally arrogant, whilst also hiding a deadly, dangerous, and driven interior. He is still unwaveringly faithful to those ideals and friends he has left. His experience, reliability, and good humour have given him an equal share of allies and enemies. He still remains utterly loyal to the ideals of the Emperor’s New Order.
