Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: Tempest was born on Carida as the second son of a drill sergeant at the local imperial stormtrooper academy. As he had few friends there apart from his 7 years elder brother, his childhood was strongly influenced by soldiers and their loyal service to the Empire. Although his father tried to keep his family out of his military business and didn't appreciate his sons to spend so much of their time with stormtrooper cadets, he couldn't really avoid this when living between barracks, especially because there were only few children in Tempest's or his brother's age.
So it wasn't a real surprise to anyone when Tempest's brother enlisted in the academy himself as soon as he was old enough. He made his father very proud by passing all the tests with flying colours, but also sad when he had to leave carida after his graduation.. As it was common practice with stormtrooper "greenhorns" who just came from the academy, he was transferred to a backwater planet in the Outer Rim whose name Tempest never heard before and also didn't want to remember any longer after his brother got shot there only about one year later in an attack on a rebel smuggler base.
Tempest, still a child to that time, was very sad about his brother's death and developed a strong hatred against the rebellion that murdered him. For his mother things were even worse. All the stormtroopers she saw every day on Carida made her think of her dead son. She wanted her husband to get assigned to another position, far away from Carida, but all his attempts were not successful. In the end, Tempest's mother left Carida without her husband, taking her son with her, to live on her old home planet.
Tempest's hatred for the rebels grew even more by this, for he thought that they did not only kill his brother, but also divided his family.
Significant Events of Adulthood: To pay the rebels something back of all what his family had suffered, Tempest now wanted to become a stormtrooper himself, but was rejected because his physical condition was considered as too weak. His mother was relieved, but Tempest was ashamed of his failure and didn't return home. For the following years he earned his money by occasional jobs in the Outer Rim Territories. He also learned to fly during those years, but mainly for smuggling purposes - which offended his sense of honour he brought with him from Carida, but kept him alive.
During this time he also got his pseudonym. To hide his real identity, both before the law and for the case that his father would hear of his criminal activities, he never mentioned his real name. After being "the nameless" for a while, his smuggler colleagues got used to call him "The Tempest", after his first own ship.
When the news from the Battle of Endor and Emperor Palpatine's death reached him, he was very upset about the incredible fact that a bunch of traitorous murders now called themselves the official leaders of the galaxy. He also wondered what might had happened to his father, but he didn't dare to search for him, for he didn't want him to know that his son had become a criminal.
The final turn in Tempest's life was when he agreed, in a rather drunk condition, to participate in a flight contest that the Mining Corporation of Sullust/Niemar (MSN) held every year. The deadly canyon which the participants had to fly through, simply called "the Zone" by most, was one of the hardest flight contests even in a shielded craft. By flying the course in a standard class imperial TIE Fighter which was so old that it more looked like a modern art masterpiece, Tempest caught the attention of a commander of the Emperor's Hammer TIE Fighter Corps, who tried to recruit him at once.
Tempest rejected at first. But then he thought of his father whose honour and ideals he so badly had treaten. And of his brother, killed by the rebel scum when doing his duty. And of his mother, sad and alone, with all her former happyness taken from her by the so-called "New Republic".
It took Tempest about half a year to settle his businesses and to leave his criminal past behind him.
Then he enlisted in the TIE Corps as "Cadet Tempest", a name nobody knew there. For the first time in his life, he knew what he really wanted to be:
An imperial starfighter pilot.
Alignment and Attitude: Tempest is a good pilot who does his duty well. He respects his superiors and follows their orders, except for the case that they are against his personal code of conduct which he learned from his father.
Former Occupations: Smuggler and mercenary in the Outer Rim.
Hobbies: Reading and computer programming
Tragedies: Brother's death
Phobias and Allergies: Twenty B-Wings having a lock on a mission critical craft
Personal View of the Empire and EH: Without the Empire and its powerful fleet, the universe will sink into chaos. As the past has shown, a government consisting of bureaucrats is not capable of action.
Reason for enlisting in the EH: There were several reasons for Tempest to join the EH. He wanted to leave his past behind, to be respected as a good pilot and officer, to gain revenge for his brother's death, to help the Empire in its struggle against the rebel insurgents and to honour his father.
Other Comments: As Tempest is ashamed of his criminal past and does not want to risk his family's good name, all names of persons and planets, except for his home planet, have been avoided.
