Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: The most important event in Sasquatch's early life was a family vacation to tour the Emperor's Grand Palace at the very center of Imperial City on Coruscant. He was awed by the splendor, beauty, and utter functionality. He notes that he and his family, along with many other tourists, were lucky enough to see Darth Vader arrive at the palace. This positive first impression would later blossom into a deep love of the Empire and Imperial rule. When he was old enough, he applied to the stormtrooper academy on Carridia, his dream being to join his brother, Conscarr. However, he was denied entry. Crushed, he instead found work as an Imperial aid within the palace.
Significant Events of Adulthood: After the death of the Emperor, Coruscant was in chaos. It was the kind of advantage that the Rebellion had been waiting for. They soon stormed the planet, bringing death, taking prisoners, and raising the flag of the 'New Republic'. Sasquatch was working within the palace when the invasion came; he was surprised to find his own brother as one of the troops assigned to the suicide mission of defending the palace from the Rebel onslaught. They knew it was a lost cause, the Rebels outnumbered them greatly. But still they fought, fueled by rage and the love of their home. Sasquatch found a sidearm at one point in the battle, and joined his brother on the front lines. For that one instant, his dream came true. He was an Imperial Stormtrooper.
But then the world came crashing down, as one fateful shot rang out. Conscarr was mortally wounded, and all Sas could do was hold his brother in his arms as he died. He has since been haunted by his brothers last words :
"Don't let it end this way ... don't let them win, Reznor. Do you hear me? Don't ... let them ... win ..."
The palace was eventually taken, and the Imperial monitoring system was shut down. No record for Imperial service exists for Sasquatch in the twelve years following that incident. Years later, he would show up battered and wounded on an Emperor's Hammer medical ship.
Alignment and Attitude: Fiercely Imperial. Deep-rooted hatred of the New Republic, and rebellion in general. He blames the "selfish non-conformity" of others for many of the hardships he has endured.
Former Occupations: While no official records or documents exist for Sasquatch's twelve year absence from Imperial service, we have tried to piece together a partial history for this time.
According to his own words, Sas left Coruscant in the company of "rather unsavory characters". At the time, he was simply glad to have escaped the Rebels.
Evidence shows that, shortly after fleeing from the Rebel occupation of his home planet, he was conscripted / enlisted in the para-military smuggling group Black Quasar. He served in that organization for several years, watching the slow decay of his beloved Empire. It was here that he discovered a hidden talent ... he may not have been able to be a stormtrooper, but he had a natural ability when it came to piloting starfighters. He worked his way up into one of the most notable Black Quasar fighter squadrons, and saved up enough credits to purchase his own T-Wing, which he extensively modified and flew into combat. Sasquatch was notorious for refusing to obey any order which called for him to attack or harm any Imperial property or citizens. He thinks that this is what kept him from going any further than a Flight Member position in that organization. He earned a reputation as a 'Hot Dog', and often flew with little regard for personal safety. This oversight would soon help shape his destiny.
On Imperial Standard Date 9804.05, a small Imperial medical frigate received an urgent distress call from a lone unmarked T-Wing. This craft was granted permission to land, and it was discovered that it had two occupants. The first was an unidentified, female Black Quasar pilot. She refused to release her name or involvement. Her concern was the second occupant of the craft, which was a severely wounded Reznor "Sasquatch" Chonchulak.
She claimed that, while flying a mission together, Sas had pulled 'one of his usual stupid stunts'. He had been caught in the hyper-wash of a fleeing strike cruiser, had lost all shielding and flight control, and had collided with an 'enemy fighter'. This had crushed and fused his canopy; unfortunately, the impact and ensuing spiral had triggered the auto-eject system. Sas had apparently over-ridden the safety protocols to gain more electrical power for the ship. The result was that he was slammed into the canopy at ejection speed. He was unconscious, bleeding heavily, and barely alive.
We now know that this occurred during the Black Quasar invasion of Zhodaari Pirate space. That battle is generally regarded as one of the most useless and bloody to have ever taken place, as both sides suffered heavy losses and neither gained an advantage. The unidentified female pilot, upon seeing Sasquatch's injury, had popped her canopy and brought him inside. Fearing neck or spinal damage, she kept the environment in the cramped little ship at zero gravity. She went AWOL from Black Quasar and fled, looking for the nearest advanced medical facility. What she found was an Emperor's Hammer medical ship.
Her quick thinking probably saved Sasquatch's life, because he did indeed have extensive neck and spinal injury. The Imperial medical crew managed to stabilize him, however. Records show that the unidentified pilot visited him after the initial surgery, and asked the stormtroopers to wait outside while they spoke. They complied, warning her that she had five minutes, and not fearing for the patient's safety -- after all, this was the person that had saved him. We have no record of what happened during those five minutes, because her first action was to disable the Imperial security system in that room. What we do know is that, 15 minutes later, she blasted her way out of the hangar and disappeared into hyperspace. Security on board that particular ship suffered many harsh reprimands following this incident.
Sasquatch underwent many corrective surgeries for his neck, spinal cord, and upper back. He was left paralyzed from the waist down, but a cybernetic replacement vertebrae, as well as extensive micro-surgery on his upper spinal cord, have allowed him to regain control of his lower body and continue to lead a normal life. He did not leave the medical ship for many months. When he did, Imperial Intelligence was waiting. Much of what we know about Black Quasar was 'extracted' from Sasquatch following his time on the medical frigate. He was listed as a low-priority threat, and even managed to regain his Imperial citizenship. And more importantly, he had found a hidden, elite branch of the Empire he loved so much ... a part that had not fallen off into decay.
He soon applied to become an Emperor's Hammer TIE Fighter pilot, to put his new starfighter skills to work ... to serve in the Imperial armed forces, just as he had always wanted to. Again, he was denied. Crestfallen, he continued to apply, until he was finally accepted. On 9806.18, he officially began his career as a trainee assigned to Daleth Squadron in Wing III, on board the SSSD Sovereign. He has since risen through the ranks to take command of his own squadron -- Psi, in Wing II. Also, it is somewhat ironic that he was eventually promoted to Wing Commander ... of Wing III.
Hobbies: Computers, books, piloting, fencing, betting on pod races.
Tragedies: Loss of his brother and home world to the New Republic. Critical, life-changing injury, inflicted while in service to Black Quasar. Possible romantic interest / loss with unidentified female pilot who brought him to EH territory. Recent discovery of his parents death after they were captured trying to escape from Coruscant. Loss of contact with his two sisters, due to the Rebel assault on Coruscant.
Phobias and Allergies: Sasquatch has a strong fear of deep water and large crowds. He also has lost faith in the auto-ejection system on fighter craft. He prefers to manually eject ... but even more, he prefers to not eject at all.
Personal View of the Empire and EH: For Sasquatch, it is quite literally a dream come true. He is unquestionably loyal, and will fiercely defend what he considers to be "the last vanguard of true Imperial rule".
Reason for enlisting in the EH: To fulfill his lifetime dream of military service to the Empire. Also, to a more personal degree, to atone for the time he spent in Black Quasar.

Personal Craft: Modified TIE Advanced (M-T/A) Silhouette -- Sasquatch was informed that it is against regulations to modify an Imperial fighter craft, so he saved his paychecks for nearly a year and purchased one for himself. As a result, the Silhouette is one of only a handful of 'modified' fighters. Sas takes great pride in the fact that he has been able to install a pair of SLAMs on this craft, which enable it to fly at nearly double the speed of a normal TIE Advanced. He is not as quick to point out that using the SLAMs often shorts out the control grid. The Silhouette is his baby, and most of his spare time is spent tinkering with the ship, always trying to get a small boost in power, to install a system that was not originally designed to work on a TIE craft, or to get the SLAMs to function without blowing the main grid.
SoroSuub Luxury Yacht 3000 (LT3000) Comet -- A Christmas present from Daleth Squadron and the rest of Wing III, the Comet is a normal luxury yacht. She was captured from a New Republic diplomat during a raid on a Rebel supply base. There are no weapons on the yacht, which make it useless for combat situations. However, it is equipped with a shield generator and beam weapon compartment. They don't call it a 'Luxury Yacht' for nothing ... the Comet is great for relaxing trips through EH space. |
Other Comments: His unusual callsign, "Sasquatch", was earned while in service to Black Quasar. It is a direct reference to his height. He does not react well to any use of his birth name, 'Reznor'. Records indicate that he has only allowed the unidentified Black Quasar pilot to address him by that name. Our best guess is that the use of the name 'Reznor' holds only painful memories for him ... memories which he tries to bury, and does not want to be reminded of.
