Quote: ‘Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, strike like a thunderbolt!’

Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: When Commander Thrawn was exiled in from the Chiss Expansionary Defense, the calculating tactician set up his own private fleet to wait for his return to Chiss space years later. His Household Phalanx (legion of guards assigned to a noble in Chiss culture) went with him and set up a compound on the planet Nirauan, an unassuming planet in the Gradilis sector. The compound became known as the ‘Hand of Thrawn’, as its five towers resembled an outstretched hand reaching for the heavens. Many young Chiss who supported Thrawn’s ‘outlandish’ ways left their posts and homes to come with Thrawn. Two of these were the itar’eins, Jath’rhel’itar’ein and Sunn’ral’itar’ein, a recently married couple. Threl and Nrali (their core names- shortened version of the cumbersome Chiss names) had been with Thrawn’s Household Phalanx all their adult lives. Threl was the commander of Chyan Squadron, Thrawn’s personal escort unit, and Nrali was a technician working on the flagship of Thrawn’s personal fleet. Nrali had been pregnant with Threl’s child for many months before the move to Nirauan, and so a few months after the compound was settled down and everything in working order, young Sceth’khal’itar’ein, or Khalitar, was brought into the galaxy. When Thrawn left his people to join Palpatine’s Empire, in the ‘Unknown Regions’ (well to the Chiss Empire, anyway) he put Threl in command of the Hand of Thrawn compound, to oversee the maintenance of the base in wait for Thrawn’s return in years to come. Being Chiss, extremely noble and loyal people, there was no complaint or power struggle in the twenty or so years it took for Thrawn to finally return. During this time Khalitar had grown into a man, and he learned everything there was to know about combat and tactics from his father who taught a select group of young Chiss, mostly sons and daughters who were being groomed to replace their parents in retirement. He had served as a pilot in Chyan Squadron, gradually moving up to command the squadron, before being put in charge of the entire compound’s security at the age of 20. Little did the Chiss know at this time that on the very eve of Khalitar’s 20th birthday, a large milestone in a Chiss lifetime, that the Emperor of the not-so-distant galaxy in which their very own leader Thrawn had been the past decades, had been murdered in a callous Rebel attack on his half-completed battle station.

Significant Events of Adulthood: After an uneventful 4 years in charge of the security of Thrawn’s Household Phalanx, the only major event being an attack by the main Chiss Empire who declared them renegades and traitors, they finally received word of Thrawn’s return. The now-Grand Admiral came home to Nirauan proudly, a return fit for a king. He was accompanied by a fleet of 8 ISDs along with many VSDs, CRVs, and other such craft. He ordered a grand assembly in the main chamber of the Hand of Thrawn compound, where he regaled his supporters with tales of his adventures. Of his beginnings in a secret training installation for advanced tacticians, of commanding behemoth Imperial Star Destroyers, of the world Coruscant with its total urbanized landscape, and of his journeys through the Unknown Regions on his way back to Nirauan. He did not, however, mention that his mapping assignment in the Unknown Regions was punishment for questioning the Emperor Palpatine’s judgment publicly. Thrawn had brought down the command officers from his fleet and introduced them to his Chiss command officers. The situation was rocky at first, but the compound’s bar proved the theory that a good drink bridges any cultural difference. Now, Khalitar had been remaining pretty quiet throughout all this, because he didn’t even know Thrawn before he left Chiss space, and he felt rather out of place. But that evening Thrawn approached him privately in his office and had a long chat with him. About how impressive it was that such a young officer had kept the Household Phalanx in such good order. He went on to tell Khalitar more about the Empire of the unknown galaxy, more than he told the rest in the gathering. Khalitar was fascinated. He wanted to see this galaxy, and get away from the one drab planet he had spent his entire life on. So Thrawn arranged for his executive officer, General Voss Parck (the very man who had ‘discovered’ Thrawn in the first place) to take command of the compound. Parck got an immediate promotion to Admiral in Thrawn’s own mini-empire. A fighter ace, Baron Soontir Fel, was brought in from the crumbling Empire to lead the Phalanx’s military and the fleet hidden in the underground hangars below the compound. He too got a promotion.. to General. Thrawn felt it was necessary to bring in these humans from the central galaxy because working with the Chiss, combining their collective knowledge of both the galaxy and the Unknown Regions, together they could forge a possible defense against the untold terrors that lurked in Wild Space. Khalitar went to the vast underground hangar of Nirauan- big enough to fit an SSD if one wanted to- and prepared a light transport craft to take him to the Empire. His parents did not mind him going- as they planned to live out a quiet retirement on Nirauan and maybe serve as advisors to the new Human-Chiss cooperative, and he had had no time to marry, so there was no family to leave behind. He could just uproot himself and replant somewhere else. Thrawn, however, advised against taking a Chiss craft. The Empire was likely to impound him and study his body and technology. So instead he took an Imperial Shuttle from Thrawn’s fleet and journeyed to the Emperor’s Hammer, a secretive fleet on the Outer Rim that only Thrawn and a select few knew about. Those ‘select few’ had likely had the shiznit kicked out of them when they got to know too much about the EH. GA Thrawn hung around the Hand of Thrawn for awhile, sorting things out and after leaving 2 ISDs, 4 VSDs, a small fleet of FRGs and CRVs and the usual support ships to add to his private Phalanx, went off to finish up his final mapping route of the Unknown Regions before he could return to the galaxy. But not before leaving a detailed database of every single piece of information he had acquired while in the central galaxy and the Unknown Regions, plus a clone of himself- timed to activate ten years after his death, in response to a signal from a small machine attached to Thrawn’s heart that stopped when and if the man died. Khalitar arrived at the headquarters of the Emperor’s Hammer, and sought an audience with GA Ronin. He presented the EH Fleet Commander with a coded message from Thrawn, proving that he had the recommendation of the man himself. Ronin, who was a Chiss too, welcomed Khalitar into the EH with open arms. Khalitar was put in training on the Platform Daedalus, and after some initial troubles getting to understand the difference in culture, technology, and routines, he settled in fine and graduated at the top of his company. He entered active service as a fighter pilot in the TIE Corps, and held various positions, eventually commanding a squadron. During his time in the Corps, he was noted by some of his peers to have Force potential. Now, the Force was completely unheard of to the Chiss, so Khalitar wondered what the heck that was all about. His curiosity led him to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, which he entered to learn the mysterious ways of the Force he knew nothing about. He served in the Sith Order, but after a while found he was not quite up to the skill and Force-level of that Order. So instead he entered the Krath, a more scholarly group better suited to someone with slightly weaker Force powers than others. There he became a Krath Priest, and became addicted to the literature, art, and culture of all the galaxy’s many species. After a long sabbatical solely as a Krath Priest, Khalitar heard word of Thrawn’s death at the hands of his own bodyguard, after the treacherous and deceptive lies told to the Noghri warriors which Thrawn controlled, by Republic President Leia Organa Solo. In his anger and despair he decided it was time to shrug off the robes and re-don the flight suit, returning to the SSD Avenger on which he had once commanded Butcher Squadron. Still today, though, he spends a lot of his free time studying the history and cultures of his new galaxy, and writing essays and treatises on his thoughts. On the Avenger he serves in Slayer Squadron as the XO and Flight Leader, content among other Force users who are also never-ending in their quest for power, challenges, and knowledge.

Alignment and Attitude: Pro-Imperial. From his observations as an outsider, he has concluded that the New Republic runs things sloppily and leaves loose ends dangling about, which will in the end be their unraveling.

Former Occupations: Pilot in Thrawn’s Household Phalanx, Commander of Thrawn’s honor-escort squadron, Head of Security at the Hand of Thrawn facility.

Hobbies: Studying galactic cultures and history.

Tragedies: None at all. Khalitar has led a rewarding, fulfilling, adventurous life and he has no regrets.

Phobias and Allergies: Allergic to chak-root.

Personal View of the Empire and EH: The Empire is the only truly stable government to ever rule this galaxy. With the threats lurking beyond the galactic border, this only chance the galaxy has at survival is to be completely unified and to fight as one. The Empire offers the best chance of this unity and ultimate survival.

Reason for enlisting in the EH: To follow in the footsteps of my idol Thrawn and gain knowledge of this fascinating galaxy.
