Code Blue
House Gladius of Tarentum

A loud, lonely wail sounded through the Gladius base, startling the assembled Dark Jedi from their sleep. Over the darkened doors of the main hall, flashing blue lights began pulsing in tandem with the sirens, casting their eery blue light over the half-asleep faces peeking out their chambers.
Pounding footsteps sounded through the main hall, and Aari rushed through, shouting at every student she saw, waving a datapad madly, " Code Blue, people!"
Shoving an Acolyte -whom she tenatively identified as Nix Random- out of her path, she ran into Torq's chambers, slamming the datapad onto his bed, "Wake up! It's a Code Blue! We've got to get everything together!"
Glancing out the doorway, she caught sight of the familiar black robes. Taking a last, impatient look at the Aedile, she rushed back out the doorway. Shoving two flirting Acolytes away -once again identifying the young man as Nix- she grabbed Ciara's arm.
"Ciara, have you told everyone? We've got to warn them! Its a Code Blue!! I mean.. no one's listening!"
She threw Aari a patient look, "We don't need them; all we need is the Inner Circle."
Aari nodded, "Come with me. We've gotta get Oblindath and Kudos.. er.. Kryndath and Kidouses."
Side by side, Ciara and Aari ran down the main hall, skidding into Kryndath's room. Taking a quick glance at Kryndath, the scattered sheets of flimsiplast, and the stacked books, Aari grabbed the largest book, and threw it at his head. He jerked to the side, the book grazing past his head. Ciara grabbed his shoulders, shaking him violently.
"Krynnie, wake up! Its Code Blue! We gotta get Kudos!"
"Code Blue..?"
"Come on!" Ciara grabbed his arm, pulling him into the hall, Aari running at their heels.
Bouncing into Kidouses' room, Ciara shrieked at the Kudos Bar eating man, "Its a Code Blue!"
Frowning, Kudos and Oblindath shouted at the two girls in unison, "What the hell is a Code Blue?!"
Ciara pulled her own datapad out, scrolling down, "This has the list of all the Codes. A Code Blue is defined by.. a Quaestor that is on leave, addicted to spice, in a Mental Institution, and under attack."
Aari nodded, "Obviously, Kodiak falls under this Code."
Kudos glanced up, "Shouldn't it be a Code Rainbow?"
Ciara glared, :"Don't you EVER.. correct the Mistress. Its a Code Blue, and Kodiak is under attack. This means we have to do something.. Obviously.. no one else in Gladius cares what happens to him. So, once again, it falls to us to save the House.. unless of course anyone outside of our lovely phyle decides to crawl out of the Closet of the Damned, wipe away the bloodstains and spiderwebs, and join our prune forsaken mission.. So who's with me?"
"This is not a damn democracy!" Kryndath piped up.
"Hey, maybe those two stupid flirting Acolytes could come along! That Nix person looks like a good shield, for when the shooting starts," Aari grinned slyly.
Ciara rolled her eyes, nodding to Aari, "You're right, Krynnie. And I'm superior to every one of you in rank AND position.. PLUS I'm the Queen of the Eons, so I'm making this a direct order. We're going to this funny farm to save our dear, old, ailing, slightly tipsy Quaestor. Got it? Good." Ciara muttered under her breath, grinning. "I always wanted to say that. Man, I love having power.. I mean.. who ever thought of the day when I could give direct orders?"
Turning and running down the hall, they seemed to move as one entity, their physical movements almost as closely linked as the mental bond they held.
Jaya stumbled from her quarters, blinking sleep from her eyes at the phyle members were running past "Hey, what's going on?"
"Come on Jaya," Aari grabbed Jaya's arm. "We gotta hurry. Its a Code Blue. Ciara will explain on the way."
Ciara thrust her datapad at Jaya's fumbling fingers; she dropped it, and as she knelt to retrieve the pad, Aari hauled her up, growling, "No time, Jaya! Hurry!"
Shrugging to herself, Jaya joined the small mob of Dark Jedi running to the hangar bay. She stumbled slightly, and as the others rushed up the ramp, she picked herself up, scrambling after them. The ramp began to retract, and Jaya grabbed the edge, scrambling for a hold on the smooth metal. Ciara rushed forward, grabbing her arms and pulling her into the ship as the ramp slid close, inches from being sliced in half with the ramp.
Glancing out the shuttle viewport, Aari bit down on her lower lip. With luck, they wouldn't be too late to get Kodiak out of the Mental Asylum.
Nikolas Random stood silently to the edge of the corridor, flashing blue lights piercing the dimly lit main hall, as people all around were beginning to wake to the wailing klaxons. A Hunter had just shoved him out of the way en route to the Aedile's chamber, barely taking the time to acknowledge him, and he watched idly with a look of intense curiousity. He cast a rather unsure glance to Telona Murrage, the focus of his attention until the interruptions began.
He watched again as the Hunter ran past, and started off to follow her, motioning behind him for Telona to follow. He stopped at the corner of the corridor, listening to the conversations going on as the Hunter went to wake various people.
"Wake up! It's a Code Blue! We've got to get everything together! Ciara, have you told everyone? We've got to warn them! It's a Code Blue! I mean.. no one's listening!"
"We don't need them, all we need is the inner circle." Inner Circle, he though. Of course. The Mystics of the Black Arts, the house phyle. Widely reknowned, from what he'd heard.
Telona had caught up behind him, and she looked over his shoulder. "What's going on? What are they talking about?"
"Not quite sure... something's wrong, and I'd sure as hell like to find out."
He pushed her back, and leaned back against the wall as the Inner Circle of the Mystics of the Black Arts rushed past, on their way to the hangar bay. He stayed well back as he followed them, picking up bits of the shouting through the cry of the klaxon.
The hangar doors closed, and he could hear the outer doors retract as the shuttle lifted off, screaming at high speed into the upper atmosphere. He was about to turn to leave for the Aedile's chamber, perhaps to see if he could get some answers, but a glint of metal at the floor beside the hangar doors caught his eye as he turned his head. He made the quick few steps toward the door, and bent to one knee as he took the small datapad in hand.
The last page to be accessed was displayed, and he read bits and pieces of it as the sirens illuminated the hall. Telona stood a few feet back, hands on her hips, as she displayed a look of impatience. She blew a strand of hair from her face as she came closer. "Well?"
He looked up from the pad, and the pulsing lights revealed a face wrought with an intensely eager look to it. "Code Blue."
Telona's left eyebrow raised. "I beg your pardon?"
"Code Blue," he said again. "The Quaestor is on leave, addicted to spice, currently residing in a mental institution, as well as being under attack."
"mmkay...they have a code for something like that"?
"Says so right here. Take a look for yourself," as he handed the datapad up to her, rising to his feet. He stood silently as she accessed the page he was reading, grinning to himself as she nodded"
"I... see. So what does this all mean?"
"It means..." he said, still grinning, "that we lowly acolytes have been offered one of the biggest chances for advancement and recognition in our careers."
She looked at him rather oddly, her eyes narrowing. "So what do you plan on doing?"
A smirk. "Imagine... our ailing quaestor in dire need... and out of the blue come Nix Random and Telona Murrage riding to his rescue. It'll be grand, I tell you!"
She stood a moment in quiet contemplation. "Hm. Tempting, but how exactly do we go about executing this "rescue" operation? Namely, transportation...?"
"I had my own transportation from the academy, and it should still be operational, if the mechanics havent't gutted it for spare parts yet."
The same eager look that had so previously graced his face now came across Telona's. She looked down to the datapad, hefting it in her right hand. She tossed it into her left, then lobbed it to Nix. "What can I say? I hope you're a good pilot."
He snatched the datapad frm the air. "After you, my dear." He made a mock bow, causing the automatic doors to the hangar to swish open. As soon as Telona stepped inside however, he ran out ahead of her in the direction of a small personal shuttle, perhaps made only to fit a few passengers, and definitely not made to traverse the known galaxy on quests of opportunity.
From inside of his robes he revealed a small control pad, and, pushing a button, the aft door of the shuttle slowly lowered to the hangar floor. He climbed forward into the cockpit, settling himself into the pilot's seat, just slightly to port of the ship's centerline. Telona eased herself into the seat to the right of Nix. He had never quite figured out the purpose of that station.
Telona looked out the cockpit to outer hangar doors, still open form the recent departure of the Mystic's shuttle, a slightly anticipitory look on her face. "You'd better hurry, those doors are going to close any minute."
Nix was propped underneath the cockpit controls, laying on his back. "Give me some time, I think the 'maintenance' crews got to her before we did."
No sooner had he finished his statement then the load groaning of machinery filled the hangar. Both Telona and Nix looked up to see the hangar doors slowly closing in on themselves.
Telona's face betrayed her nervousness. "Hurry up and get this piece of junk started before we're trapped!"
Nix went back to work beneath the control panel, shutting out Telona's voice. A few stray circuits spliced here, a temporary power coupling bypassed there, and the cockpit lit up as the shuttle's lone engine began to hum with power. He raised himself back into the pilot's seat, pressed a few buttons, and a shudder passed through the cockpit as the repulsorlift engines kicked in, lifting the small craft from the hangar floor.
Telona flashed him an uneasy smile. "Right, now let's get a move on before we're crushed by those doors!"
His hands glided over the controls with confident ease. "As my liege commands, I shall obey." The ship kicked violently as he eased forward the throttle, and they raced out of the hangar mere seconds before the doors closed behind them.
The shuttle screamed through the upper ionosphere, and the tiny vibrations throughout the bulkheads smoothed out as the vessel leaned into the acceleration.
Telona relaxed, leaning back into her seat. "Took you long enough!" She turned to look at him, a smirk crossing her lips.
He shrugged. "Hey, I got us out, didn't I?"
She nodded, turning to look out the cockpit window to the endless field of stars before them. "But that's only the first part. We still don't know where they went. How are we supposed to find Kodiak if we don't even know where he is?"
Nix shifted in his seat, and pulled the datapad out from his robes. He tossed it into her lap. "It's all in here. You know, whoever came up with these alert codes was very specific."
She chuckled slightly. "Either that, or prescient."
"Indeed. I've already got the course heading input into the navigational computer. As soon as the hyperdrive is prepped, we'll be off."
She handed the pad back to him, and as he took it from her, he saw a tiny green light on the control panel flicker on and off. "There we are. The engines should be warmed up by now. We all set?"
Telona eased back into her seat, stretching her arms over her head. "Just give the word."
He smiled, nodding as his hands operated the controls that would engage the hyperdrive engines. "My dear, the word is given."
With that, the engine throttle was slid forward, and the tiny personal shuttle with its two occupants surged forward into hyperspace.
Kidouses sat down in one of the nice chairs on the ship. "Welcome passangers this is your ranking officer, Ciara. Your inflight music will be, "They're comming to take me away" by ..." At that point Kidouses tuned out the PA system. He opened up his bag and found his music player. He dropped the chip of "Rock the Party" in it. Kidouses walked over to Kryndath,
"Do you have any idea why they called it a code blue?"
"Not a bit,"
"I think they should call it code rainbow."
"ITS CODE BLUE FORGET THE STUPID RAINBOW." Ciara said as she walked in.
"Fine fine," said Kidouses, "I still like rainbow better" he muttered under his breath.
"What did you say?"
"I said 'I like rainbow butter,'"
Ciara sat down, fortunatly Kidouses was able to turn off him music before she figured out that he wasn't listening to it. Kidouses walked up to the helm and then back to the others.
"Ummm....I got a question,"
"What?" said Aari looking only mildy interested.
"It appears that there is a ship behind us,"
That got everyones attention. "I have felt that it contains two Acolytes. Not a part of our Phyle."
"Do you think they'll get in our way?" Aari asked Ciara
"I dunno, but we'll find out. But you know what that means..."
Everyone in unision, "NERF BATS!!!"
Nikolas Random and Telona Murrage had been tracking the Mystic's shuttle through hyper-space for at least the last hour or so. Or rather, the navigational computer was. Telona had gone into the aft crew compartment to rest, while Nix, still in the cockpit, sat in his seat, his back turned to the controls, reading the other special emergency codes displayed on Ciara's data-pad. There were a few that he took particular interest in...
CODE YELLOW: An emergency situation in the Dark Brotherhood in which the Master at Arms takes emergency leave for several weeks due to a router having failed on his ISP.
CODE GREEN: In which an Acolyte of the Dark Brotherhood is registered as an Apprentice for several weeks, in the event of a Code Yellow. Not considered a true emergency, and will be dealt with as soon as anyone gives a damn.
He continued to amuse himself with the various situautions, and he began to wonder whether these codes were spawned on the spot, merely to account for some inexplicable happening, or if someone was actually able to predict that something like this could possibly occur. He skimmed down the list, each code headed in the color it denoted. There was orange, red, and at least three other shades of blue.
He reached the bottom of the list, and was about to turn the data-pad off, when a sub-heading caught his eye. He pressed the button to display a new page, and had to do somewhat of a double-take, as the words displayed on the page were thus...
CODE INDIGO: Supplementary to a Code Blue, in which two opportunistic Acolytes of the Brotherhood charge off in the wake of the house phyle, in the expectation of beating out seasoned Jedi in rescuing the imperiled Quaestor, and are subsequently discovered in the act by members of the phyle.
Recommendations: IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION.
Nix barely had time to sweat, for soon the cockpit was awash with flashing lights, and a large indigo-colored beacon began pulsing on the control panel. He turned the pilot's seat to face out the forward viewport, and just had enough time to see their shuttle automatically drop from hyper space, with the Mystic's shuttle just ahead of them, preparing to come about.
"Shit."
Emerald orbs traveled over her gathered friends and fellow house members, sparkling with their usual dark humor, she wondered just how exactly it came to this. So their Quaestor went on leave for awhile, so they decided to hang out in his chambers, so they were just being themselves. They didn't really mean to find out that Kodiak was a spice addict. . .giggling slightly at her own thoughts, she shook her head. No, maybe there was just some confusion, though he had been acting a bit spacey lately. Maybe it was just age.
"So we're really going to a real life mental institution," Jaya asked as she bounced over to sit near Ciara, looking on with her own ever curious gaze.
"Yep! And I hear its really an Imperial institution where they brainwash all the new stormies! So I bet it not only has kewl padded cells, but neat torture stuff too!"
"True, its too bad we have to go for a reason. We should go for a pleasure trip," Ciara giggled slightly trying to hold back her real thoughts on why they should be going there. "It'll be pretty kewl I guess though... I don't really understand why anyone would be attacking an insane asylum anyway. Crazy people are such, peaceful people! Hehe, they probably just want to kill off the stormies before they recuperate from their little 'indoctrination'".
Jaya glanced up, "Wait a second.. this is a rebel fleet we're going up against? Now.. excuse me if I'm wrong.. but aren't we a bit small? Ya know.. there are what, six of us? And this is a fleet. A fleet of ships. And we're like.. sitting mynocks out here!"
"Jaya.. calm. We're just saving our poor lil Quaestor.from the hands of interrogators. We gotta make sure noone finds out about his.. 'connections,'" Ciara smirked, elbowing Jaya lightly in the side. "Eh? Eh?"
Kidouses stuck his head in the doorway, grinning widely, "EH? EH?"
Kryndath piped up from his seat nearby, "Emperor's Hammer? Emperor's Hammer?"
"Shut up! I'm trying to make a new DB!" Aari glared at the trio from her seat. "Can't I work in peace?? How am I supposed to work with all of you people staring at me??" Aari cringed, clutching her datapad tightly to her chest, eyeing Kryndath suspiciously.
Kryndath quirked a brow at Aari, shaking his head slightly, "Aari.. are you.. okay? Do you need a herring?"
Aari cackled, grabbing her datapad and rushing out the cockpit, Jaya following closely on her heels, "Waaaait, I wanna see the drop from hyperspace!"
Standing in the cockpit, Jaya watched the mottled lights of hyperspace melt back into realspace. As the stars elongated, then went back to pinpoints, Jaya leaned forward, watching with rapture.. Her elbows resting lightly on the edge of the control panel, she scooted forward, her arm hitting a big red button. . ya know.. the kind that say "Do Not Touch." She jumped back in surprise, falling into a seat. Ciara frowned in concern, as a flashing red light came on. The ship rumbled, and suddenly, the ship jolted to a screeching halt.
The two sisters had only a moment to turn to glimpse one another before sirens began screaming through the ship. They had another second to scan the control panels for what the trouble was, when suddenly a huge jolt ran through the ship, and they were slammed forward. Kryndath ran stumbling to the front of the ship, screaming something about another ship crashing into us. Jaya lurched in surprise, and as she fell back, her flailing arms hit another button; the kind that say "eject."
As the six were ejected from the ship, Ciara had a fair vantage point of the wreckage hat was once the two ships. In the distance, a couple other forms were drifting away from the destruction they had wrought. Ciara leaned back in her seat, a light touch of repulsorlift controls guiding her flight. In the corner of her eye, she could see the joined slag that had once been their prized shuttle and that Acolytes ship crashing into the side of the mental asylum. Hopefully, she mused, that building was made of Hijarna stone.
The terrain was rushing up, hard and fast, and as she glanced up to see the slightest shadows of the two Acolytes further back, she was slammed into the ground, a tad harder than she expected. It seemed to be raining Mystics, as the other five dropped down around her, Kidouses nearly landing right on her. Jaya stood up, looking about, noticing the rising peaks of the asylum in the near distance.
"We have to make it before those other two get there," Ciara commented.
"I think we can. They crashed further back, after all," Jaya grinned.
Jaya glanced back to her sister, a grin curled onto her lips. "Have a nice landing?" she asked, giggling slightly. Ciara nodded slightly, giggling herself.
"Yeah, really smoooth landing you 'ad there, Jaya." Ciara said, stepping up to stand at Jaya's side. Aari pulled herself up from the ground, and hopped over to where Ciara and Jaya were standing.
"What about ya, Aari? Nice landing?" Jaya giggled. Aari rolled her eyes and smirked to the two.
"Yeah, Jaya. Real nice landing. Learn to fly a ship and to press the right buttons next time." Aari grinned and followed after the rest of the Mystics as they started walking through the swampy forest like terrain.
A bit later, they were still making their way through the area, all of them covered in the mud like stuff, Jaya was covered head to toe due to her.. graceful movements of falling face first more than once into the swampy ponds. She glanced down to look at herself, and laughed a bit, skipping to a tree and climbling up nearly to the top.
"Heeey Jaya! Don't fall down..even though that'd be funny!" Kryndath yelled up at Jaya. She yanked a small branch free and tossed it down at him, grinning innocently after she hopped back down to the ground.
"Ooh. What'd ya see? What'd ay seee?" Aari said as she poked at Jaya's muddy form.
"The place where we're headed, duh! Its not that far you know.. c'mon.. I think we're almost there!" Jaya nodded a few times, picking up another stick and poking her twin a few times with it as Ciara walked in front of her.
Ciara picked up her own stick, turned around and thwapped Jaya with it in the face, laughing as Jaya shrieked, batting the stick away from her face and beating on Aari a few times with her stick.
"Jaya! Stop playing with sticks.." Aari giggled, nodding a few times. Jaya faked a pout.
"But..But.. Whhhhy, Aari?" She whimpered fakly.
"Because MUD is much more fun!" Aari shrieked as she tackled both Ciara and Jaya into the mud. The twins giggled loudly and Jaya two handfuls of mud, both being thrown at different people, Ciara and Aari.
After the muddy-stick fight, they all hopped to their feet and started walking again, getting closer and closer to their destination. Reaching their destination, Jaya looked up at the Asylum, a wide grin tugging at her lips.
In front of the six Mystics was the Asylum, Ciara grinned as she stepped up beside her sister, looking over the place.. the two pairs of green eyes looking at the shape, it looked like an old castle. Bars were over the windows, sharp pointy things were on the fences, or.. No. They WERE the fences. There were towers all over place, a bridge that most likely lowered down and the rustic chains that were near the main door.
Jaya grinned to her sister, motioning for Ciara to lead the way.
"Lead the way, Ciara.." Jaya grinned, moving back a couple steps to stand behind her sister.
Telona watched as the Mystics landed, wishing she was going to land closer. She landed with a roll and quickly got to her feet looking for Nix. He landed a few yards away from her.
"You ok Nix?"
He walked to her rubbing his head.
"Yeah I'm fine. We had better get going if we are to ever beat the others."
Ahead of them was a large swampy forest. Telona sniffed the air and turned to look at Nix. "They are a mile from us but this terrain is nothing compared to my homeland. We should be able to overtake the Mystics in no time. Follow me."
Nix made no move to object as they moved into the forest. After some time, Telona began to hear cries of laughter and decided to move off course to investigate. As they came closer Nix began to hear the voices.
"Wait here while I go see what that is." With that she leapt up into a tree and took off for the voices. After a few minutes she returned.
"Well what did you see Telona?"
She smiled, "The Mystics are playing in the mud. Now is our time to move ahead of them."
They took off at a jog. It was not long before they reached the edge of the forest. They both surveyed the Asylum.
"This will be difficult to pull off Nix, but we can do it."
Ciara nodded slightly to Jaya, grinning brightly as the twin emerald orbs looked upon the massive castle that stood towering before them. Her eyes sparkled with the excitement of actually getting to go to a real insane asylum. It seemed fitting for the Mystics, anyway. But she had to also remember that the asylum was currently under attack by the stinky rebels. A slight smirk touched her lips as she waved her hand towards the bridge where only two scum bags stood, "C'mon people, I think its nappy time for our little friends. Kryndath, Aari...you two come with me. Jaya, Kudos...you know what to do," she nodded off towards the swamp once before starting off on creaking bridge.
As they were crossing the bridge, each Mystic tapping into their darkest thoughts, the hatred that lay there fueling their power. Reaching the midway of the bridge, the two rebel soldiers stepped out in front of them, their blasters trained on the trio. The three stood watching them, a simple smirk on their lips as each concentrated on the power of *induce sleep. The rebel soldiers wavered on their feet, the blasters falling from their hands as they fell to the ground, fast asleep.
Further back, the rest of the Mystic team were meeting up with the two acolytes who had made the mistake of thinking that they could follow the phyle all the while unnoticed. A moment later the Jedi Hunter and the Guardian had brought the same fate down upon the two acolytes that had recently befallen the two rebel soldiers on the bridge.
As Kidouses rushed back to catch up with the others, Jaya was left with "babysitting" duty. She quickly snatched a pair of stun cuffs from a pouch she carried on her utility belt, snapping a pair onto each of the acolytes wrists before dragging them off to the side of the asylum. A quick flick of her thumb and she had activated the stun cuffs around their wrists so that when they awoke from their little nap, they wouldn't stay awake for long. A slight yawn escaped past her lips as she moved to sit down on a large stone near the swampy muck, reaching out a foot to kick the one she identified as Nix lightly in the side before reaching once again into her pack. Being only a Guardian, Jaya didn't have much in the way of offensive powers so she knew to carry along some nice little weapons. So, from her pouch was pulled a shiny pair of vibro-knucklers which she quickly slipped onto her hands, eyeing the two with anticipation of the moment they would awake. She wouldn't hurt them too bad, she just had to make sure they didn't interfere with anything...
By this time Kidouses had caught up with the trio who were currently having a grand ol' time playing shoot 'em up with the rebels. Apparently they had taken the blasters away from the sleeping rebels outside and were now using their own blasters against them. He barely had time to observe the situation before Aari came running up to him, slamming a blaster down in his hand, "Take this. I'm going with Ciara to find Kodiak. You and Kryndath try and keep them off our backs."
Running out to meet Kryndath in the center of the main chamber, they stood back to back while continuing to play shoot 'em up with all the slime.
Aari ran up beside Ciara giggling as she put yet another cranky rebel to sleep, waving her nerf bat wildly about. A small grin touched her lips as Ciara ran her thumb over the activation switch of her sabre hilt, watching da purdy gold blade spring to life. Hopping over to one of the many sleeping guards laying near one of the doors leading to any of several padded cells lining the corridor, she glanced down the sleeping form, almost giggling as she very gently and slowly placed the tip of her sabre between his eyes, slowly drilling the sabre blade into his head.
Aari turned quickly to look back as she heard Ciara's giggle of joy, groaning she ran over to her, snatching up her wrist to pull her away just as Ciara dropped a little black rose in the hole she recently carved through the rebels skull.
"Hey! I'm having fun, what do you want?"
"I see Kodiak! They're taking him away! Ha Ha! I mean..they're dragging him somewhere!"
A quirked eyebrow was all the response given, as the two ran off to peer around the corner. Two rebel soldiers had their tipsy quaestor, dragging him down the hall in a not very polite manner. Shaking her head as she watched the two guards fall to sleep as most of their fellows had, Aari running up to beat Kodiak over the head once with her nerfbat, shaking him violently as Ciara swiftly removed the heads of the two rebels, turning to look back at Kodiak. . .
"Kodiak! Do you know who you are..or where you are?" Aari whispered loudly to him, trying to stifle the giggle at his little pink straight jacket they had him in.
"Er..what do you think my claws are made of? Ahh! To the funny farm, where life is beautiful allllll the time..and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming to take me awaaaaay......"
"Ha Ha.. we know," Aari and Ciara spoke in unison before dragging him off into one of the empty padded cells.
Sith walked slowly, silently, as he reenters the halls of his house within the Brotherhood, the halls of Gladius. It had been some time since he had walked these halls, but he remembered everything in perfect detail... well, there may have been a little more dust than he remembered.
He was looking for someone, the head of his phyle. Locating a nearby Acolyte, Sith inquired of the whereabouts of the ever mysterious Ciara Tearnan.
"Uhhh, I believe Mistress Tearnan left a short time ago with a few other members of the Phyle, Guardian," the Acolyte replied. "Some commotion involving something called a Code Blue."
Sith nodded, leaving the Acolyte to continue whatever it was he was doing. Sith headed back to the hangars, towards his ship. With almost prescient knowledge, he allowed the Dark Side to guide him as he piloted his ship into hyperspace, heading towards the planet his fellow Mystics had "landed" on. In short time, he arrived, piloting his ship into the atmosphere. He noticed the wreckage of what probably had been two ships with a slight smirk marring his otherwise emotionless face. "I could probably guess whose wonderous job of piloting that was..."
Sith set his ship down a distance away from the asylum, noting the appearance of rebel ships. Gathering all his "toys", he walked off the landing platform of his ship, heading as fast as he could towards the asylum.
* * * * *
Inside the asylum, he noted various bodies, some sleeping, some dead. Obviously the work of the ever insane dark Mystics. As he silently stalked the halls of the asylum, he noted the form of the Quaestor being dragged of by two of his fellow Phyle members. He quickly followed after them, slowly closing the distance. When he was within earshot of them he said, "And what do we have in mind for our great Quaestor today Ciara? Whips and Chains? Hot pokers?" He smirked slightly. " And how would Tonaloc feel knowing you didn't wait until he was properly sane before doing this. Wouldn't he feel just awful that insanity robbed him of the torment?"
Deathlord glanced up from his padded cell, blinking slowly, "Whoa, hey.. turn the lights down! Too bright.."
Ciara glanced to Aari, shrugging slightly as they rushed in the cell, smothering Deathlord with questions.
"Where have you been?"
"How did you get in here?"
"Wake up, dammit!"
Deathlord blinked at the Dark Jedi Knight and Jedi Hunter, shrugging slightly, "Hey, I just came to help Kodiak and they decided I was crazy. Its not my fault!"
As Ciara and Aari left their slightly insane Quaestor in the padded cell, Kryndath came running up to the two girls, "We can't find anyone else. They're all fast asleep."
Ciara turned to the running Sith, smiling slightly, "Here, you watch Kodiak.. and Deathlord. We have to go do.. some other stuff. Just stay here and shoot anyone that tries to hurt them." She tossed a blaster carbine to Sith, which he eagery took.
"Good.. good.." Ciara rubbed her hands together, looking malevolently gleeful. "Now then, we need to make absolutely sure their are no more.. Rebels.. or anyone else who will stand in our way."
As the three Mystics marched through the main chambers of this strange asylum, two surviving Rebel soldiers stepped out behind the gathered Mystics, waving their blasters slightly. Ciara turned suddenly, frowning as she swept her saber from her belt in a single smooth motion. Thumbing the activation switch and watching the golden blade spring forth, she cocked her arm back and threw it in a precisely measured motion toward the Rebel's head.
The one to her right ducked away, as the other's head fell from its shoulders, landing on the chamber floor with a wet sounding thunk. The skull cracked as it fell, and blood leaked out over the floor, puddling at the severed neck.
A bit of grey matter poked up through the crack, and the other Rebel soldier reached down, crying softly, "I told ya to shoot.. but ya didn't believe me! Why didn't ya believe me?!" He snatched the decapitated head up, pulling a piece of the dead man's brain through the skull and throwing it toward Ciara.
Already angered that this arrogant Rebel hadn't died with his companion, she raised a hand, her thoughts focused on her Dark powers, channeling it into *Telekinesis. The grey matter slammed back into the first Rebel's face and Ciara strode forward, splitting the man from head to groin.
As they turned away from the decapitated Rebel, Kryndath and Kidouses came running up. Ciara raised a hand, motioning them close, "You two, go free those two Acolytes. And bring Jaya to us. Okies?"
Kidouses nodded, and turned away, Kryndath right at his side, "So, why do you suppose she's letting them go, Kudos?"
Kryndath shrugged slightly, "I'm sure she has her reasons."
As they turned out of the mental asylum, stepping over the dead or sleeping bodies, they could feel Jaya in the distance, barely controlling the urge to.. "entertain" her two guests.
Kidouses ran ahead suddenly, waving to Jaya, "Hey, let 'em go!"
Jaya frowned at the two Jedi Hunters, "Why?"
"Orders from the boss lady!" Kidouses grinned as Kryndath came up beside him.
Stumbling a bit, Sith pushed his way past a door that was hidden within the padded walls of the cell they were in, glancing briefly back into the room to check on Deathlord and Kodiak he stepped further into the hidden room. With narrowed eyes he stared into the darkness in the room, hands fumbling about on the wall before thumbing over a few switches, that cast only a slight red glow about the room, but at least he could see now.
Before him stood what looked like a medieval torture chamber, near any sort of torure device ever known, and not known until now, shone with the soft red glow, beckoning him forward. Wide eyes marvelled at all the shiny sharp objects as his hands rubbed together gleefully. It was time to play. . .
"Hey! What're you doing in there," Deathlord called out to him, "I see some red light..what is it?"
"Don't worry about it, you just watch our old, ailing, slightly tispy code blue Quaestor."
Back out near the swamps Telona and Nix had just been released and were standing with Ciara and Aari next to a small shuttle they had found camouflaged in all the muck.
"Alright. We found Kodiak, people. But, if you still want some of that glory, you'll do us all the great favor of returning him to that stupid rock we live on. Er, I mean, the Gladius asteroid... " Ciara instructed, eyeing each of the acolytes carefully.
"Okay, but what about you guys? You have another ship," asked Nix curiously.
"You don't worry about us. Just get our crazy Quaestor out of here! He could be a danger to himself and others in his state, you know?" Aari shouted as she quickly ran off with Ciara to find the others, leaving Jaya behind to make sure they got Kodiak safely back to the gladius rock thang.
Practically bouncing down the halls of the asylum, hopping over all the scattered bodies while catching a brief glimpse of Jaya standing in a large room, seeming to size it up with her eyes Ciara wondered what her sister had in store for the little padded room with a slight smirk.
Ciara's eyes sparkled with their usual dark humor, skidding into the room she had left their dear quaestor in, a brow was quirked as she noticed Kryndath and Kidouses had also joined the others there, though most were crowded into what appeared to be some hidden room. Shoulders were shrugged as she quickly ran up to Kodiak, leaning down a fit to grasp her hands firmly around his ankles, "Okay, Kodiak. You get to come with me. Don't worry, we won't kill ya. Physically. I prommmise!"
Dragging her dear sweet pet quaestor on spice back through the halls of the asylum by his ankle, Ciara smiled brightly to herself just before dropping Kodiak at the feet of Nix and Telona, "Here ya go. All spiced up and ready to go." As Nix and Telona pulled Kodiak into the ship they saw Ciara run off just as quickly as she came, waving behind her, "Don't wait up for us!"
