May KMT: Glimpse of an Eye - JH Decarat
-
Decarat Tainer: Shortish, male,
balding slightly on the top of his head, black hair. In his middle 20s. Looks
old than he really is. No facial hair. Wears Jedi Hunter robes.
-
Brent Tainer (Archangel): Tall, long black
hair, green eyes, and strongly build. Slight stubble on chin, and cheeks.
-
Phirun Luna: Medium height,
small build, and female. Very athletic, and graceful. Near-perfect hourglass
body.
-
Galaxina (Lexie) Tainer:
Zabrak, female, light brown skin. A set of small, grayed horns. Amazing figure.
Setting:
Tarentum Castle will be the main setting of the play. All the action will take
place within its walls. The walls are made of hewn stone of a dark gray
complexion. The walls are adorned with drapes and tapestries of ancient dark
jedi, and battles they partook in.
Act 1: Scene 1:
Galaxina and Brent are sitting around a large dining table. There is
a small dinner before them, and one empty place.
Galaxina:
[irritated] Where could he be? He should have been
here ages ago!
Brent: Don’t
worry, my dear. He is probably late, as usual.
Galaxina:
Are you sure you are blood relatives? He is seems too different from you. I
mean, look at his physique! He’s short, and at best, plump. And he’s losing his
hair! He looks years older than you.
Brent:
Lexie, please. He and I are brothers, twins at that. Havent you ever heard of
unidentical twins?
Galaxina:
[lovingly] Ofcourse I have! But then I would have had trouble picking between
you if you had been identical.
Galaxina grins at Brent, and leans over to kiss
him. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door.
Galaxina:
[sarcasticly] I wonder who that could be?
Brent:
[getting up] Don’t start. You be nice to him please. [to the door] I’m coming!
Act 1: Scene 2:
Brent opens the large door, and allows Decarat to enter. Decarat
smiles, and greets his brother with a hug. He turns to Galaxina, and
gives her a kiss on the cheek.
Decarat:
Hello guys, sorry Im late. My transport got caught up in the asteroid belt. Horrible robot pilots these days.
Brent:
Please, Dec, sit. You must be tired.
Decarat:
[sitting] I am, thank you. This dinner looks amazing! Which one of you made it?
Galaxina: I
did. I hope you like it.
The characters being to eat, the following text is said
during the meal
Galaxina:
So, Decarat, meet anyone new recently?
Brent:
Lexie! I don’t think that Decarat wants to discuss his life over the dinner
table.
Decarat: No,
it’s ok, Brent. I have actually met someone recently.
Galaxina:
Oh? Who is the lucky lady?
Decarat: I
don’t know her name.
Galaxina:
What? How could you not know her name?
Decarat: I
only just met her, Lex. She’s so intelligent, and fun to be with.
Brent: But
you don’t know her name? That doesn’t sound like a good start to a relationship.
Decarat: But
she is so amazing! You should know how it feels to be in such love! You and
Lexie were the same when you met.
Brent:
[looking to Lexie] Well, ofcourse we were. But I knew her name at least.
Decarat: All
I know, is that she reminds me of rain.
Act 2: Scene 1:
Decarat is standing at a window, looking out onto the foliage which cover
the hills to the north of
the Tarentum castle.
Decarat: Maybe
Brent was right. I have only just met her, and I don’t even know her name! How
could I let myself get so involved with her so quickly! Im such a fool!
Phirun:
[from the shadows]: No you aren’t
Decarat:
[looking around] Who was that? Who is there? I suggest
you give yourself up now!
Phirun:
[walks up behind Decarat, and wraps her arms around his waist] It’s me, you
silly. What was Brent right about?
Decarat:
[turning around in her arms, and smiling] Nothing. I changed my mind.
Phirun: He
doesn’t approve of us, does he? He doesn’t think that our relationship is real.
Decaract: Well,
in a nutshell, yes.
Decarat leans down, and kisses Phirun, who backs away slightly, and lets go of his waist.
Decarat: What’s
wrong?
Phirun: Do
you even know my name?
Decarat: How
could I know it if you haven’t told me.
Phirun: You
pig-headed fool! I’ve told you many times. You are just too dreamy eyed to
hear.
Phirun storms off stage, leaving Decarat to contemplate what just happened.
Decarat:
Maybe Brent was right…
Act 2: Scene 2:
Brent is sitting with Decarat at the dinner table from before. Decarat
has his head in his hands, and is shaking it slowly.
Brent: Come
on now, Dec. You just need to apologies, and ask nicely. Either she accepts you
back, or she stays like she is now. If she really, and
truly loves you, she will accept you back.
Decarat: She
is more complex than that! She is so perfect…
Brent: You
need to stop thinking like that. You cant just let
your emotions run riot around you mind. You are a Dark Jedi for crying out
loud!
Decarat: But
aren’t Dark Jedi meant to use their emotions to gain power?
Decarat stands up, and glares meaningfully at Brent
Brent: Yes,
we are. But not at the expense of sanity.
Decarat:
What? Am I insane now? Because I am in love with a woman who’s
name I don’t know? I’d rather be in love with her than be called a sane man.
Brent: Your
emotions are clouding your mind. You are not thinking straight.
Decarat: I
haven’t had such a clear mind before in my life! I see things so clearly now.
You are out to get me, and Phirun!
Decarat pulls out a knife and launches himself at Brent. After a
brief struggle, the knife flies across the room, and Brent is holding Decarat
down
Brent: You
fool! She has seduced you like a succubus! I forbid you to see her again!
Decarat: [pushing
Brent away quickly, and running for the door] You cant
control me, “Brother”. Ofcourse, I use that word as an outermost definition.
Act 3: Scene 1:
Decarat arrived at the same corridor as before, where Phirun’s room
was. He looked around, but doesn’t seem to find what he is looking for
Decarat: [shouting]
Where are you?! Where are you?! Your door is sealed,
and I cant enter. Where are you, my love? Have I lost
you for real?
Decarat falls to his knees, and begins to weep. He looks up at the newly
arrived Galaxina.
Galaxina:
Hello Decarat.
Decarat: Be
gone, witch!
Galaxina:
I’ll let that one slip. I recognized your description of your new love, and I
remembered where I read it. Her name was Phirun Luna. She was a Proconsul here
many many years ago. She died in that room there. Her body is still there.
Decarat:
But, but, but…
Galaxina:
[hugging Decarat] It’s ok, my dear. It’s ok. She was
just a glimpse of a past self.
Decarat:
Love lost in a glimpse of an eye.
