June KMT: Get In - ACO Blade
The
chamber was darkened as per the request of the Sith
Warrior. He knew how to bring the young clone along to full strength; he was
well trained in those dark arts. Sith Warrior Ric Taldrya,
a former Krath in the now extinct House of Ektrosis, was a master cloner,
not quite as good as the Kamino Cloners,
but not too shabby. He had not had call to use his dark knowledge until
recently; he felt that his knowledge needs to be passed on and this was the
best way.
The figure sleeping on the bed in the
corner of the room would be that vessel. He was a perfect copy of Ric, grown from his own
cells. The only thing missing, besides the scars, was the control that could
only come with training.
Ric left the room and its
occupant to get some rest. He needed to go and see a friend that owed him a
favor. Ric walked down the corridor towards
the Krath Quaestors office
and quarters were located. On his way he passed many seeking knowledge. He knew
that if he ever shared what he knew, chances are he would have an ‘Accident’. He knew that he would also kill many who
tried.
Ric entered the outer
office and waited until after the secretary announced that Krath
Priestess Kerriwden Jorddyn
and her Aedile, Krath
Priest George had finished their meeting. Ric helped himself to a
cup of Caf as George left.
“I hope that you weren’t waiting too
long Ric,” Kerri said with a smile.
“Actually, I just arrived. Sithspit! Did George make this batch?” Ric asked as he grimaced
from the taste. Kerri couldn’t suppress her laugh as she watched him.
“Serves you right.
I am still getting mud out of my combat robes from our duel,” then it was Rics turn to laugh. They
had just dueled on the planet Sahere, in a drenching
monsoon and had both been covered in mud.
“Hehe, don’t
feel bad. I have not yet got it all out of my ears either,” Kerri led the way
back into her office and they both took seats.
“So, what’s on your mind?” Kerri
asked, sensing he had come to ask something.
“I need a favor. I have a project that
I need help with. I need to have as little contact as I can with him. Would you
mind taking him and training him?” Ric asked. He felt that he
knew what she would say and wasn’t surprised when she did.
“With as many favors as I owe you,
this will be a pleasure. When should he come in?” Kerri asked.
“Give him a few more days, at least.
He needs to get used to the light and also to sound. His eyes and ears are very
sensitive. Give him another two days,” Ric then rose from his
seat and headed for the door. He turned just before he departed and looked
back, “Take care of him for me. I am leaving in the morning with Prae. I have no idea where I am going or what were doing.
Well, you know how ID works I guess. I’ll be back when I am back. By the way,
his name is Blade.”
With a swirl of his cloak, he was
gone.
Three
Days Later…
Blade got out of bed and
walked to the window. He peered outside and for the first time felt no pain
from the light. His ears didn’t ring from sound and he felt normal, an odd
sensation for him to feel. He had never known any other life yet had memories
and emotional attachments that were not his.
He went to the closet and pulled out
his loose fitting robes. For a second, he wondered why they were not the robes
a Sith Warrior and those of an Apprentice. Then he
remembered what his “Father” had told him. In the beginning, he would have
thoughts and emotions that were not his. It would pass; until it did he would
feel slight confusion.
Blade went towards the
dining facility to get some food. He was famished and felt that he could eat a gundark, even though he had no idea what a ‘gundark’ was. Blade passed others, some in
pilot’s uniforms and others in robes much like his. One, wearing the robes of a
Jedi Hunter stopped him and bowed.
“Master, I apologize for disturbing
you, but why are you wearing Apprentice robes?” he asked.
“I am not a master. Who are you?” Blade asked.
The Jedi Hunter bowed with a confused
look on his face and asked to be excused. Blade motioned him on and
continued on his own path. He entered the dining facility and was shocked as
all the members seemed shocked at his appearance.
Kerri, having spotted Blade enter, made her way to
him. She knew people would react to him in a weird way. She led him to the
corner booth reserved for the house summit and sat down.
“Your ‘father’ said I was to help you
get accustomed to your surroundings. He will be gone for sometime and wished to
have a friendly face for you to turn to,” Kerri smiled at him.
“Thank you. I think I have a lot to
learn,” Blade said with a forlorn taint to his
voice, knowing the hard task that lay ahead.
“The only way to do it is to “get in” and do it,” Kerri said with a grin.
The
Next day the training began….
