Casino Imperiale Report - DA Gidda
Following some troubling reports from the Intelligence Division, the ISD Intrepid had been ordered to move to the Setii system in order to keep a watchful eye on the Emperor's Hammer boundaries and to make sure that no illegal cargo or passengers were passing throu those boundaries. In fact the reports described how the Rogue Dark Brotherhood was trying to infiltrate some of their agents aboard of civilian freighters and passengers liners and those agents could have tried to make defect more members of the Dark Brotherhood.
Colonel Gidda was in his office and he was reading a report submitted by Apophis Kuma, Commandeering Officer of Cobra squadron. Two days before Gidda had ordered Commander Kuma to maintain routine patrols near the hyperbuoy CFH-3 which marked the standard entry point to the Setii system for all the freighters coming from the Remnant territories. Cobra Flight II; which used TIE Vanguards, had inspected hundreds of freighters and personal transports but nothing illegal or just barely strange had been found. Gidda took a deep breath, he know how slimy and stealthy a Sith could be...after all he was a Sith himself.
Gidda stretched his arms, he was getting extremely annoyed. For one month he had to plan boring recon missions, for one month his great Wing has been employed to inspect freighters and small transports. "Dammit, we are a ASF ship, let the Directorate iinspect as many vessels as they want" said Gidda to himself and then he emptied his glass of Auroran red wine. What worried Gidda the most is that Supremacy Competition, a very important training maneuver, was going to start in less than 1 month and his pilot couldn't train because they were busy with recon runs.
Suddenly the commlink he left on the desk started to emit a signal. Gidda used telekinesis to grab the small object and check who was calling him. It was the Commodore.
"Colonel Gidda reporting in, Admiral" said the Wing Commander in a ceremonial tone.
"Colonel, I need you on the command bridge immediately" replied Frodo.
"Yes sir" said Gidda and closed the communication.
Gidda put on the jacket of his duty uniform, attached his lightsaber to the belt and hurried out of his cabin headed to the nearest hololift. Three minutes later he arrived on the command bridge and approached Vice Admiral Frodo. The two flag officers exchanged the salute and then the Commodore started to talk, "Our mission here is over" said Frodo "I have just received orders from the Battlegroup Commander that we have to return to Phare.
Gidda was surprised, "Any reason for this sudden change of plans?" he asked
Frodo handed him a datapad, "Here it is"
The Colonel looked at the information stored on the pad, apparently the Tactical Officer and Science Officer created a new automated encryption system and Grand Admiral Ronin acknowledged to have that new piece of hardware mounted on every single vessel or straighter of the TIE Corps.
Gidda gave back the datapad to his Commodore, "So we have to return to Phare and wait that our techs mount this new technological marvel?" said Gidda
"It seems so" replied Frodo with an amused expression.
"Well, if you have no objections I will organize training sessions at the simulator while the new device is being mounted on the Intrepid" Said Gidda
Frodo nodded, "That's a good , Colonel"
"Do you want me to send out a flight or two for escort?" asked again Gidda
"Good idea", replied Frodo. "you never know when the enemy will strike"
Gidda saluted and returned to the hololift. Soon he realized the he never had a good flight during the past weeks so he decided to follow the Intrepid to Phare in his Phalanx Gunboat. Gidda activated the commlink to call Major Justin.
Viper squadron Commander quickly responded "Colonel, is there anything I can do for you'?"
"Yes Justin" continued Gidda "prepare your squadron, you're going to escort the Intrepid with me to Phare"
"No more boring recon patrols? Hurray...I mean, yes sir, I will be expecting you at the hangar bay"
Gidda smiled and closed the communication, he couldn't wait to wear his TIE suit.
