Episode III Review - MAJ Tek Selkirk
Hmm, well the long awaited Revenge of the Sith has finally come. I stood outside my theater in the rain, sporting an old Star Wars T-Shirt I wore ten years ago. It still fit, remarkably. Many around me were dressed in cloaks and had lightsabers, they looked pretty stupid trying to look all badass. I got in with me preordered ticket, and fought for a good seat. Everyone cheered when the fanfare played, and the Lucasfilm logo flashed. I noticed a lack of the THX logo, I always liked that logo and the sound accompanying it because it felt very Star Wars-y. I thought the movie was pretty good, but I had a few problems. The fighters in the opening scene with three wing struts on each side? Was this some pathetic attempt by Lucas to relate an "old" design to the X-Wing? If that was the case, they should have been flying Z-95s, but you all know that. I liked how they portrayed Anakin as a man that was basically whipped by his woman, I see this all the time in high school. The best part of the movie, I thought, was when Anakin killed the younglings and the Separatist leaders in a massive butchering. It was very powerful, and necessary to mark the change from innocence to utter revulsion, the way Darth Vader should be seen as in my opinion. Overall, the best of the prequels, but I don't know if it surpasses the original trilogy.
