EDITORIAL
As another edition of Battlecry comes to the closing stages of completion, here I am writing out the editorial again. It's been a busy month in the Battlecry Offices with a lot of comings and goings of staff. So for this Editorial, I'm going to talk about all the wonderful people who make this newsletter.
To start off with I'll talk about AD Theodore, who has only just recently left the newsletter due to a change in position in the TC. He was the "Publisher" of Battlecry, who would hand out the medals to competition winners, sorted out the red tape if I said anything stupid, and give input to the newsletter with ideas and writing. before that he was the Editor of this newsletter for issues 3 and 4, and a staff writer before even that. He has been with this newsletter since the start (way before me) and it's a shame to see him have to leave. I also wish him all the best in his new position in the Flight Office.
A new "Publisher" was needed because of Theodore's departure, and there was only one man for the job. As tradition states, "all BGCOM's of BG II must have a part in the creation of the TC Newsletter Battlecry". I think it's to keep there feet on the ground after their recent promotion, or to keep them busy so the FO can have job security, but either way BGCOM/VA Jarak Maldon is the new "Publisher" of Battlecry. I would like to welcome VA Jarak here and I hope he enjoys his time as the new Publisher of Battlecry.
After this another loss was made, as COL Sauron had to stand down from his position of Flying Contest Coordinator. COL Sauron was also working for Battlecry since the start, and only had a brief spell away between issue 5-6. Sauron always made top class missions for the BC Flying Contests (which you can still find at the TC Battle Board) as well as running and promoting the competitions. It's a sad fact that Real-Life had to pull him away fro m not only the BC Offices but the TC as a whole, and I hope he returns someday.
The only thing that has keep me going throughout all the changes in the Battlecry Office is the addition of a new staff writer. I actually signed up this pilot last month, but I had already wrote the debate article for issue 7, leaving him with nothing to do. So, it's been a wait, but you can now see CPT Troutrooper's work in the Think Tank (Debate) section!!! Troutrooper has been submitting to Battlecry for a while now, as well as winning the BC Writing contest twice in a row, so I already knew of his ability. When he asked me for a job, I knew that he was the one for the position of Staff Writer and to take over the responsibilities of the Think Tank article.
Apart from me looking for a new Flying Contest Coordinator (which I will hand pick myself, so don't ask for the position), I don't think I can handle any more changes in the offices. But even though there aren't any official jobs going, you can still get your name in Battlecry by submitting every month. The only way to get a job in Battlecry now is if I notice you as being a damn good writer or artist via submissions, then I may even ask you personally to join the team.
Anyway, that's behind the scenes...now look at what we do. Read on...
