A Somber Request
(from the Rebel Squadrons): 09.12.01
As Emailed From: Rebel
Squadrons Fleet Commander (FA Dave)
Greetings, fellow Fleet Commanders.
Recently, the United States has been hit by perhaps its greatest tragedy ever. We all lead responsible,
international organizations, and thus have the ability to make our voices heard. The Rebel Squadrons as
an organization has taken a stance on this issue, and our High Command is unified in our statement.
I now ask if it would be possible for all of our clubs to make a joint statement to the families of the victims,
to the United States, to the culprits, indeed, to the world. Let the entire online Star Wars community
stand together on this issue!
I have pasted the RS' resolution condemning the attacks at the bottom of this email. It may serve as a
springboard for a resolution of our clubs combined. Please let me know if you are interested in this idea,
and what kind of statement you all would like to make.
Most Sincerely,
Dave Trebonious-Astoris
RSFC
"The Rebel Squadrons is an international organization, and we therefore hold views as a club. In the wake
of the devastating tragedies at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and other crash sites, many nations
have spoken out against the perpetrators of these acts.
The Rebel Squadrons, as an organization, now joins this solemn roll call. We
are shocked and disturbed by the attacks and the loss of life. Our condolences go out to each and every family touched by loss, and
also to the American people as a whole, who have suffered such a catastrophe. Finally, we condemn
those who have committed these acts; not their religion, not their race, but simply those people and the
governments that harbor them.
May justice be swift."
Fleet
Commander's Note
The Emperor's Hammer joins with the RS in condemning last week's
tragedy in the strongest terms. Let us all stand together
and hope to shed some light in all this darkness...
I thank you all for your support and I also ask ALL EH Members
to be mindful of NOT acting like the terrorists and NOT to engage in racist of
derogatory comments in EH online areas (i.e. our IRC Channels).
May the Force be with us all...!

Loss of
IWTAC (Neo): 09.19.01
As Emailed From: Rear Admiral Iylan Kano
<SALUTE>
David Andrews, known to you all as Neo, the IWTAC and Aedile of House Marka Ragnos passed away last
night in a car crash, aged just 16 years of age.
Dave was great personal friend who I have known for several years. He was
most unique person I have ever met, with a singular humour that hid a great
intelligence and perceptiveness. Qualities that gained him many friends, even
among those who barely knew him, and that would have served him to distinction
in his chosen career of Law.
The Emperors Hammer was the ultimate experience for someone who could not
quote from any of the four Star Wars films, but also from any of the books. I
will never forget our conversations as to how exactly to pronounce Tyhco Celchu
or Yuuzhan Vong, or our joint frantic search for more news on Episode II or the
next New Jedi Order book.
I can only say how glad I am that he got the chance to create his own lightsaber
as Dark Jedi Knight in the Dark Brotherhood; something he had strived and worked
for since he joined, eleven months ago. I know how proud he was to have earned
that privilege and also to have won the Mission Design section of the
Brotherhood wide Vendetta. Those of you within Clan Naga Sadow know what I mean
when I say how important he was to us all, his humour, his hard work and his
love of what he did. I for one know how strange the clan will seem without him.
Dave gave so much his time to the Infiltrator Wing and it is a better place
by far due to his efforts. First commander of White Squadron, he spent many
happy months and made it the most active, fun and prosperous squadron in the
fleet. After turning down many position promotions, he was eventually convinced
to accept Wing Commander. To this, as to everything else he did, he brought all
his effort, humour and sense of belonging. After a period where he dedicated his
efforts on his Dark Brotherhood career he returned to the Infiltrator Wing to
serve as its Tactical Officer. There, his love for X-wing vs TIE Fighter and
X-wing Alliance helped him strive towards developing new missions, battles and
competitions.
Myself, Rear Admiral Mutilator and Admiral Figaro will be taking leave
effectively immediately. I cannot speak for other two, but I know that I myself
will continue to do as much as possible during the coming days. I know this is
exactly what Dave would have wanted me to do and I hope that the magnificent
community that is the Emperors Hammer will help me and my friends come to
terms with this tragic loss.
We will remember him.

{Salute}
It is with great sadness that the first promotion I make as IWCOM is to a friend who is no longer with us.
When I joined the Infiltrator Wing, my first Flight Leader was Neo. Very quickly I found he was a very happy, go lucky person who seemed to almost
not have a care in the universe.
A quote that I have had with my ID line for some time has a different meaning now. I have been witness
to Emperor's Hammer members pass on before, but this is the first time it is a member I have had the
pleasure of working with.
Words cannot describe the pain felt by those who knew him online, and emotions cannot be described by those who knew him in reality.
I hearby promote Brigadier Neo to the rank of Rear Admiral and in his honour will rename the MC90
Despot, in the Karanna System Defence Battle Group to MC90 Neo.
I convey to his friends and family nothing but my deepest condolences regarding their
loss.
Fare well Neo....

For the first time since my first dog died ten years ago, I've shed a
tear after hearing tragic news. I never did get the chance to meet Dave in person, I had a good working relationship with Neo both when he
was my wing commander when I first joined the IW, and when he was my XO when I commanded
Intruder.
Dave had a knack for making me laugh, be it from his online antics, to
his insanely composed e-mails, I always laughed. And now, today, I just can't muster up the nerve to even smile. I just wish I had more to
say about him.
My deepest condolences go out to all his friends and family. We're gonna miss you, Dave.

Commander's Note
This has been a VERY tough week for the Emperor's Hammer with
the loss of two of its younger, energetic and more popular Members. It is
always sad to have an EHer pass, but it is especially difficult when the loss is
so sudden and tragic. Our condolences to the families and friends of their
loved ones.
The EH has lost several people in its 7 year history, but the
two recent events have caused me to pass and express some of my own feelings to
the Membership.
Some close to me have asked (more than once...:) why do I do
this ? Why do I "waste" countless hours and money to keep this
club going. The reason is simple...the Members...YOU are why I do this
! I have seen friendships made, bonds forged, weddings, deaths, and just
about everything else one finds in RL society. It is truly remarkable the
depth of the emotions and attitudes generated in the EH. On a daily basis,
I am constantly amazed (and challenged) with the myriad of emails, MB posts, www
sites, etc. generated in the EH. You folks are truly remarkable and have
breathed life into the EH and honor those of us who have fallen with your
continued support and dedication.
In these tough times, I challenge all of us to remember that the
world, the EH, indeed life itself, will go on...However, we should all pause and
honor our fallen heroes...!!!

FA Kramer
Awarded Medal of Honor: 09.11.01
As Recommended By: COM/RA
Proton/SSSD Sovereign
(Please see the Operations
Manual for medal descriptions)
GA Ronin and SA Kawolski,
I recommend Fleet Admiral Kramer for the Medal of Honor.
Kramer's value to the Emperor's Hammer is very simple to understand: In four
years as commodore of the
SSSD Sovereign, he made things fun and entertaining
for his subordinates.
His positive effects in the TIE Corps cannot be measured on a medal board, in
dominance of 10 IRC channels, in creation of massive programs, etc. But in
intangible terms, his contributions blow away those of some other officers who
constantly tout their own records and point to the stacks of hardware on their
uniforms.
And, imagine this: Kramer is an actually genuine likable guy, a kind human being
whom I never once remember being rude or overbearing.
I don't even hold his allegiance to the Minnesota Twins against him ;)
I would like to quote COL Calzeo Inkwolf, who was the Wing II WC in Kramer's
command until recently:
"COM Kramer has always been a fine commander. He has made the Sov a fun
place to be, with his joining in on the message chains, singling out exceptional
members, and creating a cool atmosphere for role-playing. Under his leadership,
the Sov has maintained its policy of keeping things fun, with more emphasis on
good times and friendship than high scores--though we've had plenty of those as
well!
"Commodore Kramer's scorpions are a byword throughout the ship, the
upholders of Sov discipline. His other minions are also well-known--Crusher the
Hutt secretary, Napoleon the Electric Arowana, not to mention the infamous Fred
and Barney! What would any Sov fan-fic or message chain be without mention of
these official horrors of the ship?
"Commodore Kramer monitored the message chains regularly, and never failed to take special notice of pilots who were communicative and active. He was very involved in the
decision-making process of appointing new squadron commanders and approving medals, and took steps to encourage innovative competition design and leadership.
"Maybe he didn't turn up on IRC or the MBs much, maybe he didn't run a lot of comps himself over the last year. But he was always there for anyone who needed him, and always involved
in and attentive to the activities of the wings.
"I offer a salute to a fine officer and a great leader--Commodore Kramer will be missed terribly."
The undersigned endorse this recommendation for the MoH for FA Kramer.
Thanks,

Awarded to Fleet Admiral Priyum Patel: 09.15.01

Officer (FA Striker)
(Please see the Operations
Manual for medal descriptions)
Greetings,
I would like to highlight today the work done by our very own Flight Officer,
Fleet Admiral Priyum Patel. Pri has been in charge of the Flight Office, the
most time-consuming place of the fleet (well, as much as the Tactical Office of
course ;-), for the past seven months now if I'm right, and has always shown
high standards of activity. I do not remember a TIE Corps meeting without him,
and he has proven to be a very qualified leader for the TIE Corps. Therefore, I
would like to recommend him for the Grand Order of the Emperor, in recognition
of his hard work as Flight Officer, considering his last "award" was
his promotion to Fleet Admiral five months ago.
Thank you for your time.

Imperial Senate
Gentlemen,
I'm not going to make this long and drawn out. Simply put, I am resigning from all my positions within the EH... Chancellor of the Imperial Senate, Vice President of Banking and as a
Flight Member in the TIE Corps.
The reason for this is that I have recently entered college, and while my work is not strenuous to the point of my living in the library, I have found that my drive to complete my
work within the EH has diminished. Rather than make the Senate, Corporate Division and my Squadron suffer, I've decided to move on.
I will take the position as Executive Councilor in the Senate, and as for the TIE Corps and Corporate Division, I wish to placed in the Reserves.
In regards to my successors... I am not naming one for the Imperial Senate. I believe that applications should be taken from everywhere, rather than simply keeping it
in the Senate. As for the Corporate Division, I highly recommend Bevel Leeson to replace me as

I believe that is all... thank you all for the opportunities of leadership you have given me.

<SALUTE>
Grand Admiral Ronin, Sector Admiral Kawolski, members of the Emperor's Hammer
Fleet,
It is with regret, yet firm conviction, that I wish to inform you of my decision
to resign the Office of President to the Corporate Division, and my membership
in the active part of the Emperors Hammer fleet, effective 19 September,
2001.
This letter explains the matters of conscience that have led me to resign from
your command staff, and from the fleet entirely.
I have truly enjoyed my time, my work and my life with the Emperors Hammer.
During the past 1 years, I have worked alongside many fine individuals and
have learned a great deal.
I appreciate the numerous opportunities I have received during my time, as I
aforementioned, my time at the EH has really enriched my character and ability
as a leader. As a direct result of this experience, and after careful
consideration, I have decided to further my personal interests and professional
goals by continuing work at college on a full-time basis.
Once again, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to those in the Emperors
Hammer, who have help me in arriving at this decision. I am excited to take this
step forward in my real-life commitments and sincerely hope that the Emperors
Hammer supports my endeavours.
Upon completion of my degree program, should the EH find need for my skills, I
would of course consider returning to this fine organisation. Until that time, I
wish you nothing but continued success.
Yours sincerely,
Admiral QuaKe Kinslayer Harlander II, President of the Corporate

<Salute>
This may seem to be some repetitive reading for some of you. I must urge that
this is not a rash decision;
I have thought this decision through and I think that this is the best course of
action.
In business people talk of being promoted above their depth. In my case I think
that I made a good Executive Officer, but I think that Ive been promoted out
of my depth and into my current position.
Several months ago the Infiltrator Wing was a flourishing sub-group. I was lucky
enough to be the IW Executive Officer at that time. I was promoted to the
position of IW Commander after Admiral Morecos
retirement.
Since then the IW has turned for the worse, and I believe that this is largely
my fault. Ive made some
rash decisions, a lot of them Ive regretted. The IW is not nearly as good as
it was under Admiral Moreco,
and this is despite my best efforts.
When I took to position of Infiltrator Wing Commander I was going through an
exceptionally tough period of exams. Recently I received the results. While the
results were not bad, they could have been better. Now Im embarking on my
next set of courses and the IW is becoming a distraction to my studies, and
while I dont think Im losing the will to continue, its becoming far
more difficult. This is down to the Internet access at my college being very
limited, and the multitude of extra work that Im getting.
As you all know there have been several crises in the IW through recent weeks.
These were also largely my fault.
Resigning from the position that I can honestly say that Ive put my all into
is a difficult thing to do. I dont want to do it by any means, however my
shorting comings in the position and with my schoolwork piling up I feel that I
have to.
Finally, I have several requests to make. Firstly I would not like this letter
to be published on the EH news site, just simply that I resigned. Secondly I
would like to recommend Rear Admiral Mutilator, the current IW Flight and
Training Officer for two things, a very well deserved (his work as the IWFT, and
the on the IW website/roster) promotion to Vice Admiral and that he successes me
as the Infiltrator Wing Commander. He is an excellent command Officer, he has
proved this time and again through his time in the IW and I believe that he
would make an excellent IW Commander. Lastly, I would like to enter the
reserves.
It may not be my place to request such things, but these are my final
wishes.
I thank you for all the things that youve helped me with through my time as
the IW Commander and Im sorry that this is how I repay you.

To: Keiran Idanian
1.) Why did you try out for the part of Chewbacca?
I received a phone call after having played the Minotaun in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. The crew that I had worked with had recommended me for the part. It was a
very quick interview and George simply asked if I could do the part and I was away to fit costumes within an hour.
2.) What were your favorite things about portraying Chewbacca?
It was a challenge and I was working with some great actors. I was very young in the business and full of curiosity.....I still am.
3.) What were your least favorite things about portraying Chewbacca?
A suit that was my friend in Norway and my enemy in the Desert.
4.) How hot was the Chewie suit?
It was hot, but it was a knitted suit that could breath is there was moving air around. I managed but probably didn't smell that great most of the time.
5.) Out of all the Star Wars books you've read with Chewie in them, which one is your favorite and why?
That would be Rebel Dawn, the book where Chewie gets married and you get to go to his home planet and meet his friends and family.
6.) How did you feel about Chewie dying in Vector Prime?
What should I say here, I didn't like it, of course. No one that I've spoken with liked it either.
7.) As Chewie, did you ever feel like bonking Luke Skywalker over the head? Why?
No, I don't think so, should I have?? It certainly would have changed the movie.
8.) Would you ever want to be Chewie again?
Of course I would and here's where I get to put in my request to
the fans. Steve Sansweet, who can be reached through the
official Star Wars Website under the
Jedi Council, is in charge of Fan Relations. If you would like to see Chewie
return in Episode III, please write to Steve and tell him so. I thank you.
9.) What are your favorite hobbies, and why?
My hobbies at the moment are my dog Oscar the Rhodesian Ridgeback, my two cats Cuthbert and Emie, and my two teenage daughters, they keep me busy when I'm at home. I also
enjoy Do It Yourself projects around the house.
10.) What is your favorite book, and why?
Treasure Island
11.) What is your favorite movie, and why?
Star Wars and old westerns
12.) Out of everything you've been through with the Star Wars trilogy, would you do it again, if you had the
choice?
Absolutely. My life would have been completely different without it.
13.) Do you have any other projects that you are currently working on?
Yes, I will put on another big hairy suit this fall to play the title role in a film called Bigfoot.

Hi - here are my replies.
I trust you find them OK.
Greetings Mr. Sheard (AD Ozzel),
<salute>
My apologizes on the delay, with school and trying to get everything together the week can start to fly by really quick! :)
I would like to say that I really appreciate you doing this!
Here are the questions:
These questions are from some members of the Emperor's Hammer (3, 5), but most are from me. :)
1.) What are you're hobbies?
With three volumes of my memoirs already completed and a fourth having just been
commissioned, writing is certainly my main relaxation. But I also enjoy walking with
our dog, I play golf - not very well! - I fish and I enjoy watching sport - on TV! I don't
mean I like being crushed in crowds! Come to think of it I enjoy television a lot.
There are still good programmes being made and I love the old movies.
2.) When you saw Star Wars: A New Hope, did you ever think you'd be in the next one?
Oh dear! I don't think saw it before I made 'Empire'. I'd heard about it of course, but
when my agent rang and said they were making a sequel to the first (forth) one, neither
of us knew what the films were called. If I remember correctly my agent called them
'Star - something or other' and said there was a part in the new one which fitted nicely
in between the movie I'd just finished and a TV series I was due to start in a month's time.
She said that it wasn't much of a part but there was a rather nice death!
3.) How do you feel about being known as the guy who Vader strangled (Even though many others died the same way)?
As I've just said, the part fitted in between those other two engagements. If it had been
any longer I'd not have been free to do it. So, yes, I guess I liked the fact that Vader got
rid of me!
4.) Did you enjoy being the character of AD Ozzel and why?
Please don't think me flippant, but I have done over 800 TV productions and 44 feature
films. Ozzel was a part that I was offered, I played it to the best of my ability - as I always
do - and then I went on to the next engagement. I enjoyed my death, which I did in one
take, and I very much enjoy all the great folk I'm now meeting at conventions. These
gatherings are hugely enjoyable.
5.) Do you think that if Lucas had granted you Force Powers, you could've kicked Vader's ass?
I should think so, don't you?!
6.) Out of the forty movies you've been in, which one did you enjoy the most and why?
This is always a difficult question for me, because I've been very fortunate and found
something good in every part I've played - except one and you'll have to read my first book
to find the answer! But the movie with a wonderful location (Greece), great cast (Roger
Moore, who did the foreword to my first book, David Niven, Stephanie Powers, Elliott
Gould et al, good script, great part for me, was called 'Escape to Athena'.
7.) Out of the forty movies you've been in, which one did you least enjoy, and why?
'Holiday on the Buses' because I'd enjoyed doing the TV series on which it was based
and I'd have liked to do more in the movie. It was, however, very early on in my career.
8.) How do you feel about the Star Wars films (should they have been a little
different, in your opinion)?
I think number one took a wrong turning - I did a radio discussion recently about
'The Phantom Edit'. This guy - nobody knows who he is - has re-edited the film and
cut over 20 minutes, including as much as possible of J. J. Binks! My favourite and
George's as it happens is 'Empire' and not only because it includes the best screen
death ever!
9.) What was it like to work with Lucas and members of the Star Wars cast?
George did not of course direct 'Empire', but he was around all the time. A very nice, shy
man. As for the rest of the cast, we're still working very happily together at conventions
and loving it. We're all great friends.
10.) What made you want to become an actor and how did you go about doing it?
You know, I'm going to be a bit cheeky and recommend you to my wonderful first book,
'Yes, Mr. Bronson'! It's a great read, by the way. Suffice it to say here that I was born in
Aberdeen in Scotland, my Father was a Minister and put on little plays for the children of
his parish, and I trained at RADA - The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
11.) Did someone inspire you to become an actor? If so, who and why?
It's all in the book! But I did see a movie called 'The Wooden Horse' 20 times in the
same week when I was six!
12.) What is your favourite movie and why?
'The Wooden Horse' of course! To this day it remains everything for me. Perhaps it's
because I still see it with six year old eyes, I don't know, but I think it's perfect.
13.) Who is your favourite actor or actress and why?
Heck - I confess, time is getting a bit tight, so forgive me if I step quickly over these last
few.
Alistair Sim, Michael Hordern, Peter Finch, David Niven, Roger Moore - whatever he says, he's a very good film actor - and Judi Dench.
14.) What is your favourite book, and why?
Apart from mine you mean?! Winnie the Pooh - honestly!
15.) How do you feel about being an Honorary Member of the Emperor's Hammer?
Great - we must get together again soon. Why not come and see me at the Frankfurt
Book Fair (10th -12th October) or join us for the Dark Side Con in Muenster? I'll be
selling copies of my books there, too!
Again, thanks so much! Have a great day!
My pleasure - see Ya and Yours Aye,
Michael.

Recommendation for
GOE (FA AbsoluteK): 08.24.01
As Recommended By: Training
Officer (HA Astatine)
With the outgoing of a member, we have the chance to sit back, review
and reflect on what they've done, from the start to the end of their career. I've done this with the outgoing IO, AbsoluteK and have
decided to put forward this recommendation.
I've been in the EH three and a half years and without a doubt, AbsoluteK has been one of the best, if not
THE best Internet Officer I've seen in that time. While most IOs sat back and were content with
minor projects, he aggressively push internet technology to the masses of the EH. It reached the heights of the
hosting services on ehnet.org and emperorshammer.ca, providing members with fast, reliable hosting
free of banners, with accessable technical support and a feature set that put most other free providers to
shame. The Image Archive has grown to contain over 460 files, ranging from individual member photos
to graphic art. The VBScript course was a first, a collaboration between the Internet Office and the Training
Office (not easy considering the guy who's TO :P). This collaboration will hopefully be
fulfilled with a series of ASP, PHP and database design courses that will teach members the skills and knowledge required to make
database-driven websites, such technology that is used by some of the EH's biggest sites
(TC.org, DB site,
message boards). The Site of the Week (SOTW), once vilified has become a showcase for EH's finest web
designers, while careful awarding of the Commendation of Excellence (CoE) has further marked the best from the rest.
I think all this work and a few other things I haven't mentioned are justification enough for him to get a
GOE. His last promotion was also 6 months ago and I think this award would be the perfect way to say
"Thanks for all you've done" as well as to round off an exceptional, if unfortunately short, career.

Gentlemen;
I realize this letter is late in coming; that the changes
that this letter revolves around have already been made. However, I should wish
to formally announce that I hereby relinquish the position of Tactical Officer
to Fleet Admiral
Striker.
It has been great serving as a member of the Command Staff for the past few months; I would personally like to thank the Grand Admiral and the Executive Officer for
the opportunities laid before me.
To the rest of the fleet, I apologize. I realize that during my time the Tactical Office has often stagnated with the various aspects of the office. Of this I blame
only myself, and assure the fleet that under the new Tactical Officer, more will get done.
To the new Tactical Officer; I will be here, waiting to assist you in any way necessary, as is fit for a Command

Greetings Grand Admiral Ronin,
I'd like to tell you that I am finally back from my vacation in New York City.
But with my return I have had bad and sad news at home. a week before to leave for NYC, my father was recovered in a hospital cause he had so pain in his back. Few days
after he was recovered we discovered he was affected by a cancer at his spine. I didn't tell you before because I was hopping that it was a curable thing, but it isn't. Now today I was
able to talk with the docs and they says he has only few months ahead and I need to devote him all the time I can. I am resigning from all my positions around the EH and move to
reserves. I'll continue to work only as PCON of Alvaak because the DB it has
always my first though and what I care for in the EH and I need to work on it to concentrate on something else to relax. I am sorry that I am already resigning from my position of
CA:FC only after few months in charge but I am sure you can understand my reasons. I hereby recommend Crix as my replacement.
I know that Tron is doing a good job in this weeks of my absence, but I will pass to Tron my PCON position
If I'll not be able fulfill my duties of PCON. I am sorry but I must put on hold my WAP work cause I have no time to devote to it. I hope to be able to start it again at a later time.
For the last time.

Dear sir,
The Logistics Office has relaunched the Emperor's Hammer Polling Center. The new
URL is
http://iw.ehonline.org/LO/polls/polls.asp
! The way this new Center will work is to create different accounts for each EH
Member to track their votes and also to determine different statistics from
different, wings, ships, and subgroups. The EH Member will eventually be able to
place his history, his Imperial Census response, and his poll answers, along
with trivia submissions, poll ideas, and different file logs into one large
database through the administration feature. This is the hallmark site in EH
Record Keeping and Archival purposes. Special thanks goes to Vice Admiral
Crusader for creation of the polling center. It has been a long time coming but
the EH Polling Center is back along with the rest of the Logistics Offices'
statistical suites. Go to the site and get your self an account today! Be part
