HA Striker Resigns as Tactical Officer:  11.17.02
As Emailed From:  Former Tactical Officer (FA Striker)

Tactical Office

Greetings,

It has been several months now my performance as Tactical Officer has been degraded due to a new time-consuming RL job; I guess time has also lessened my enthusiasm to assume the position, with nearly 20 months overall of service as Tactical Officer, and three years and half of full time positions within the Tactical Office. During all these prosperous years, I have participated and directed all the changes I was willing to be done within this office, changes which have transformed an office dependent of the TAC's personality into an organized structure where team work has become a key word. I am proud of what has become the Tactical Office, but I guess it is becoming time to see some fresh blood at the head of this office, assuming also the fact that I can hardly assume the associated work load with my current situation.

I had planned to resign in past September when my new job began, with the eh.net server problem I delayed this decision to wait for the database to be fully operational, to not bring additional mess to an already troubled situation. The BSF system and associated FTP services are nearly fully working, and I will leave my position of Tactical Officer as soon as everything is working, and as soon as you have selected the future Tactical Officer. I do not plan to leave the EH, I guess I will continue my career in a less time-demanding position, where my competences and expertise can help the EH...

In the service of the Hammer,

TIE Corps Mention in Polish Gaming Magazine (CD Action):  11.17.02
As Submitted/Emailed From:  FM/MAJ Artyis/Sigma 3-4/Wing II/SSSD Sovereign

High Admiral Keiran Idanian, Sir.

I just thought you, Sir would like want to know, that there is a new TIE Corps recruitment note in the Polish computer games magazine CD- ction. It's in "Top 100 PC games" book added to the magazine (12/02), under TIE Fighter label. I don't know if it's able to gain the EH new Polish recruits, but CD-Action is very popular here (it sells 120 thousands copies a month at least), so there's quite a chance it really does.

cdaction111702.pdf (1.16 MB)

A rough translation of the note is as follows:

"Join the Fleet!

The Emperor's Hammer club has been found in 1994 in the United States. Early on it's been a meeting point for AOL users who, after completing all seven TIE Fighter battles (it's been before Defender of the Empire add-on), were looking for custom-made ones, but it's become a game fans' club quickly. It followed the military structure and consistently extended by its founder, William "Ronin" Call, it became eventually what is it now - the biggest association of X-Wing games fans over the Internet!

It's hard to indicate the one deciding factor, why over 6 thousand people scattered across all world is proud of being part of the Emperor's Hammer. Undoubtedly it may be over 300 custom-made battles and countless amount of free missions for X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. It's also important, that the club makes the opportunity to live an Imperial Fleet officer life and drive his virtual career. But probably its most important facet is an unique climate made by hundreds people coming from different countries and cultures, bound together with their enthusiasm for LucasArts space sims and... good fun. Dont wait any moment longer, then!

Type in www.emperorshammer.net into your browser and join us! The Empire needs you!"

You, Sir, will find the small, compressed .pdf of the page with the note attached. I'm also able to deliver a better, but larger (~1,2 MB) version if
requested.

I apologize for any grammar errors I made. Feel free to polish the text before its publication on emperorshammer.org site.

Remaining in service of the Empire,

Clone War Books:  11.16.02
As Emailed From:  Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)

Recon Office

As Copied from www.StarWars.com:

"Chronicling the Clone Wars - November 15, 2002

'This is just the beginning!' -- Count Dooku

For 25 years, Star Wars fans have wondered about the Clone Wars. With the release of Episode II, audiences witnessed the events that started that epic conflict, and now want to know what happens next.

Starting next year, LucasBooks is chronicling these historic events through a publishing program that covers the span of the Clone Wars. Through comics, adult novels, middle grade fiction, audio books, short stories and more, the story of the Clone Wars will unfold.

Clone War titles will be identified on the cover (for example, "A Clone Wars Novel"), marking it as one piece in a much larger puzzle. Some stories will describe the victories, losses and stalemates of the epic war. Others will use the Clone Wars as a dramatic backdrop to tell different types of tales. The publishing program will give fans a clearer picture of what has transpired between Episodes II and III in time for the next Star Wars film in 2005.

The ongoing Star Wars: Republic series from Dark Horse Comics will focus its attention on the Clone Wars, starting with the double-sized issue #50. Dark Horse will also release Star Wars: Jedi next year, four one-shots detailing the heroic efforts of key Jedi Knights during the war.

Del Rey Books will begin its Clone War coverage with Star Wars: Shatterpoint, a hardcover novel featuring Mace Windu by Matthew Stover due out in 2003. More Clone War novels and audio books are planned in both paperback and hardcover to be released over the next few years. Just announced is author William Dietz, who will be writing a stand-alone Clone War paperback novel due out in 2004.

Scholastic Inc. will continue to explore Boba Fett's youth in its series of middle grade books. Already, the first two hardcover books of the series take place in the days after the Battle of Geonosis. These two books (The Fight to Survive and Crossfire) will be released in paperback as part of the Clone Wars series, and will continue with the third book, Maze of Deception by Elizabeth Hand.

The Star Wars Insider will not only carry original short fiction tied into the various Clone War titles, but will also see the return of HoloNet News, now as a printed edition, with includes the official news the Republic and Separatist governments want you to read.

LucasArts Entertainment Company has already chronicled the earliest events of the war with their recently released Star Wars: The Clone Wars video game. Starting with the Battle of Geonosis, this game moves to other battlefields on distant worlds. Future titles are in the works with more Clone War action.

And this is only the beginning. These original and epic tales will not only tell of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku, but also introduce new heroes, villains, locations and technology that played pivotal roles in the Clone Wars.

Keep checking starwars.com for more developments in this exciting new program."

Greetings Sir,

I'm writing you because I just got the SW Homing Beacon and I found a rather funny news on it. It seems that now all our US's SW geeks could have a credit card with the pic of Darth Vader or the darn green puppet known as Yoda. I though it was fun enough to mail you for the EH news lol. Internet Office

Just a reminder to everybody to watch the Hawkeye II trailer which was released last week at http://hawkeye.ehnet.org/ !

This week we spent doing some more administrative duties, like taking care of message boards and sites. VA Leeson pleasantly surprised me with about 25 e-mails in my box the other day to site owners who are missing the EH Disclaimer and EH Privacy Policy links. Any site found not to have these links that has not fixed the problem within 2 weeks of receiving an e-mail from the IO pointing this out will be delisted from all official EH sites.

Ask for Hawkeye 2, we're inquiring with Orv and Dae Cam what their status is on the projects they're working on, and we hope to know soon.

HF Domain Report #82:  11.17.02
As Emailed From:  Prefect of the Legion (FM Ares)

Hammer's Fist (EH Stormtroopers)

Membership: 78 active, 206 total

1) With the CSMA being able to do what it wants, new course outlines are flooding in. Proposals include a sandtrooper, spacetrooper, and storm commando (special missions) for troop types, and outlines for a medic course (written by a guy who knows the stuff). Of course, the medic courses will be accompanied by disclaimers as to their suitability to real world application.

2) An interesting total conversion project for Star Wars: Rebellion is being done by SPL Nemesis Karrde. The conversion of this empire-building game will feature HF characters and equipment.

3) Another total conversion is being done for the new FPS, Unreal Tournament 2003. It is called "Troopers: Rise of the Rebellion" and allows play as either Empirial or Rebel troopers. What is very nice about this conversion is that it is almost tailor-made for the HF, featuring sandtroopers (among other troop types), which is what our own armor is based on. It would take very little tweaking to allow for rank and position-specific player skins in the game! The URL is: http://www.ut2003troopers.co.uk/

This means that our own conversion, UT:EH, is likely to end and instead I will modify and add on to "Troopers..." unless there is a loud enough chorus for continued development of UT:EH. The real difference between the two is that "Troopers..." is for UT2003 and UT:EH is for UT.

4) Lots more interesting stuff next week!

Greetings from the office of the Infiltrator Wing Commander!

A very busy week behind us. To cut the report as short as possible, I will get right down to business.

The Infiltrator Wing off duty pilot jackets have been fully completed thanks to the efforts of the Lt. Colonel Death of TIE Corps who has volunteered to complete this project for the Infiltrator Wing. The IW thanks you for your support and assistance as well as continuous support, because Lt. Death will continue to produce the IW off-duty pilot jackets by order. To get your pilot jacket just send the request email to LC Death at: Death-Privat@gmx.net. Thanks also go to the IWOC as well as other members of the IW Command Staff for their assistance with the creation of the jackets.

For his exemplary initiative and assistance to the Infiltrator Wing, LC Death is hereby awarded the first ever IW Medal of Support! The IW salutes you!

Medal of Support (MoS)
This medal is awarded to any person which contributes significantly to the Infiltrator Wing in any way but is not a member of the Infiltrator Wing. This medal is awarded by the IWCOM only.

Another grand IW project is nearing completion. The Infiltrator Wing Escort Division is just about ready to be opened. Escort Division Commander has already been appointed and it is Line Admiral Astix, the IWSO. Congrats!

Were you ever a member of the Naval Corps? Ever wanted to fly your own corvette, gunship, frigate or dreadnaught again? Well, the opportunity is here again- this time in the Infiltrator Wing. For those of you that have joined since the Naval Corps were disbanded, the NC provided every Emperor's Hammer member with the chance to command their own capital-class ship, ranging from Corvettes and Gunships to Interdictors and Strike Cruisers.

On December 1st, the Infiltrator Wing will see the opening of the Escort Division, a branch of the IW Strike Fleet that will once again allow all Emperors Hammer members to fly Corvettes, Gunships and Frigates against the scourge against Law and Order that is the New Republic. Members will become an integral part of the Infiltrator Wing's strike fleet, providing cover and additional firepower in support of some of the best heavy cruisers in the galaxy. You will work in squadrons of five officers, with four squadrons in each wing.

Activities in the Escort Division will include multiplayer CapShip skirmishes and mele, wargaming, fiction, single player CapShip free missions and battles, graphics creation, run-ons and many others. The small squadrons and wings mean that closer ties can be formed between Commanders and their pilots, and Escort Division Commander and Wing Commander positions will form the ideal experience-gaining position for any budding Ozzel or Piett.

Some of you may remember the Infiltrator Wing Support Division. This is not that. This is not even a rehash of the Support Division. This is a completely new art of war. Be part of it.

Join today at www.infiltrator-wing.org and transfer into the Escort Division on 1st December.

As far as the current state of the activity in the Infiltrator Wing is concerned, it is a bit low. With that in mind a series of competitions is being designed and the IWCS are hard at work to think up and organize interesting new competition that will give the IW pilots the pleasure of
flying for the Empire.

Presently, the IW WARGAMES competition has begun, all details can be located at: http://fullspeed.to/wargames

Finally, again, good news... it is time to select this months' Echelon Guardian!

This month, the honor goes to Commander Darkshadow of Enforcer squadron. He has been nominated for this honor by the IWOC himself and has been condemned for continuous activity, sportsmanship, participation & good conduct in the IW Melee.

Congratulations commander wear the EG with pride for it is the honor few ever receive.

Echelon Guardian (EG)
Each month, the Infiltrator Wing Commander selects a pilot whom they feel is an example of exemplary service and dedication to the IW. That pilot is then named Echelon Guardian for that month. A new pilot is generally picked after each month, but former Echelon Guardians are still permitted to wear the ribbon (not the full medal) as a reminder. This medal is awarded by the IWCOM.

Respectfully submitted,

Admiral NiksaVel,

Wearable EH Unit Patches:  11.04.02
As Emailed From:  FM/MAJ Mosh/Vampire 3-3/Wing XI/ISD Immortal

<Salute>

Sir. Having found a cheap manufacturer of woven patches whilst working in the middle east, I contacted Wing IX and Wing XI about ship patches with the design I've attached.

I've had a few replies expressing interest in these patches and a couple of alternate designs and thought it best to inform you and request permission to proceed. This would be absolutely a non-profit making venture.

XO Report 18:  11.10.02
As Emailed From:  Executive Officer (SA Astatine)

The main sticking point with the domain was the BSF system. However, after poking around a bit and talking with the former XO, Kawolski, it
seems the issue was with the component that handles the zipping and upzipping of the pilot files (hence, the hanging when submitting zipped
files). The component has been upgraded and I'm awaiting final testing from the TAC to verify its operation. At this stage, the rest of the site is effectively "operational" and once the BSF segment is working, I'll open the database fully and just fix errors as they happen.

Since some COs don't seem to know, I'll say this here. Reports have to be submitted to the database and to the FC and myself. I use the  reports in the database when checking who has and hasn't been submitting them, as well as tracking the historical progress of COs. It's just a
simple 2 minute job, copy-paste, so there's no excuse not to do it.

It seems I've let the NL slide again, bad me. I'll be focusing on getting back on schedule again since the database is mostly operational now. With the release of the Ep2 DVDs and videos, this will mean oodles of reviews for it. Or at least, I'm expecting lots of reviews. :P

That's about it.

High Court of Inquisitor (HCI) News:  11.06.02
As Emailed From:  TRIB/FA Talren Moreco/VSD Stalwart

<salute>

After the removal of two Inquisitors and the resignation of FA Darth Vader from the Court, I come to you today with happier news.

1. Appointment of a second Presiding INQ

For his long and outstanding service to the HCI, Fleet Admiral Brett is hereby promoted to the position of Presiding Inquisitor (P-INQ).
I am sure he will continue his great work in his new position. Congratulations!

2. Promotion of the Warden

In recognition of his excellent work at the HCI, his motivation, dedication and reliability, and also his long service to the Emperor's Hammer as a whole, HI Royal and myself would like to request the promotion of Admiral Danrik to the coveted rank of Fleet Admiral.
Both the HI and I believe he has more than earned this honor.

3. Readmission of Kromtal Stormfyld / Darknyte.

Kromtal Stormfyld / Darknyte has been readmitted into the Emperor's Hammer. I submit this information because Darknyte's readmission came as a result of a most unusual case.

After a long time, it turned out that Darknyte had NOT sneaked back into the EH using a clone after his persona Kromtal Stormfyld had been expelled.

Therefore, the expulsion of the persona Darknyte without a trial had been a serious mistake, and I believe the HCI owes Darknyte an apology for this.

Accordingly, he was allowed to retain all his medals and IWATS courses; the Notice of Imperial Remandation that had been issued for Kromtal Stormfyld has been revoked.

For other violations however, Darknyte has been readmitted at a lower rank (LCM) than at his former rank (CPT), and has been placed on a probationary period ending 30th June 2003.

Respectfully submitted,

Tactical Office Report #63:  11.05.02
As Emailed From:  CA:TAC/ Marcin "Mike" Szydlowski

Tactical Office

Hello and welcome to this delayed Tac Office report. This is 63th report from our office, also first I write as Admiral. So, let's go.

1. New battles and missions

Thanks to hard work of Tactical Staff, I've added many new battles to the database: 2 CABs, 2 XvT-TCs, etc. Even now, I've 2 battles waiting for me to add them. And more will be coming soon. I am sure we will hit TAC3K soon. At the moment, mission compendium contains 2558 missions.

2. New testers/engineers sought

I am looking for three new XvT/BoP testers and two XvT/BoP engineers. All requirements are posted on Mission Creation forum, and can be found here. Read them before applying. Remember. Tac Office offers great awards for hard working people, but I don't tolerate any laziness. I don't care if you are top gun pilot or kick-ass CMDR. When you join office, you work for me. You agree to my rules, you go. You don't, I kick you out. HA Striker gave me full access and superiority over beta testing process cause he trusts my judgment. I hope that is understood.

3. One word to testers

Recently I've seen one of testers mailing me and demanding his award. I considered it joke. Hear this CFB people. This is not Senate. Beta points are only guide for TCHC. Ultimately, either me or HA Striker decides about your awards. Consider this warning. I award medals when I've time, but we all have RL. I am not going to sit on IRC 24hr/day and listen to your requests. This is not going to happen. Next time, I'll hear any Tac Office member comments decisions of mine or HA Striker, or even any of TCCs, next time, I'll hear testers demanding or bitching and moaning about awards, this person will be sent to Security Officer under violation of articles: 403 and 408. I hope that is clear.

4. One word:

Remember that HA Striker is very busy man. It's very hard to catch him on IRC. Remember to send me all new battles you submit. It will only speed up entire process. If you have any questions, mail me.

5. "Dark Blades" competition

Remember that our level-creation competition is still on. Submit your stuff to HA Striker, cc me. You can win nice medals.

And that would be all for this week. Cya later.

Operations Office

Okay!

Medals are awardable as of now.

The XO Wants all medals awarded, so we won't be doin' the day-per-ship thing...so...bring on the medals!

On that note, make sure all medals are done PROPERLY. Proper reasons, MSE's, with real examples of activity. If your medal gets denied, it probably was denied because there wasn't enough information in the recommendation. And I don't have time to write long denial reasons at this time, so just do it right, and save us all a little bit of time and effort.

Second, squadron patches: The first squadron to get its patch approved was Typhoon Squadron (from Wing X, ISD Challenge). Congratulations! Remember, all patches must be sent to my OPSA, Commander Tempest ( EH_Tempest@gmx.net ), and CC'd to myself ( howlader@shaw.ca ), otherwise they're be denied. Also, to see the guidelines for squadron patches, consult the OPS Site on Regulations

Flight Office

Greetings all and welcome to this week's report from the Flight Office...

News -

- I've decided to appoint a new Command Attach. Congratulations go out to Admiral Cyric, the former ASF Battlegroup Commander. He'll be helping me out with various administrative duties, but NOT in the general upkeep of the rosters. This means that you DON'T have to CC him on routine emails to me.

- There have also been a fair number of Flag appointments in the past couple of days:

Vice Admiral Brakka retired as COM of the ISD Intrepid. Taking his place is Rear Admiral Wil Striker, the former Wing Commander on the Intrepid. Striker's replacement is Colonel Duncan Idaho.

A new Wing Commander for Wing XIII has also been selected, Major Hev Randrowan.

Congratulations to all the above.

- Rear Admiral Ekim has resigned as the Commodore of the ISD Vanguard. Applications are being accepted and should be sent to Darksaber@ehnet.org and erik@e-sjop.nl ASAP.

- Whilst the majority of the database functions are operating, it's still not open to the general membership for use. Please be patient while everything is brought back up to speed.

CMDRs+ please note that you can still make all the usual roster changes by emailing them to me directly.

- I'm still behind on marking SM/III tests. Patience says Boo.

That's all.

Hawkeye II Trailer:  11.08.02
As Emailed From:  Internet Officer (FA Ari)

The Internet Office is finally proud to present after many delays, the trailer to the upcoming Project Hawkeye II: Uprising. The trailer, completely created digitally, is the product of hours of hard work by Leeson and Ender mBind. You can view the trailer at http://hawkeye.ehnet.org/. The trailer requires the DivX 5.02 codec, which you can download at http://www.divx.com. Believe me, it's worth the small effort !

Science Office Report #10:  11.07.02
As Emailed From:  Science Officer (AD Ender mBind)

Science Office

"Any smoothly functioning technology will have the appearance of magic."

<salute>

Welcome to my tenth public report as a Science Officer, not really on time *cough* because I was planning to run a little competition but that has been postponed till all the database stuff is a bit more done (Ok and I got a bit much into mission creation ;))

Science Office News:

1. These days I've been looking into various forms of mission "bugs" and other anomalies. For this I've been making a few "follies" as missions for  XWA, XvT and TIE with as main goal to check out a few more of the "unknowns" and such. I also looked into a different TIE editor then our common TFW, TIEd. A few things that came up out of all of this and that can be of help to our mission creators:

-In XvT and TIE docking craft will not dock to containers and such that have orders other then "await boarding" or "hold steady" and such. If a
container or other craft has an order like "Self Destruct" a boarding craft will keep "Looking for craft to board" even if its target is straight ahead
of it.

-The "Self Destruct" order of XvT has a bug in its timer after 5 minutes of waiting, and often before that already. If you want a craft to first wait
and then self destruct you are advised to actually use a wait order first.

-TIE missions made with TIEd and TFW are not compatible. TFW will mess up (wipe out or crash) a TIEd mission briefing, where as TIEd will give you a "Range Check Error" on missions made with TFW. This is because

-TIEd has limitations on amounts of Flight Groups that can be set up in one mission and limitations on the amount of briefing orders (so no "Drake-like" briefings are possible.). However, TIEd does offer as advantage that it fully supports "Super groups" (Global Groups) where as TFW does not. It also has an easier interface for those that are used to XW-ed, XvTed and Allied.

-Apparently all TIE editors go by on many "unknowns" and other triggers. This is especially obvious after conversion to XvT, after which suddenly
many unknown triggers appear where TIE editors show nothing at all.

2. The Emperor's Hammer AGI games project is actually proceeding nicely, due to the efforts of Khadgar - who is writing a guide for us. He has also made several characters already that can be used for EH games, like several Imperial Officers and even the Fleet Commander. I myself have been looking into making backgrounds and rooms and of both I've included a screenshot. I think that if it continues like this we might be able to present a (simple) adventure game by the holidays/the EH's birthday.

3. The Jedifighter OPT for XWA has been put on hold for a bit, which also affects the craft for Clan Alvaak (Which looks like a more vicious, updated jedifighter). The textures are mostly finished, as is the rest of the OPT, but because of the design its creating bugs in XWA currently (the front becomes transparent at some angles). These can be fixed; it will just take a bit longer.

4. For reference I'll like to point everyone to a very helpful site on the creation of BoP and XWA cut scenes:

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~john22/

These can add a lot of "extra" to any battle. To get movies that look as if they were taken straight from the game itself, there's a converter now that makes 3ds files out of opts and back again! Get it at http://www.geocities.com/v_d_d/

5. Ok, that comp I'm planning is a little SCO webhunt - more news on this spot the moment it's approved by the Training Officer and such.

Science Office Status:

CA: Admiral Darkhill has not been seen for quite a while I hope he's alright; last times he disappeared he had very unfortunate reasons indeed. :/

SCOA: Major Shadd has been looking into the creation of cockpits for TIE and XvT using tieedit 1.28. If you want to do so as well, check out
http://www.geocities.com/hal1234_2000/tutorial.html its pretty easy. :)

Site: The Science Office site can be found at http://sco.minos.net or via the redirect http://scienceoffice.isCool.net. No major updates this week besides updates to the project pages and reports. Working on a new Order of Battle layout, as the current one is pretty outdated.

Science Office Projects:

XvT/BoP/TIE95 Ship patches: This project's goal is to add all the original and Order of Battle craft that are still "missing" from these games, like
the SSD in TIE and XvT, the Medium Transport in all etc. Several of these will be finished soon for my own TIE Fighter battle at least; these include
the Bulk Cruiser, Assault Frigate and others.

XWA Ship patches: Primarily the plan is to clear out the backlog of craft arranged by earlier SCO's and such, like the Trithan Interceptor (Kermee), the Hyperion (Den), the Alvaakian Craft (me) and the new fighter for Avenger Squadron (AES). The Trithan Interceptor and Hyperion are now ready, working on the Jedi Fighter before I continue to the Alvaak Fighter, as that's based on it.

XWA Enemy Ship Packs: The plan is to create several multi-ship patches that install 5 different enemy craft of a particular theme at once on the same 5 slots for each pack. The first pack is that based on the "Genko System" (2 fighters, a transport a capital ship and a platform.). Modelling is 80% done, texturing 25%. Further texturing is on hold for the Ship patches projects to clear but can be finished shortly after that.

Emperor's Hammer Adventure Games: Khadgar has made process on a beginners guide to AGI/SCI which should greatly help along this project to make it possible to create EH games in the style of "Space Quest", "Kings Quest" or "Leisure Suit Larry". If you are interested in making these games as well, try all the guides linked and cached at http://www.agidev.com/tut.html

Finishing up:

I think that's it - If I've forgotten anything or if you have comments, suggestions or corrections, let me know via email. Don't forget that all the
projects are described in more detail on the SCO site.

(Use only mindb_ender@hotmail.com for official SCO mails.) or ICQ (9706474). Preferably do not mail large files to me, but DCC them via IRC - I'm practically always online at #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps using the nick MindB_ndr (or variations.)

All my SCO reports are available online as well: you can reach them on the SCO site: http://www.minos.net/~sco/reports/index.html. The moment the TC database is back online they will be posted there as well. I'm going to do that next:

Until next time, good luck and have fun!

The BHG - Weekly Report:  11.08.02
As Emailed From:  Dark Prince (Trench)

The Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG)

WEEKLY ROSTER COUNT: 360

Sirs,

The big news to report this week is that the two vacant Commission positions, Specialist and Executor have been filled. Better yet, they've been filled by some of the BHG's new blood: first-time Commissioners.

Please welcome Skorbacca to the position of Specialist, and Dalk Darklighter to that of Executor.

Both candidates were chosen out of an eager pool of applicants for their ability and willingness to do what is required of them. They have both demonstrated their ability well as Chiefs and leaders of the BHG, and it is with pleasure that I appoint them to these important jobs.

That is the biggest news for this week. In some other news, new Adjunct Darth Shadow is planning a merits/flaws competition for the role play system.  Judicator Ehart reports that, as soon as the webpage for it is fixed, the Kabal Authority Games will resume with all their past ferocity.

Respectfully submitted,

Dark Prince Trench

Loss of a Friend of the FC (Joseph Kane), "Co-Founder of the EH":  11.01.02
As Submitted From:  Fleet Commander (GA Ronin)

Fellow Imperial Citizens,

I had received some bad news that has some impact on the EH, although probably no one in the EH realizes it...

On 10.21.02, I lost a good friend of mine (Joe Kane) who was instrumental in the early days of the EH to help develop/design its structure, strategies, Bylaws, etc. I went to his funeral on 10.30.02.

His name first appeared in NL #10 (02.24.95)...Although he was with me from the very beginning (and thought I was a bit nuts then too :)

Imperial Advisors

ISB Liason Officer/Counselor: General Johann Kane (No pilot position in the Wing)

ISB Liason Officer/Counselor (ISBLO) - The ISBLO is the Primary Counselor to the Wing Commander on the development of the overall plot/story line for the Emperor's Hammer. The ISBLO's contributions include fictional character development and target objectives for the Hammer. The current ISBLO is a personal offline friend of the WC.

Not only was he was one of my two closest friends and an usher in my wedding, but he was often my only "sounding board" for various early ideas I had for the EH. He was part of the reason the EH is what it is. His sudden death has hit me hard...(he was only 46).

In his honor, I have decided to award Joe Kane the EH Medal of Honor (posthumous)...

(Please review the Operations Manual for EH medal descriptions)

He will be sorely missed...I just thought the Membership should know...All I ask is that you "raise a glass" to him...that's what he would have wanted...:)

COMM Report #33 - 10/27/02

Haha, two weeks in a row... we're on a roll! Here's our news...

COMMA's:

We still need COMMA's... if you are interested, please take a look at COMM Report #32 on October 13. Email myself and my CA at teeps10@alltel.net and przblucher@aol.com.

CA:COMM:

Andy is still experiencing computer issues, so he is on temporary leave until his custom-made rig is delivered. The latest status update I have
from Andy is that his computer will be delivered in one week.

Hostmasking:

There is no official CoC regarding hostmasking using the new X usermode, but if you use X hostmasking to evade a ban, we will throw the book at you for ban evasion. Usermode +x its an obvious venue for premeditated ban evasion, and it will not be tolerated. So when in doubt... just use your normal hostmask... your tinfoil helmets are enough to keep the NSA from spying on you. >:P

Website:

I PROMISE an update and added content by the weekend. Thursday is a distinct possibility.

Projects:

Andy and I are kicking around a few ideas for projects... official proposals to be made to Ronin by the weekend.

This coming weekend:

Halloween weekend is like a national holiday here at OU, so between Thursday the 31 after class and Monday morning on the 4th, I will be on
leave. Laugh if you want but with everything going on here there's no way I can fly above the radar those four days. >:P Report #34 will be released Thursday night to prevent not getting a report out that weekend.

OK, that's all for this week... thanks for reading, have a good week everyone!

Security Office Report:  11.01.02
As Emailed From:  Security Officer (FA Brad)

Security Office

First of all, I would like to post a reminder to all channel operators in EH channels. Read and follow the Codes of Conduct. If you are on
IRC and away or not able to check the channel, deop yourself. You do not have to be opped all of the time. It helps the Communications
Officer and me if we can tell if there are ops in the channel active at the time. Moderating IRC channels all of the time is one of the hardest
tasks for EH officers. Try to ensure that when you are active in the channel that Codes of Conduct are followed. Those who are not ops can
always log IRC channels and report violations to me. This is especially important when there are no active operators in the channel. Channel
operators have a '@' symbol before their nickname. Those with a '+' before their name do not have privileges to ban or kick people in the
channel. They can only talk when the channel is set to +m (moderated) mode.

The SO page is up. I lost PHP functionality though. Also I'm currently unable to post images. I'm waiting on FA Stalker5 to fix the permissions to let me have images. I hope to gain PHP-based news functionality again also. Everything is plain HTML now. I did add more information that is useful to members. Check out the FAQ, SubGroup Security, and Regulations pages. They are new to the office.

I had a few complaints come in this week. Two are under investigation. I also have a few ongoing investigations, which now are at a
standstill. Kal-Ket pleaded guilty to the HCI. Check their page for information on his punishment.

http://www.minos.net/~moreco/hci/news.php

I encourage ALL EH members to use and update their virus scanning software. Also be sure to scan it at least once a month. For those who
are able to afford such software and don't have it, please do so. We have had many viruses going through to EH member's e-mails because of
those in their address books (especially Command Staff officers). FA Ari ( io@emperorshammer.org ) has been collecting e-mail headers of those
who have the Klez virus. Please do not send those e-mails to me.

Another thing you can do (for those who have Windows), Use the Windows Update to download and install all of the critical updates. This also
secures your computer against known methods of unauthorized access, for which Microsoft made a patch. Go online and click on the Start Menu and go to Settings or Programs, Accessories, System Tools to find Windows Update, or with your Internet Explorer browser, go to:

INFILTRATOR WING COMMANDER WEEKLY REPORT #28
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
DATE: 25. 10. 2002.
IW URL: http://www.infiltrator-wing.org
IW ROSTERS: http://www.infiltrator-wing.org/rosters/fleet.php
IW COMBAT CENTER: http://cc.infiltrator-wing.org
IWCOM OFFICE: http://iwcom.minos.net
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Membership Count: 91
Change from last week: -9
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings from the office of the Infiltrator Wing Commander!

This first thing to notice is the roster drop. This is a planned action taken by the IW Flight Officer, enforcing stricter AWOL checks to root out inactivity. In accordance with the AWOLing of inactive membership, Wing I will be temporarily shut down for further membership with Ares and Shadow squadron moved to the remaining two wings for the period of time while the membership numbers regenerate.

Another way that we will combat inactivity is organizing a wide array of various competitions and other areas of activity for the members of the Infiltrator Wing. Of course, if you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to email me directly at nikola.leder@medri.hr. I am always pleased to hear some suggestions or critics.

In other news, the several larger projects we have undertaken are nearing completion. Expect updated versions of the IW Pilot Manual, IW Operations Manual as well as the IW Guard Manual.

The Infiltrator Wing Guard is starting to show some good activity, I am most pleased to see this. I would also like to hereby award Captain of the Guard, Captain Mad Hatter with the Legion of Merit in recognition of his excellent service since his appointment to the position. Keep up the good work!

On to next big news, as you all know, the last Commodore of the MC-90 Warspite has been removed from his position. After the applications for the position were received this week, it is my pleasure to appoint the new commodore of this fine ship.

After his lengthy and exemplary service as the Wing commander of wing III, I most pleased to promote Colonel Tomaas Banys to the position of the Warspite commodore and to the rank of General! The rank of the Brevet Admiral will be awarded as soon as the ComEx is completed.

Congratulations General! You truly deserved this promotion, keep up the good work!

Your first orders are to find yourself a new Wing Commander for Wing III. I want the applications to start ASAP.

Respectfully submitted,

PREX Corporate Division Report #1:  10.26.02
As Emailed From:  President of the Corporate Division (VA Nav'ric Trow)

Corporate Division (CD)

Welcome to Prex Report #1 under myself, certainly a lot happening this week.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The roster received a heavy clean out this week, so we have a much more accurate roster count.

Total - 32 (66 including Reserves)
Direx and Trade Assembly Command - 6
Trade Assembly - 26
Reserves - 34

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

1. For his service as Prex of the Corporate Division, AD Dark Angel has been awarded the Direx Board Medallion! Thanks for your great work and commitment towards the Corporate Division Angel!

2. One of the first things that happened this week was the appointment of a new Executive Vice President (VPX). After considering possible VPX's, I came to the decision of appointing a member that has proven himself over the past year and a half to be a dedicated, highly active and a truly excellent leader. Commissar General Reb Crush has been appointed as VPX, congrats mate. :-)

3. With Reb's elevation into the Direx Board, Solaris System's CEO position was left open. His replacement wasn't exactly a hard decision, since Dash has been the only DC that SSY has ever had. Congrats to the new SSY CEO, MWO Dash!

4. CP Thorin stepped aside also this week to allow Warrant Officer Monsh Fesou to take over one of his CEO positions. Congrats to the new FIC CEO Monsh!

5. I've decided on a new Chairman of the Trade Assembly. It was a seriously hard decision to make, but i've made it and here's the results. Congrats to CHMN Thorin Oakenshield! Thorin is now on a 3 month evaluation period as CHMN. After those 3 months, he may stay on or another CHMN selected. Good luck Thorin!

6. The Corporate Division manual received a MUCH needed update this week. Two of the main changes is that Recruitment section now contains the training process that will be implemented within the new few weeks hopefully, also added was the Procedures section, which includes important information on how to correctly request promotions, awards, transfers etc. When it's released, read it!

7. One thing I want to highlight in this report. Use the message board people! It's starting a revival at the moment, so everyone join in. Plus, i'll be adding important announcement/news stuff there so it'll be in your own interest to check it often.

URL: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewforum.php?f=5

8. Corporate Division meetings are making a comeback. Yup, in order to help communications and making sure people know what's happening, we're starting the meetings again. They'll be held in #corporate_division every Sunday at 8pm GMT. Try to make it, it's a chance to talk to other CD'ers as well. Also, a 1000 IC reward for people attending the whole thing is being awarded. Trivia is also going to be provided after each meeting later on (with the reward being credits), but at the moment we're looking for a 'trivia master' to provide questions.

9. Coming soon is a new 'game' that is open to all iBank users! Who Wants To Be a Thousandaire. Yup, you've guessed what the layout and rules are going to be like. Soon enough, VPB Darkheart will be sending out an email saying that he is accepting contestant applications. The first 10 to reply will be selected and allowed to take part in the game. This is going to be a monthly competition, so if you don't get in this week, try again next month.

10. Money Magazine will be released in ANN, as well as many other CD items that have been submitted. Keep and eye out for them people!

11. One last thing, a new policy has been added. When appointed to a command position, that's DC all the way up to the Direx, you won't be given the positions minimum rank until you've proven yourself capable of fulfilling its duties. After that, if you resign within 5 months, you'll be sent away with the rank you had before being appointed into that position. This is mainly because rank now carries a higer value when credits are awarded, meaning people have to work harder for those extra credits. ;-)

That's the news done!

1) The Tu'atheri Regency is still being run due to change of CHS and such....people don't seem to understand the fact that they must resubmit
items to me because the former CHS didn't send them to me :)

2) Applications for the Moderates PL will soon be accepted. I will be submitting the reqs soon.

3) I apologize for my random leaving and lack of activity...I had a weekend trip last week that I had forgot about until an hour before I had to
leave...eepah. Midterms started this week so I've been an internet recluse. Things should pick up again shortly :) In the mean time, listen to what the good DCH tells you.

::Projects::

I'm still working on 'Operation Cash Cow' which will be used to re-do the Senate Database (again) thus giving it ultra-admin powers. *lights flash and petals fall from the ceiling*.

I'm also working on the IU site with Atican. w00t.

Artist/EH Honorary Commander Joe Corroney will be coming for an Chat/IRC interview with the EH Membership on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 1 PM EST...!!!

Hi Kieran

Here it is... finally! ;) Let me know what you think. Talk to you soon!

-Joe

Greetings Mr. Joe Corroney,

Here is the interview. I was waiting for a while just to not seem like I was spamming your inbox! :) Take your time with it, and again, thanks a lot!

1.) When did you want to become an artist, and why?

I've actually been drawing since before I can remember so I'm not sure if there's an exact reason that led me to become an artist. Drawing has always been with me. I know that Star Wars definitely inspired me at an early age. After I saw the movie in 1977, I was four years old, I came home and started drawing scenes from the film on paper with crayons and also had the comic book adaptation of the film that Marvel Comics had released. That was one of my very first comic books actually so I started drawing pictures from that also. The comic book helped me relive the magic of the movie so I was always inspired to draw from it. It was also responsible for inspiring me to pursue a career in comic books too. I guess my parents saw some potential in my artwork and put me in private art classes at an early age and later Saturday art school courses which I really enjoyed.

2.) Who are your inspirations?

Most of my inspirations are actually comic book artists. People like Jack Kirby, John Byrne, Frank Miller, John Romita Jr., John Buscema, Mike Zeck, Berni Wrightson, Jan Duursema, and Tom Mandrake.

3.) What is your favorite book, and why?

Wow, can it be a comic book or graphic novel? I don't really read too many actual novels. The last book I read years ago that I really enjoyed was Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. I'd have to say my favorite (comic) book is 'The Dark Knight Returns' by Frank Miller or 'The Watchmen' by Alan Moore Dave Gibbons. Though I love to use my imagination, I tend to be more visually stimulated so that's why I love comic books and movies so much.

4.) What is your favorite movie, and why?

My favorite movie? Do you have to ask? Just kidding! Of course it's Star Wars. I mean The Empire Strikes Back is great and probably a superior movie visually and artistically, but the first one is so magical and was so unique. It was the first time anything like it really played on the screen. There still hasn't really been anything quite like it actually. All of the other Episodes come close so far and I love them all too, even 'The Phantom Menace', but 'A New Hope' was just the perfect movie. Especially growing up with it as kid made it more special. A close second for me would be Raiders of the Lost Ark.

5.) Where did you first see Star Wars?

That was back home with my parents in Indianapolis, Indiana where I grew up. It was summer of 1977. The theatres I actually saw it in aren't even around anymore. I saw it a number of times as a child cause my mom or dad would keep taking me so see it since they really enjoyed it too.

6.) What made you decide to paint many different Star Wars images?

I had just graduated art college with my illustration degree and was trying to make a living at drawing and painting however and wherever I could. It was really a goal of mine to want to become and artist for West End Games Star Wars RPG and pursue a career as a freelance illustrator for them. Once I started working for WEG, they kept giving me more and more Star Wars projects to do since they were really happy with my work. I really love Star Wars and have always poured my heart into my artwork for it. When I was working for WEG originally there's no way I would have imagined I'd have this much continued success and happiness in working on the property for Lucasfilm this long. As long as the assignments keep coming in and Lucasfilm is happy with my work it's not a hard decision for me at all to be enthusiastic to continue painting and drawing Star Wars.

7.) What is your favorite thing about Star Wars, and why?

My favorite thing about Star Wars is essentially the story and relationships. Initially, as a kid, it was more specifically about the amazing special effects, the action and the great characters themselves. But as I got older, there were more and different things to like about the trilogy that made it so fun to love. Star Wars works on so many different levels. As a kid, it's just great fun. It's magical at that age. When you get older and watch it, and if you still have an imagination and aren't too cynical as an adult, the mythology of it all becomes appealing. Not to mention the artistic merits of the movies too. It really deals with universal themes too, like good and evil, which will always be interesting to me.

8.) What are some of your hobbies, and why do you like them?

I love going to the movies since it inspires me in my own work as a storyteller. Good movies, bad movies, B-Movies, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, action - I love them all. I find I can always learn something about my own work, whether its storytelling through visuals, framing my scenes, page design in my comic book work or just writing for own stories. I love music too so I along with my dvd collection I have way too many cds. Though the past year, my hobby has been more about downloading the music I want online since it saves me a little bit of cash that way. I also love playing my X-Box when I get the chance. I just bought 'The Thing' and have been playing that and I love 'Dead or Alive 3'. I can't wait for 'Jedi Knight' to hit the platforms soon along with 'Knights of the Old Republic' and 'Star Wars Galaxies'. I love rpg video games though I tend to never finish them or seem them all the way through because I end up getting too busy. I've got a GameCube too so I can't wait for 'Bounty Hunter' and 'Clone Wars' which comes out soon. There's just way too many cool Star Wars games coming out that could slow me down in my work. I've got to be careful!

9.) What is your favorite thing about being an artist?

That's easy. I make my own hours and I'm my own boss. I don't have to 'punch in' every morning and work with people I don't like or work on projects that don't fulfill me. I love what I do. I'm able to satisfy myself both professionally and creatively at the same time by getting paid to use my imagination. I feel really lucky that way. It's definitely not about the fame since I still consider myself to be just another Star Wars artist in the realm of hundreds of working artists out there who are more successful than me. And it's not about the money either. When the work isn't coming in and the projects aren't lining up or the art director's aren't calling, my checking account can get get pretty thin sometimes. It's really competitive too so sometimes I have to put in alot of my own time and energy to get my name out there and tackle the projects I really want to be a part of. But when it's good, it can be really good. It's the life of a freelancer. I wouldn't trade it in for anything.

10.) Do you have any current projects that you are working on that you are allowed to talk about?

I actually just finished a project for Star Wars Insider that will be appearing in issue 65, due out in January I believe. I think fans of your site will *especially* be interested in it because of some of the great characters I got to illustrate for it. You could say the project was really tailor made for fans and visitors of your site so I have a feeling that you're really going to like it. That's all I can really say about it so you'll have to pick up the magazine early next year. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks of it when it comes out so be sure to drop me a line at my official website, www.joecorroney.com. I'm hoping to do some more work for Insider soon and possibly have another project lined up there with my art director. I'm also getting ready to do something for New Line Cinema on Lord of the Rings. That's *really* top secret right now but I'm really excited about the project.

11.) What images did you design that you are most proud of, and why?

One of the Star Wars pieces I'm most proud of is also one of my newest pieces. It was a cover painting I collaborated on with another Star Wars artist Jeff Carlisle (be sure to check out his website at www.jeffcarlisle.com ). It was for an international Star Wars fan publication called 'Echo Base Magazine'. It features a montage of Vader, Anakin from Episode II and Luke. I was really pleased with how that piece turned out. Also, I'm really proud of my latest work for Insider so I can't wait to see that come out. I did some illustrations for the 'Power of the Jedi Sourcebook' which was released earlier this year. I really had alot of fun with those drawing my Jedi character, Kai Justiss fighting and interacting with various monsters and creatures. Another illustration I'm proud of that also features Kai is 'Kashyyyk in Flames' which appeared in Star Wars Gamer #4.

12.) What kind of music do you like?

Rock, alternative, heavy metal and film soundtracks mainly. I still listen to some classic rock occasionally but not as much as I did back in high school. There's always room for a little country, blues, some pop sometimes. Everything I guess. It's all rock n' roll to me really.

13.) Who is your favorite band, and why?

My favorite band, the one that I get the most out of artistically is probably Soundgarden. Chris Cornell is my favorite musician, he's just so talented. I love his songwriting and his singing his amazing, he's got the best voice in rock, along with Maynard Keenan from Tool, one of my other favorite bands. I really love Rage Against the Machine too so you can imagine I'm really looking forward to the Cornell and Rage collaboration, Audioslave, coming out next month. Though I've been listening to the demos for the album for a few months now. Probably my second favorite band behind Soundgarden is Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor is amazing. I've been listening to alot of NIN for the past three years and it never seems to leave my cd player. I like Rob Zombie alot too, everything from White Zombie to his latest album. I also really dig Chris Isaak too. I've been listening to all of the music from Cowboy Bebop alot lately, something like 96 tracks in total. What I like about the series is it's use of jazz, blues, pop, western, rock, country and indigenous forms of Asian music blended so seamlessly from show to show. The way each show is edited to the musical themes, numbers and cues is always brilliant. i really love that show.

14.) Who is your favorite painter, and why?

It's probably Ralph McQuarrie. He really defined the visual look of Star Wars. He's primarily responsible for creating the look and feel of all the films and the characters so I have tons of admiration for his unique imagination and skills. I was really floored when I saw some of his originals for the first time in 1998 at the Smithsonian when the Magic of Myth exhibit debuted. I pictured them to be so much larger after seeing them printed in numerous books over the years but they weren't that large at all. Seeing his technique with gouache in person looked so tight on those paintings. It was amazing.

15.) Who is your favorite character in Star Wars (movies and books), and why?

It used to be Luke when I was younger. I could identify with his desire to accomplish something big with his life, wanting to have adventure and walk the right path. When I got a little older it was Han since he existed a little more in the grey area. He wasn't always right, though he tried to be. That's realistic and identifiable when you're an adult. But Qui-Gon Jinn is probably my favorite character now. For years we've been hearing and wondering how powerful and cool the Jedi truly were in their prime and Qui-Gon really set the stage for that. He was a 'talk softly, carry a big lightsaber' kind of guy that adhered to his own codes but still followed the Jedi path. That's admirable.

16.) What do you think about the Emperor's Hammer?

A site devoted to Star Wars gaming with an emphasis on the Darkside. What's not to like? I really dig it!

17.) How do you feel about being an honorary member of the Emperor's Hammer?

I'm really flattered to be included in such an esteemed list of honorary members and to be associated with such a cool Star Wars website! Thanks for noticing and supporting my work too!

XO Report/EH.Net Update:  10.18.02
As Emailed From:  Executive Officer (SA Astatine)

The domain was moved to another server over the course of the week to get a mail component working. As it turns out, that didn't fix  anything, so I've ended up paying for the component myself. It was either this or rewrite all the mailing code. I don't really think this is the time for experimentation, so I got the component. Hopefully, it'll be installed over the weekend. Functionally, the site seems to be able to read data from the database okay. I've yet to fully test the adding/editing/deleting of data. Unzipped TIE BSFs went through okay but the site seemed to crash when testing a zipped BSF. Uniform uploading works. Also, the news@eh.net address is working again, so if you have any news you want posted, send it to that address.

Newsletter 87 has been released with 88 and 89 to follow shortly. I am in need of writers for NL 90, specifically people to write articles,  reviews/previews and the like. If anyone is interested, mail me.

SA Astatine - XO

Fleet Commander's Note:

Thanks to SA Astatine shelling out the $50 for ASPEmail, www.emperorshammer.net seems to coming back to life...My thanks to our XO for all of his hard work to get the EH Database back up and running !

And an update received from the XO on 10.20.02...

Just an update again, the mail component has been installed and appears to be working. I need the following people to do the following things:

    TAC - test BSF functionality
FO - test cadet processing, roster updating, etc.
OPS - test medal submission and processing

The rest of you should be able to submit your reports. If you get any error messages, send them to me.

Vice Admiral Nav'ric Trow Appointed as New Prex of the Corporate Division:  10.18.02
As Submitted From:  Fleet Commander (GA Ronin)

Based, in part, on the glowing recommendation of outgoing former Prex AD Dark Angel, the Fleet Commander (GA Ronin) has appointed Trow as the new President (Prex) of the Corporate Division.

Corporate Division (CD)

Howdy,

My intention of this e-mail was not to tell you who to appoint, but rather give my opinion on the matter, as someone who is directly related to it. I'm sure the many, if not all of the qualities that I come up with, you would look for in any SGCOM officer, or any officer at all. But here are a few.

Experience - It's always a bonus to not have to have someone learn the systems before they can start actually working. Knowing how the CD runs is an invaluable tool. This experience coming from the CD itself. While experience in other area's of the EH are good, I don't feel that they are as valuable as experience within the CD.

Initiative - You need to be able to start projects, and find new areas for the CD to expand into.

Reliable - The success the CD has had in the past has come from the reliability of the members and leadership.

Organization - Without organization, you will quickly become overwhelmed with the amount of reports coming in. As is with any higher-up position.

Dedication - Someone who is in for the long haul is essential.

These skills are the most important ones that I can come up with at this point in time. Since I'm sure you'll have additional requirements you would like met, so I'll leave those to you.

My apologies for the lateness of my reply, but it's mid-term time at school, so I've been pretty busy.

Thank-you for considering my request.

Flight Office Report:  10.21.02
As Emailed From:  Flight Officer (FA Priyum)

Flight Office

** Please forward this down to your pilots **

Greetings all, and welcome to this week's report from the Flight Office:

News -

- You may have noticed that I've started to update the rosters again. This doesn't mean that the database is fully functional, just that certain things are working, and other things are being tested for their functionality. Until the Executive Officer says otherwise, no-one (apart from members of the COs and SGCOMs) are to log into the database. This doesn't mean you can't look at the news, roster pages.

Over the course of this week, I'll be working through the backlogged requests. As you can imagine, there's quite of lot of emails to go through, so this will take a bit of time. I ask that everyone show a bit of common sense and be patient. If you're awaiting an update, then please check your profile for that change on a regular basis, although on most occasions you'll receive notification by email, as normal. If by the end of the week a request is still outstanding, then please resend it to me at spellfire@btinternet.com. Do NOT bug me about it on IRC!

- During the database's downtime, there were a significant number of changes to the TIE Corps' Flag staff, which I'll summarize here for everyone's benefit.

The following people resigned their position:
Vice Admiral Toran Dan retired as FOA.
General Jahan Kalar stepped down as Wing Commander of Wing III.
Rear Admiral Corran Force retired as ISD Challenge Commodore.
Major Lohr Zadash retired as Wing Commander of Wing IX.
Admiral Cyric retired as ASF Battlegroup Commander.
Vice Admiral Azazel retired as ISD Grey Wolf Commodore.
Lieutenant Colonel Sarin resigned as Avenger Commander.
The following promotions/appointments were made:
Colonel Drake was appointed as the new Wing IX WC.
Vice Admiral Darksaber was appointed as the new ASF Battlegroup Commander.
Rear Admiral RogueWing was appointed as the new ISD Immortal Commodore.
Rear Admiral Sarin was appointed as the new ISD Grey Wolf Commodore.
Vice Admirals Pel and Proton were promoted to Admiral.
General Jahan Kalar was appointed as my new FOA.
Lieutenant Colonel Dax Corrin was promoted to Avenger Commander.
Also, over the course of the past month, Beta Squadron in Wing I was closed down, and Sigma Squadron in Wing II, was reactivated.

Congratulations to all those who received promotions. To those that retired from active service, the best of luck for the future.

- A reminder that the TIE Corp's message board is now permanently located at http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewforum.php?f=38. Go post. Except in that inane thread about ISD names or whatever. Meh. Boo says that thread sucks.

- Now that things are kinda back to normal, things should start picking up. Remember to check the TIE Corps News page ( http://www.emperorshammer.net/news.asp ) and the TC message board for regular updates. Any questions should be directed to your Superior.

Respectfully,

Fleet Admiral Priyum

Science Office Report #8:  10.20.02
As Emailed From:  Science Officer (AD Ender mBind)

Science Office

"The effects could well be called unprecedented, magnificent, beautiful, stupendous, and terrifying. No man-made phenomenon of such tremendous power had ever occurred before."

Science Office News:

1. As noted, this report is way too late and all that, as had the activity in the office gone down to a standstill over the last week. Im very sorry
about that and I'll try not to let it happen again V weird combination of a flu that just stuck around and a new job I couldn't take off even with the flu :-/

2. I've completed texturing and testing the Hyperion OPT for XWA - expect a patch to be released ASAP. This is a new fighter for the Dark Brotherhood based on the Sith Wars competition/story. A screenshot is attached V it was modeled by AD Den Darkhill and textured by me. Finishing up on the modeling of the craft for Clan Alvaak, after texturing that next up would be the new fighter for Avenger Squadron.

3. We've noticed several problems with the older patches that use the installer by Kermee, as they still overwrite each other partially. This
means they do not work together at the moment unless you patch them in manually (all patching guides are in the Guide Archives on the SCO site) or wait till we've updated them V and we're working on that.

4. Keep an eye on this spot V there will be a little competition in this report the moment the TIE Corps database is fully functioning again.

Science Office Status:

CA: Admiral Darkhill was, like me, down with the flu this week and as such didnt do much.

SCOA: Igor was the one that dropped the vial with the flu virus in the first place ;)

Site: The Science Office site can be found at http://sco.minos.net or via the redirect http://scienceoffice.isCool.net. No major updates this week on account of being in bed for most of the time.

Science Office Projects:

XvT/BoP/TIE95 Ship patches: This projects goal is to add all the original and Order of Battle craft that are still "missing" from these games, like
the SSD in TIE and XvT, the Medium Transport in all etc While pretty far already (about 77% done), working on XWA craft at the moment.

XWA Ship patches: Primarily the plan is to clear out the backlog of craft arranged by earlier SCOs and such, like the Trithan Interceptor (Kermee), the Hyperion (Den), the Alvaakian Craft (me) and the new fighter for Avenger Squadron (AES). The Trithan Interceptor and Hyperion are now ready, working on the Alvaakian Fighter V which should be done this week.

XWA Enemy Ship Packs: The plan is to create several multi-ship patches that install 5 different enemy craft of a particular theme at once on the same 5 slots for each pack. The first pack is that based on the "Genko System" (2 fighters, a transport a capital ship and a platform.). Modeling is 80% done, texturing 25%. Further texturing is on hold for the Ship patches projects to clear but can be finished shortly after that.

Emperor's Hammer Adventure Games: Khadgar has started on a beginner's guide to AGI/SCI which should greatly help along this project to make it possible to create EH games in the style of "Space Quest", "Kings Quest" or "Leisure Suit Larry".

Finishing up:

I think that's it V If I've forgotten anything or if you have comments, suggestions or corrections, let me know via email. Don't forget that all
the projects are described in more detail on the SCO site.

(use only mindb_ender@hotmail.com for official SCO mails.) or ICQ (9706474).  Preferably do not mail large files to me, but DCC them via IRC. I'm practically always online at #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps using the nick MindB_ndr (or variations.)

All my SCO reports are available online as well: you can reach them on the SCO site: http://www.minos.net/~sco/reports/index.html. The moment the TC database is back online they will be posted there as well.

Until next time, good luck and have fun!

Reconnaissance Office Report:  10.22.02
As Emailed From:  Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)

Recon Office

Greetings,

<salute>

First, I'd like to apologize for the lateness of my report. I was rather busy last weekend with my friends.

I'm pleased to say that Artist/EH Honorary Commander Joe Corroney will be coming for an interview with the EH Membership on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 1 PM EST. The nice thing about Mr. Corroney is that he lives in Columbus, Ohio, so there are no differences in Time Zones.

I have a few other contacts that I've been talking with but nothing solid. I'll let you know when there is another. :)

The new EH Movie Plot has been approved!!! :) Pre-Production continues! :)

Again, I will be working on restructuring the ISC. I feel that the current system has become a little outdated. I'll be working with the AG so that we may help each other out - because our jobs are very similar.

I'm going to begin to upload RO reports to the TC DB, but it will take some time to gather all the information.

I got a very good report from CA:RO/RA Joe which I have included:

Greetings!!!

Apologies for the lateness of this report, wont be like this next week :P

Not exactly as much to report as I planned on. AD Zsinj has been getting over some medical problems which has hindered any advancement on the Convention Database. He told me that he is getting better and will get right on it. It shouldn't take him too long when he really lets loose. So lets hope that is up rreeaalllyy soon.

I have also been searching around the net for email addresses or forums visited by Star Wars actors/actresses. I haven't found much of anything on that front, but I DO have someone who says he might be able to get through to James Earl Jones. Its a long shot, but one I think I will gladly take at a shot to talk to that man. Wouldn't you? :P

I'm also looking for Hayden Christiansen (sp?) as well. With Episode 2 coming to DVD and with its big reviews this past summer, He would be one of the top 5 people I would want on the Honorary Member's list. People who are just browsing through the EH domain could just see his face - or any other big players in Episode 2 for that matter - and might decide to join just on that fact alone. Its well worth a shot as well.

And as always.. don't worry Ast, Natilie Portman is still my prime target.. ;) I'll let you know.

I will email as soon as I hear anything from Zsinj or any luck with contacting... well *anybody*. This is a short report, hopefully not tooo short. Thanks for your time :)

Hi Keiran I know that was a long time that I don't talk with you but only today my friend send me the pictures from a event to SW fans , in this event we talk about AOC and our club , EH and Conselho Jedi So Paulo , this event was in 07/2002 , and we had more then 200 ppl in 3 days of event.

That event was to combine Star Trek , X-Files and Star Wars fans in a place where we can discuss , debate , change ideas about this three Series and to exchange and recruit new fresh members to our club.

The event had at least 100 fans per day seeing SW / ST films , X-File's episodes and discussions.

Was a great time there, we exchange links btw ST and SW websites and had open a new channel with Sci-Fi fans , I think SW members never had imagine that ST fans can be so motivated about SW sometimes . :P

High Court of Inquisitors

Well I'm back from my leave. I'll be checking my emails and addressing everything that needs addressing. If I forget anything, don't hesitate to
remind me.

I'll be revising/tweaking the AoWs very soon and submitting them for approval to GA and XO. No major changes in view, mostly clarifications of what's what...

Good to see the TC database back online, great job Astatine.

Thanks to Moreco and Danrik for keeping the HCI back on track. I should be naming a new P-INQ soon also. Btw don't hesitate to post new on the CI web site, it's the way to tell people we are alive and kicking... if you don't have access to posting news, email us.

Security Office Report:  10.18.2002
As Emailed From:  Security Officer (FA Brad)

Security Office

The biggest news this past week was the Marcus Stormwind has been sent to the High Court of Inquisitors. Disrespect and insubordination along with provoking speech does not mix. He even stated that he wouldn't get in trouble, and I would only give him a warning. This is a warning to everyone; you don't always get a second chance. Think before you type (I would say speak if this wasn't on the Internet).

A warning was issued to LC Zystem Fryar and to Arcanus "Atican". In the event that you DO get a warning, it is your last chance to make a mistake. Severe violations before I was made aware of, you will probably not be given a warning.

Also, please remember that ALL Subgroup members are to follow the Bylaws, Articles of War, and Codes of Conduct. If you are in the Bounty Hunter's Guild, you ARE a member of the Emperor's Hammer, and part of your superior officers are the Executive Officer, Fleet Commander, and other Command Staff if it is something related. Your SubGroup Commander does not have final say in things, and must cooperate with other Command Staff officers. I mentioned the BHG specifically, because of the problems in there, and a few people are likely to go to the High Court of Inquisitors this coming week. Ignorance of the regulations is not an excuse.

A mail just sent by FA Priyum Patel states that Command Attachs are welcome in any TIE Corps channel, but may NOT have ops or level 100 access in any of the channels (except for the CA:FO in #TIECorps--which there is none right now, I believe). All the TIE Corps members and frequenters for their channels, take note.

The new Security Office page is nearly complete, I did project that the new site would be up by now, but the amount of complaints and cases to be handled caused me to delay the work on the website. The old office page still has current information and I keep posting news, but on the new page some of the sections that were incomplete now are finished and the pages will be grouped in a logical fashion. Nobody sent me any extra graphics for the page, so you will have to bear with it at first release.

If it is possible, have your complaints handled by your superior officers (especially if both parties of the conflict are under command in the same
SubGroup, Ship, Wing, or smaller unit). When violations occur across SubGroups, then it must be settled by me, if you are unable to do so yourselves.

As of this morning, I have had computer problems and will be on leave until this is fixed. The exact cause of the problem hasn't been determined. Aside from some RL responsibilities, I will spend all the rest of my waking hours trying to fix my computer. I appreciate your patience and will handle the e-mails by the order I receive them on my return (which I will announce).  Thank you.
