SDIR Jorddyn Promoted to Fleet
Admiral: 07.15.02
As Recommended By:
Security officer (FA Stalker)
(Please see the Training
Manual for rank descriptions)
<SALUTE>
I would just like to take the time to put in this official request...
I would recommend that Admiral Kerridwen Jorddyn, Supreme
Director of the Ubiqtorate is considered by yourselves for a promotion to Fleet
Admiral (FA.) Since her rise to SDIR of the Intelligence Division on 29th
December 2001, she has taken the Intelligence Division to new heights with an
impressive reform plan and characteristically great leadership.
Her prowess as a leader, is equaled by that as an Operative, and she has been
responsible for many great achievements of the Intelligence Division during
Langer's time as SDIR, my own and now her own time leading the Intelligence
Division.
The time has now elapsed that as far as I am aware, she is allowed to be
promoted to FA (3 Months after her promotion to AD, and 7 months since her
getting SDIR).
Thank you for your time, I trust you will consider this carefully.

After a little bit of a wait, the Internet Office is proud to
release it's newest creation, the IO Code
Archive magnificently coded by AD Turtle. Here you can find all sorts of
little tidbits and code snippets that should definitely prove useful some time
or another as a web developer. If there are any requests or suggestions you have
for code to be posted that you think might be useful, e-mail FA Ari or another
member of the Internet Office Staff. For the web programmers of the EH, the IO

TAC Report #51: 07.1302
As Submitted From:
Tactical officer (HA Striker)
Tactical Office
Welcome to my 51st Tactical Report... I apologize for the
lateness of this one, I'm quite busy IRL with a move 400km away from my old
flat. Bye bye Paris...
1. Tactical Officer promoted to High Admiral
I haven't yet had the opportunity to thank publicly Grand Admiral Ronin and
Sector Admiral Astatine for their trust in my abilities and my promotion to High
Admiral. This is a great honor to reach such a rank, and I have been even more
pleased as I wasn't expecting it in a near future. Now I can burn my 20-month
old FA rank insignia ;)
2. Jedi Knight Compendium
I haven't received yet a single submission, though I'm pretty sure there must be
at least SOME levels which have been developed by EH members, for the EH. Medals
of Tactics will be awarded for any level which is approved. You can submit SP
levels and MP Maps for Dark Forces (DF), Jedi Knight (JK), Mysteries of the Sith
(MotS), Jedi Outcast (JK2). SP levels must be of course EH-oriented, involving
the DB or the HF for example...
My TACA Wes Janson is currently working on *original* submission procedures for
these levels, but if you have already some, just send them to me, you can follow
the kind of procedures available on
http://www.massassi.net as ours will be similar. Use "Custom (DF/JK/MotS/JK2)
(Level/Map) Submission" for title in your email, levels to be sent to me at
striker@tiecorps.org.
On a side note, I have spent some times to complete JK at last, and eventually
get JK2... Maybe I'll find time some day to finish XWA !!!!
3. Note to CMDR and people filling BSFs
A reminder: skipping a mission is NOT allowed. Bug or not. Any BSF submitted
with a mission skipped will be denied or later cancelled if the database
auto-accepts it. Another thing, do not check the "No high score" button if
nothing is wrong with the file, the database will check itself if there is a
high score or not. check this only if something irregular has been done making
the file improper for high scores.
4. Battle Compendium
Still growing, we are above the 2,400 missions mark...there is a nice stat
available at
http://www.emperorshammer.net/tac/compendium.gif I compiled while going
through all the NLs. For my ego more than a third of the compendium has been
released under my tenure which is more than any other former TAC... all due to
the "new" structure of the Tactical Staff for nearly a year now and the hard
work of its members !
5. FCHG Contest #3: Enemies of the Hammer
Deadline is August 10th. Your battle must involve an identified threat to the EH
(a character, a fleet, a new menace etc) and involve the eH as a whole. As usual
the best submissions in each category (TIE/XvT/XWA) will be rewarded with an
IS-PR and will become FCHG Battles.... use the standard submission procedures,
with as email title: "FCHG Competiton Submission".
6. Hammer's Pride Competition: results
Congratulations to Drake, Ender mBind and RogueWing for their first place in
their respective category. I'll have the submission go through the standard
review process as I haven't had time to make the correction myself.
7. Golden Tug Awards
The full results have been released on the several message boards. As nobody was
interested in designing the awards, I did it myself....
<ul><li>Golden Tug: <img src=http://www.emperorshammer.net/tac/GT.jpg></li><li>General
Award: <img src=http://www.emperorshammer.net/tac/GTAR.jpg></li><li>Golden
Spoon: <img src=http://www.emperorshammer.net/tac/GS.jpg></li><li>Pinky
Lollipop: still need a google search :P</li></ul>
The images and awards will be soon added to the battle profiles.
8. Summer Leave
My CA is currently on leave for the EH Poland Meeting II, and should be back
soon. I will be on leave from July 18th to August 8th, for a trip between
Boston, NYC and Washington. I haven't planned to get any Internet access, so my
CA will be in full charge of the office, and will be even able to process the
BSFs, something I have always kept for myself...
That's it for today... need to try JK2 !

Chancellor Report #5:
07.14.02
As Emailed From:
Chancellor of the Senate (Osan'gar)
Imperial Senate
The Senate website is online at
http://senate.borkweb.com or
http://senate.minos.net, both addresses
redirect to the same site. The automated roster is working, and I am adding new
features to it all the time. At current, it is still slightly sparse with
features, but the basics do work, and show all member details. With the new
roster, M:REC Priyum Patel will be carrying out all roster duties, and awards,
so send all your requests to Priyum (
spellfire@btinternet.com ).
The debate on the message board seems to be dying down, as nearly all of the
possible aspects have been fully explored. I have started up a new debate, see
the activities section for details of the new debate.
Senator Prime elections will be coming soon. Elections will start in mid August,
and after one week of voting, a new Senator Prime will be chosen for a four
month term. If you want to run for Senator Prime, get those applications ready
as I will start officially taking applications soon.
Planetary Representation is about to take place, as I have finalised my plan for
the number of Senators representing each planet in the System Manual. The number
of Senator's per planet will be based on the population of that planet listed in
the System Manual.
0-5,000 - 2 Senators
5,000-500,000 - 3 Senators
500,000-1,000,000 - 4 Senators
1,000,000-5,000,000 - 5 Senators
5,000,000-20,000,000 - 6 Senators
20,000,000-100,000,000 - 7 Senators
100,000,000-1,000,000,000 - 8 Senators
1,000,000,000+ - 9 Senators
All applicants and candidates will serve on Aurora Academy Training, and those
in the reserves will represent no planet. The total number of spaces for active
Senators is over 100, and will be increased if the Senate grows sufficiently. I
have already assigned some people to planets, and will be sending out a full
list in the next few days over the mailing list.
Conservative Party Leader Marcus Stormwind has resigned due to Real Life
reasons, and thus we are without a Conservative Party Leader. If you think that
you could do a good job as Con PL, mail myself (
dclutterbuck2@yahoo.co.uk ) with
your application. Willingness to commit to the position for the next four months
at least, and a plan for revitalising the party are essentials for candidates.
Grand Admiral Ronin wants to implement Records of Decision into the Senate where
the Senate would reach decisions about EH policies and then submit them to the
Emperor's Hammer Command Staff. Sentator Tacitus has started a debate topic
about this on the Senate Message Board (
http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=780 ) so go and add your opinions on
this to the topic. Lets try to get a plan for these Records put together as soon
as possible.
Senate Activities and Competitions
Current Senate Competitions and activities are listed below.
Firstly, each weekly Senate report will contain weekly trivia questions. There
will be a varying number of questions each week, relating to Star Wars, the
Senate, the EH and anything else that I deem relevant :P The winner each week
will receive a Certificate of Knowledge. Number of questions correct is the
primary way in which the winner is determined, and then the speed with which
Senator's get their answers to me is the second criteria for finding the winner.
E-mail myself (
dclutterbuck2@yahoo.co.uk ) with your answers, making sure that you don't
include the Senate mailing list on your mail.
Trivia Set #1 Answers
1. Who was the first Chancellor of the EH Imperial Senate? - CHS Nighthawk
2. Who was the manufacturer of the ship Slave I? - Kuat Systems Engineering
3. What colour robes did the Senate Guard in the Old Republic wear? - Blue
4. What function did the 2-1B series of droids carry out? - Medical Droid
5. Which Jedi Master wrote a famous commentary on the Jedi Code nearly 4,000
years before Episode I? - Odan-Urr
6. How many Executive Officers of the Emperor's Hammer have there been since
it's creation? - 7; Shawshank, Renegade, Adams, Havok, Compton, Kawolski,
Astatine
Winner - Daulty Dofine: 5 correct and the first to get the answers to me.
Congrats Daulty, the Certificate of Knowledge for this week is yours.
Below is this weeks trivia set.
Trivia Set #2
1. How many ground troops does an ISD usually carry?
2. Who reigned as the Monarch of Naboo before Queen Amidala took the throne?
3. Name the last five Flight Officers of the Emperor's Hammer.
4. What is the arm of the Galaxy beyond the Corporate Sector called?
5. Which two people worked with Mon Mothma to create an organised resistance to
the Emperor?
Debate Topic #1
This weeks debate topic is as follows. A Rebel who has committed many crimes
against the Empire has come before the Emperor's Hammer begging for forgiveness.
Your first instincts are to order an execution, yet he was a great general for
the Rebellion, what should the Emperor's Hammer do with the Rebel?
Communications
Another reminder to keep posting on the Imperial Senate message board, and using
the Senate IRC channel at #imperial_senate. More and more people are on IRC now,
especially in GMT evenings, which is a positive sign. As for the Message Board,
bear in mind that it isn't just for official announcements. Lets try to get a
few more discussion topics going.
Thank you very much for your time

AbsoluteK Appointed
as New
Logistics Officer: 07.13.02
As Submitted From:
Fleet Commander (GA Ronin)
<SALUTE>
Application for the position of Logistics Officer:
I have been a member of the Emperors Hammer for nearly 3 years now. In that time
I have accomplished a great deal, and gained a lot of
experience in various areas that I believe will make me an excellent choice for
LO. As demonstrated in my tenure in the IO, I have shown the
ability to make quality websites, create online databases, and organize data in
a meaningful way. Some of the examples of my work include the original IO
websites at ehnet.org, WEHR (EH Radio), the EH Image Archive at
http://ehnet.org/ia/ (formerly known as the
EH Visual Arts
Gallery, and the EH Picture Archive). My other EH accomplishments include
hosting of website & email accounts, co-development of the old
EH Webring and EH Message Boards, support and promotion of dynamic website
create via PHP & SQL, as well as the purchasing of several EH domains.
As Logistics Officer, I have several ideas which I would like to
implement. Currently, the EH historical data is poorly organized, impossible to
find at times, scattered across several different servers/websites, and
generally poorly documented. I would like to create a catagorized FilePlanet(tm)
type website for EH historical documents currently managed by the LO, and any
future information it may acquire. This site would be database driven, and would
hold stuff such as the EH Newsletter Archive, subgroup NL archives, graphic
images, and any other files or documents of historical significance in the EH.
This project would streamline access to important EH files on a single website
in an organized manner. I would like to note that I already have webspace for
this project, a domain name, and some basic PHP & SQL database files already
developed.
The EH Timeline is another important aspect of the Logistics Office which I hope
to continue. Though to be realistic, this is more than just a simple project. It
encompases fitting the "EH" into a rather extensive universe through fiction,
missions and art. I foresee this as more of an ongoing project, where people can
contribute as they wish by writing fiction and/or designing missions by
guidelines which I will design. I also plan on designing competition(s), to
encourage contributions of the development of the EH timeline.
The EH Polling Centre which is supposed to be the resonsibility of the LO, has
not been actively maintained for some time now, and this is
something I would very much like to change. I believe that the polling centre
can and will be an important tool for gaugeing opinion in the
club, and as such I plan on releasing polls on a regular basis. I also plan on
doing a "proper" EH census on an annual basis. I have
experience developing information query documents in RL which will extensively
help in this idea. Unlike the previous EH census, which I
personaly believe was a half-hearted attempt, I plan on doing this idea properly
with consultations with the membership on what kind of
questions should be asked.
The EH Codex is another LO run website that I plan on re-opening, and keeping
updated. The Codex is meant to store important data pertaining to when and how
long important command officers served, the recipients of high order medals such
as the MoH, and promotions to ranks AD and above. Currently this site is static
HTML (meaning it has to be hand updated through an editor), I plan on making it
dynamic via PHP & SQL so that I (or others I may designate) can easily update it
through a website form.
I firmly believe that I can make the Logistics Office a valid, and important
part of the EH, and gain it the respect that it deserves. The
ideas I have presented here will hopefully give you a rough outline of what I
plan on doing if I get LO. There are several things that I will
not do as LO that I would like to mention also. There will not be an army of LO
staff members to do my work for me. None of what I say here
is an idle promise that I don't plan on following through on before making even
greater promises. Perhaps most importantly, there will not
be promises of a stable LO website for many months. I plan on having an LO
website up within several days of my possible appointment.
I believe that I am a mature person, and more stable emotionally. I recognize
that I have made choices in the past which may sour your
opinion of me, but I would like the chance to take LO to great places because I
*KNOW* I can. I will not disappoint.

Recon Officer Reports/Interviews
As Interviewed By:
Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)
Aaron Allston Email Interview: 06.28.02
Greetings sir,
<salute>
Here is the Aaron Allston interview.
I'm at my friend's house right now, so I will try to get the .txt file to you by
tomorrow when I return to my house.
Enjoy the interview! :)
-Keiran
1.) Why did you want to become an author, and why?
In part, it runs in the family. My maternal grandparents were journalists, as is
my father. In my case, when I was in elementary school, I had an odd dream and
tried to commit it to paper; the process of interpreting and conveying something
as difficult as a dream was very interesting to me, and I developed a continuing
interest in writing.
2.) Who are your inspirations?
I really haven't looked to personal inspirations or heroes since I was a child,
and at that time, most of them were fictitious characters.
3.) What is your favorite book, and why?
I can't say that I have one -- there's no specific book I turn to again and
again. In part that's because my tastes in reading have changed, slowly but
steadily, since I was a child, so there's never been one writer or one title
that could stand out as my favorite for very long.
4.) What is your favorite movie, and why?
Probably Frank Capra's IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. A lot of people think of it only
as a Christmas movie, but it's not -- it's an eloquent and extremely
well-crafted fable about the importance a single person can have on the world
around him.
5.) Where did you first see Star Wars?
If I remember correctly, it was at a theater in my home town of Denton, TX, a
few weeks after its debut in 1977.
6.) What made you decide to write a Star Wars book?
It really hadn't occurred to me that I might write a Star Wars book until Bantam
decided to ask me to continue the X-Wing series.
7.) What is your favorite thing about Star Wars, and why?
I would say that it's the immersiveness of the universe.
8.) What are some of your hobbies, and why do you like them?
I'm a long-time role-playing gamer -- RPGs are another fun opportunity for
storytelling. I'm also a movie buff, with several hundred VHS tapes and DVDs in
my collection.
9.) What is your favorite thing about being an author?
Just being able to create characters and stories that I enjoy and that other
people enjoy -- that's the best thing about it.
10.) Do you have any current projects that you are working on that you are
allowed to talk about?
I've recently finished a role-playing game supplement: CHAMPIONS, a superhero
supplement for the Hero System RPG. Now I'm working on MONGOOSE AMONG COBRAS, a
military/action SF novel sort of like the X-Wing novels in tone.
11.) What kind of music do you like?
I really don't categorize music by type, but by artist, and I like a wide
variety of artists. My CD collection includes (among many others) Beatles,
B-52s, Aqua, George Gershwin, Varttina, Blues Traveler, Los Lobos, Doug and the
Slugs, Benny Goodman, Jonny Lang, Manhattan Transfer, Alanis Morrissette, Paul
Simon, Lucinda Williams, Leo Kottke, and the Spice Girls.
12.) Who is your favorite band, and why?
I don't have a favorite.
13.) Who is your favorite character in Star Wars (movies and books), and
why?
It would have to be Wes Janson -- he's so much fun to write.
14.) What do you think about the Emperor's Hammer?
I'm not familiar enough with the group's full range of activities to offer a
full review, but Emperor's Hammer has always seemed to me to be a
courteous and well-informed group of fans.
15.) What made you want to write, a New Jedi Order book -
Enemy Lines: Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand?
I was pleased with the four X-Wings I'd done, but I was also anxious to write
novels in the mainstream of the Star Wars universe. Previously, I
hadn't been able to feature Leia in more than a cameo role, Han Solo was only a
secondary character in SOLO COMMAND, and I hadn't been able to use Luke and Mara
at all, so it was the challenge of using the universe's primary characters that
appealed to me.
16.) What was your favorite part about making one of the most pivotal
books in the New Jedi Order series - referring to the formation of the Inner
Circle?
My favorite part was in trying to show the older generation and newer generation
of characters working together in new ways dictated by the New Republic's
changing circumstances.
17.) Who did you feeling writing a book that will becoming a turning point
in the war with the Vong?
Mostly, I felt a considerable weight of responsibility -- it was my goal to try
to change the very way the setting felt to the series' fans, and I hope
I've succeeded.

Operations Officer, Vice Admiral Khadgar to Grand Order of the Emperor Award.
I know him for a very long time. I served under him when he was Commodore of
ISD Grey Wolf and he always was example of excellent command officer. Since he
took COO position he started to improve this office. I know how many things
have changed because I server as competitions' host under 4 or 5 different
COOs. Khadgar improved current system, increased number of EH internal
competition, and successfully organized few competition against other club.
He also replaced inactive hosts and made our competitions active. But that's
not end. VA Khadgar greatly improved EH presence in WoW competitions. People
started to fly against other clubs, advertising EH, and recruiting new
members. Back then we had 3-5 people fly WoW, now we have around 20.
VA Khadgar always performed his duties very well, serving above and beyond
call of duty. That's why I think he fully deserves this honor. And I am sure
he will continue his performance on the field of EH multi player aspects.
Thank you for your consideration sirs.

New Site for EH MUD:
07.02.02
As Emailed From:
Chief Gamemaster Gryffon
Hello there,
This is your friendly neighborhood CGM calling. I've just been doing some late
night work, and would like to bring to your attention the new EH Mud site.
http://www.kweeky.net/foxdev/mud/
The two gentlemen who run the MUD for us, have done an excellent job for us.
They have devoted a large amount of time and personal resources to this
effort. However one pitfall of the MUD business is drawing a good userbase to
the MUD. In an effort to help, I would like to request a news item placed on "eh.org".
Hopefully this will help out.
Details: The EH Mud "Star Wars - Time of Darkness" has recently revamped their
site, allowing better off-MUD access to MUD resources. This includes such
things as Clan News and a Ship Database. If you haven't checked out the EH Mud
recently, now is a great time to do so. It will fit the play styles of all MUD
users from casual to hardcore. It has a great Role-playing environment as well
as custom zones built by the resident builders. The Mud is also currently in
the process of inviting the Rebel Squadrons to participate on the Mud, so this
will be a great outlet for all EH'ers to show them who is the best. If you
have never used a MUD before, but have a desire to check out what it is all
about, now is the time. Download your favorite MUD client:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF8&q=MUD+Client
and check it out. The MUD is located at swtod.wolfpaw.net port
6100. The site is located at
http://www.kweeky.net/foxdev/mud/ Check it out and enjoy.

Comes out Retirement to be Appointed Imperial Sovereign Protector (ISP):

Commander (GA Ronin)
<SALUTE>
With the departure of Fleet Admiral Brad from the post of Imperial Sovereign
Protector to take up his new duties as CA:SO I find myself in need of taking a
larger role in the EH.
I think ISP would be the perfect place to do that.
As the ISP my primary job would be the protection of the Fleet Commander from
all Harm. By working with both the SO and the ID I feel I could do this job more
than adequately.
During my time as Security Officer I built many friendships within the Command
Staff as well as within the fleet as a whole. That plus my ability to work with
most anyone should allow me to fit in to the position nicely and keep both the
FC and XO informed on anything that may be a threat to them.
As a Bonus, I have a proven record of being able to work with both FA Brad and
FA Stalker during their times as SDIR so I see no difficulties in working with
the current SDIR AD Jorddyn or with the current Security Office Staff.
I hope I have proven to you that I am loyal to the Emperors Hammer and that my
interests only lie in making this club a better place for all its members.

EH Email Interview With Elaine
Cunningham (Author of NJO: Dark Journey): 06.17.02
As Emailed From:
Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)
In a message dated 6/17/02 9:33:49 AM Eastern Daylight Time,
elainecunningham@cox.net writes:
Hmm. Sorry about that -- I was certain that I'd completed all the requested
interviews. In view of the repeated delay, I'll attack it now. I've answered
most of the questions. If you think of any follow-ups, let me know and I'll
address them today.
Best,
Elaine Cunningham
1.) Why did you want to become an author, and why?
I've always loved books. My first ambition, however, was not to write books, but
to illustrate them. Then music came to dominate my teenage years and early
twenties, edging out art as a creative focus, so I never did pursue that avenue.
Reading was always a passion, however, and when I came back to the idea of
writing, it felt like a good fit.
2.) Who are your inspirations?
Poetry is a strong influence. I love the music inherent in language, the fact
that words can portray mood as well as meaning. A single concise, vivid verbal
image can make my day. Folklore and mythology was another influence. As a kid, I
was hooked on Greek and Roman mythology, Slavic folklore, Celtic legends, fairy
tales, ghost stories - you name it. My interest in music and history continues
to influence my stories.
3.) What is your favorite book, and why?
I can't point to a single favorite book, but novels that made an impression
included Hilton's LOST HORIZONS and classic adventure stories such as IVANHOE
and THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL. One of my favorite books was Mark Twain's A
CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING AUTHOR'S COURT. It's got a bit of everything -
wonderful dialogue, great characterizations, slapstick humor, irony, tragedy,
and social commentary. As a child, I was a big L.L. Montgomery fan - loved the
imagination and optimistic outlook of the red-haired heroine. Oscar Wilde's
plays cultivated a fondness for irony and snappy come-backs, as well as an
appreciation of life's absurdities. And Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series
got me hooked on the notion of fantasy world-building. These days I read a lot
of history, historical fiction, and mysteries.
4.) What is your favorite movie, and why?
Again, there's no single favorite. I loved "An Ideal Husband," an
adaptation of an
Oscar Wilde play, and I thought Cait Blanchard was wonderful in "Elizabeth." I
was absolutely blown away by Igmar Bergman's "Persona," mostly because the
acting was astonishing. There's one point in the move in which you can SEE the
personality of one woman force its way into another woman's head and simply take
over -- no special effects involved, just phenomenal acting.
5.) Where did you first see Star Wars?
I was a teenager at the time, and Star Wars ANH was the first movie I saw in a
theatre. When I mentioned that to a recent acquaintance, she blurted out, "What
were you - Amish?" Well, not quite, but I did grow up in a tradition that
frowned upon movie-going. Imagine the impact of seeing that opening sequence -
not only as a first Star Wars movie, but a first cinematic experience, period.
That moment of wonder and discovery has colored my view of Star Wars ever since.
6.) What made you decide to write a Star Wars book?
R.A. Salvatore wrote the first book in the New Jedi Order series, and the Del
Rey editors asked him to recommend a couple of new writers. He suggested my
name. Until then, it had never occurred to me to write a Star Wars book, but I
was very excited about the idea and immediately threw my hat into the ring.
7.) What is your favorite thing about Star Wars, and why?
It's an old-fashioned adventure story, with a great balance of action, humor,
and romance. What's not to love?
9.) What is your favorite thing about being an author?
The immersion in books and storytelling, and the fact that you're always
learning something new. Every new project brings new and interesting topics to
research.
10.) Do you have any current projects that you are working on that you are
allowed to talk about?
I'm finishing up WINDWALKER, the third book in the Starlight & Shadows trilogy.
This continues the story of the drow "princess" Liriel Baenre, which was begun
several years ago in the books DAUGHTER OF THE DROW and TANGLED WEBS. The entire
trilogy will be released with wonderful new cover art by Todd Lockwood, and the
release dates are February, March and April of 2003.
11.) What kind of music do you like?
My undergraduate degree was in music education, and I have a strong preference
for the classical music in which I was trained. I also like early music --
medieval and Renaissance -- and some types of traditional folk music. Recently
I've gotten more and more interested in Celtic music.
12.) Who is your favorite band, and why?
Do you consider the New York Philharmonic to be a "band?" If not, I'd have to
say the Chieftains, one of the best Celtic groups currently playing. I'm also
very fond of Loreena McKennitt's music.
13.) Who is your favorite character in Star Wars (movies and books), and why?
While I deeply admire steadfast, unwavering heroes such as Leia and Tenel Ka,
I'd have to say Han Solo. It's hard to resist a charming rogue!

TAC Report
#50: 06.23.02
As Emailed From:
CA:TAC/VA Marcin Szydlowski
Tactical Office
Introduction:
Welcome to this celebrational, 50th Tactical Office Report. TAC
is on leave however his office still works, but we have got some ocasions to
celebrate. :)
1. New battles:
Thanks to hard work of Tactical Staff, we have released many new battles and
missions last week. We have now 200 TIE-TC battles, over 100 XvT-Free missions
and many others. XWA Frees will hit 100 soon. Special thanks to all mission
creators, beta testers, engineers and coordinators. Keep it up.
2. TAC coming back from leave on Monday :D
Yeah! Our very own, TAC/FA Striker is coming back from leave on Monday, Tuesday
maybe. Don't waste his time with silly questions. All BSFs will be processed
very soon, just wait.
3. New IWATS pending
I hope XTM/2 will be added to database soon. Course covers advanced mission
creation tricks, Tactical procedures and other fancy stuff. Worth waiting.
4. Rate the battles you fly
You can rate up to 5 any battle or mission of the compendium... I guess everyone
prefer to have some comments about a battle before fliyng it or not, so help
others to avoid average battles and choose the best ones to fly in rating the
battles you fly !
5. New TCCs
Last week I have appointed new TCC:XvT and TCC:TIE. Congratulations to CrazyR2
and Shadd. You can already see them working. New battles, yay!
6. Bugs
Because of my exams I didn't correct all bugs already. But I am going to do it
soon. If you find bug, don't hesitate to post bug report.
7. Reviews:
I have noticed that some people are posting reviews to lower battle rating only
because they don't like the creator. DON'T!!! This may result in ban from
posting. I don't want to see this. Remember. If battle is bug free, no matter
how stupid it is than you cannot rate is less than 2.
8. Tactical Database:
Visit Tac DB news often. I post all announcements there. If I look for testers I
post info there. So if you want to join office, read news often. And be familiar
with database.
And that would be all for this week. Have fun

Flight Officer (FA Priyum)
Flight Office
Greetings all, and welcome to the FO report for the past week.
I'm a little pressed for time today, so it's going to be a brief report:
News -
- Imperial Storm III continues. As always, please check
http://www.emperorshammer.net/wo/is3/ for all current updates.
- Commander Tour of Duty: As stated in the Fleet Standing Orders and the SM/3
Course notes, the CMDR ToD rule is:
All Squadron Commanders are expected to serve in their position for a minimum of
FOUR months. This is the commitment you must make towards the job. Anyone who
quits before this time without extenuating circumstances will be reduced to the
rank they held prior to their appointment.
This is to emphasise the point that being a CMDR requires a great deal of time
and commitment. It is not something to be entered into lightly and without
forethought.
This rule become official and enforced for all CMDR appoints from THIS MONDAY!
In addition, from this Monday, all persons applying for a CMDR position must
have taken and passed SM/3. The only exception is if the applicant has
previously held a CMDR position and taken & passed SM/1 or 2.
- Squadron Management Course Ver. 3 (
http://www.btinternet.com/~spellfire/sm.html ):
Had a good number of people taking this so far, a graduate list is below. A
shocking number of people however are getting basic things wrong, like rank caps
and medal awards. In addition to reading the SM notes, you're also expected to
have read the Training Manual. Remember, although you may have no intention of
ever being a CMDR, taking the course is a good way to familiarise yourself with
several important aspects of the TIE Corps.
I'll be updating my FO page with the current Staff List tonight.
Remember that you can also find the current staff on the eh.net rosters. Also
please remember that transcripts of the tests are NOT kept. So if you want to
know where you went wrong, then please email me BEFORE you take the test.

IW COMBAT CENTER ONLINE
Officers and pilots of the IW,
It gives me great pleasure to announce that my new office is finally finished
and located at http://iwcom.minos.net.
The end result produced a great new addition to the IW - IW Combat center. As of
now on, all the IW competitions are to be and will be announced there and will
be listed in categories (single player, multi player, fiction ... ). It is easy
to browse and will keep everything in one place to be viewed.
Everyone can request a competition, and it will be either approved or denied. To
learn how to post competitions, just browse the "FAQ" menu on the right side
menu.
I will give you a week or so to get used to the new system, but consider this
the only official way to get a competition approved and official. Read all about
it at http://iwcom.minos.net
Any problems, contact me ( nikola.leder@medri.hr
).
On a side note, it is no longer required to email the whole IW with competition
announcement, but IT IS A SMART THING TO DO if you want people to participate...
