Recommendation Three:
Vice Admiral Mell Kerrigan (TO-DEAN/VA Mell Kerrigan/CS-6/SSSD Sovereign)
Email: mell@tiecorps.org Pin: 512
Date Joined: 7/26/1998 (3 years, 11 months)
I find it very hard to believe that Mell has never been recommended for a high
award. In three years in this club, Mell has been my closest friend, confidant
and advisor on all things, EH related or otherwise. In fact, I hold his opinions
in such high respect that when I moved half-way across the country to live with
my Girlfriend to an area where I knew no-one other than her, I wasn't concerned
by the lack of friends to talk to about problems as I could always talk to Mell.
I hold him with that much respect.
But I should really start from the beginning as our stories intermingle
somewhat..
When I first joined the Colossus, it was in a period of turmoil. Activity was
low, morale was low and we were on the verge of being closed. I didn't know all
this before I arrived. Mell had done such good work on the Challenge that
Theodore had asked him personally to transfer to the Colossus and work his magic
on Mu Squadron. Theodore was the new Wing Commander and Ari had become the new
Commodore. I first met Mell soon after I joined Pi Squadron when I met him on
IRC. I found him warm and approachable, his opinions were forthright. He wasn't
concerned that I was just another Lieutenant with high claims of greatness, He
respected me as a person.
Then Theodore left the Colossus to accept the Battlegroup Commanders position
and Mell was promoted to Wing Commander. I was still in Pi at this time under
the command of SA Compton. Between Compton and Mell, they were the ones that
influenced my early career. The Colossus's activity rose and our morale went
through the roof. We believed we could do anything that we set our minds to,
indeed Pi Squadron defeated the Elite Praetorian's while Compton and I were in
the squadron. Mell's work on the Colossus saved us from being closed and opened
my mind to different forms of leadership. He had become convinced that I would
make a great Commander.
When Compton left the Colossus, His replacement was Zystem Fryar who also gave
me a free reign to do what I wanted to do. This basically involved smacking off
as many highs as possible. Between myself and Chei-Ras (Ships DOC), we had
introduced new and exciting competitions to the Colossus that had increased
Morale and activity. It may have been my idea, but Mell was the one that
rewarded our efforts and persuaded us to convert them to wing competitions.
Mell left his position and headed to the reserves after about 7 months in charge
of the wing. During this time, I had become good friends with him. He advised me
to try for the Wing Commander's position which I duly did. I didn't get it but
that opened the door for me to take my first command, Nu Squadron. During his
time in the reserves, I still maintained contact with him. He continued to
advise me on leadership, morale and motivation. I became more confident in my
own abilities and Nu began performing extremely well under my command.
Eventually, I was offered the Commanders position over at Praetorian after I
aced an interview using techniques I learned from Mell.
The Commanders position didn't work out as I lost my Net Connection a few days
after taking command. Mell at this time was mulling over a move back to the
Immortal which he duly did. Soon after joining the Immortal, he was offered the
Wing Commanders position over their which he duly accepted. As far as I can tell
(I had no net access), This period was again successful. However, he was having
difficulties and felt that a Wing Commander that didn't have XWA shouldn't
really be in command of an XWA Ship. He moved back to accept a FM's position on
the Challenge.
It was at about this time I rejoined the Colossus aboard Eta Squadron and began
a further assault on the Battleboard. My darkest hour approached and it was Mell
who was the one that offered words of support and encouragement. After I was
convicted and immediately headed for the reserves, It was Mell who was the one
who told me to never give up hope, never give in and never walk away from
unfinished business.
He was right.
Six months after my trial and my self-imposed exile in the reserves, I received
word that the Colossus was again in trouble. I was forcibly removed from the
reserves and placed in Omicron by the Flight Officer, Theodore. Ari had resigned
from Commodore, his replacement Chei-Ras had resigned and Troutrooper was left
to run a ship and a wing who's morale had reached critical levels. Jarak had
informed us that it was his intention to shut the ship down. Mell immediately
transferred over from the Challenge. Jarak rejected Mell's application for the
open Commodore position but agreed to meet all the ships staff on an IRC
discussion.
What happened next became Colossus Folklore. During the time of the Sunday
meeting, Mell had got as many people as he could crammed into the Colossus room.
Indeed, at the time there were more people in there than in #Tiecorps and #Emperor's_Hammer
Combined. Jarak started off by stating his reasons why he was doing this as we
all stayed quiet. He then said the fateful words of "Any Questions" which lead
to a barrage of questions from me (I had nothing to lose) which questioned his
motives behind this. Unable to give an adequate reply to difficult questions, he
left IRC only to return a few moments later and announce that the Colossus was
to remain open. I was promoted to Wing Commander but it was Mell that was the
one that arranged everything.
A few months after I was promoted, Troutrooper resigned the Commodore's position
and I made it very plain that I wanted Mell as Commodore. Between me and him, We
created a fantastic atmosphere within the wing that hasn't dimmed to this day.
We talked all the time about ship operations, Problem pilots, planned
competitions and alike. We know each other so well that we could guess at each
others reactions to events. Mell was extremely involved in the resurgence of the
Colossus. The second time he had saved it from closure.
When I was forced to leave again, Absolut Vodka was promoted in my place. Mell
remained on as Commodore. He continued the good work laid down by both me and
him. I returned to Iota just before Mell took the imitative and became A-BGCOM
following Adrenaline's surprise disappearance. Me, Absolut Vodka and Mell all
knew it was only a matter of time before he was offered BGCOM. We made
preparations to allow me a swift transfer of command to allow me to return to
the Wing Commanders position.
Mell went about business as BGCOM with his usual grit and determination but deep
down I knew it wasn't the position he thought it would be. The position of
Training officer became open and he applied unsuccessfully. This nearly killed
him. He was so determined to become a member of the Command Staff and he felt
that he had lost his best chance. Being his closest friend, I was the one that
became his shoulder to cry on, I was the one that listened to his frustrations
and offered him advice and support. While he did manage to win 'Mr EH' while he
was BGCOM, thus proving his popularity amongst his peers, It came as no surprise
to me when he announced he was stepping down, He had burnt himself out following
three years of hard work for the club. His parting gift to me was a Silver Star
and a high recommendation for me to get BGCOM.
He retired to a FM's position in Tornado with the intention of slowly
disconnecting himself from the club. I know from experience this is something
you cannot do. This club gets under your skin, it's addictive. You don't realize
how vitally important it is to your life. Sooner than I expected, he realized
this too. He realized he had jumped out of BGCOM too quickly and I knew it too.
I gave him the Commodore's position on the Challenge which was the most I could
do for him at the time. A couple of months later, The Training Officer position
opened up again and I told him to jump at the chance. He was duly promoted and
got the position that brings you bang up to date.
Of all the people in this club, Mell is the one who is the most important to me.
He is my 'brother' and I look out for him the same way he looks out for me. If
he left this club, It would create a void that no-one could fill. I would
probably continue on with my role but it wouldn't be with the same vigor as it
is with Mell around supporting and encouraging me. Eventually, I would leave too
as I can't imagine my role in the Tiecorps without Mell.
I apologize for this rather long recommendation. It is a subject I feel rather
passionately about as you can probably tell. I would also appreciate it if Mell
has no idea about this recommendation or the reasons for this recommendation. It
will be a welcome surprise for him, and some of the things I have said in here
are personal between me and him. I thank you for your time.
Respectfully Submitted,

Office Report #75: 02.07.03
As Submitted From:
Tactical Officer (AD Mike)
Tactical Office
Mission Creation War!
Yes! Heaven for all mission designers! Biggest competition ever
from Tactical Office. Great medals to win! Need to say more? Check out details.
Before we start this war (March 1st), you need to sign up. It's very simple.
Email me and my CA. Title your email "Mission Creation War" and tell us if you
want to join free missions, battles or both. What's more. We have Tactical
Office competition #3. Your mission is to create a set of trophies. I will use
them in future.
Some news for mission designers
Our very own SCO has releases M/SC (Modified Strike Cruised, in
other words rebel interdictor) for XWA. This gives you good chance to improve
your missions. What's more. SCO is working on shipyards for SSDs (Triad
platforms), for all games. This will be another great extension to our missions.
Good work Ender and give us some Borg... erm... i mean Vong OPTs, lol
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TAC3K countdown!
Yes! It's new section of my report! This week we have reached 2700 mission
online! We need only 296 to reach TAC3K! Good work Tactical Staff, keep it up!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Multi Player Competitions
Following COO's request I am announcing that soon COO will
introduce new competitions. One #ehcoc based and one Zone based. All details can
be found in COO's report.
What's more. There are new competitions on Zone. If you are
active zone player, check TC.News and take a part. Remember, Zone is great place
to recruit new people to EH, and represent EH ammong other clubs. Good luck and
big thanks to all pilots who fly for EH on zone.
New COs!
Congrats to our new COs: TO Keldorn, OPS Khaine and LO Tron. Big
congrats and good luck with your new appointments. I've already had a pleasure
to cooperate with new TO and OPS, and I say they are very good officers and I am
pretty sure they will do their best to make EH progress. Congrats once again.
TACA sought
Yes. I am looking for assistant. It seems some people think I
have a bunch of assistants. To clarify it. I have only one assistant, and it's
honorary assistant, HA Striker. So go and annoy someone else.
Also, some people have problems with growing Tactical Office and
increasing numbers of testers and engineers. This people should realize that one
of TAC's core duties are maintaining, improving and expanding EH Mission
Compendium. GA Ronin wants new battles, and I follow his orders. More and more
people create new battles, and I have more and more new submissions, so I need
more people. And you can do nothing about it. If you have problems, go and talk
to our Fleet Commander. As long as I am here, new missions will be releases
every week.
Friendly warning to all who would like to question TAC of Command Staff
I've noticed huge amount of disrespect toward my person. I've
also noticed that some people have problems with *@*.pl email addresses and
people using it, in other words people from Poland. This has not only been
spotted by me, but also by people who are not polish. Hear that loud and clear.
This ends now! Next time I see anyone doing it, and anyone having problems with
people living in Poland, or any other country I won't hesitate and inform SO and
FC himself.
It is clearly stated than YOU WILL NOT insult anyone in this
club because of his origin or nationality. Racism will not be tolerated in this
club. You don't like how it work, leave. But we will never allow you to
discriminate anyone because of his nationality.
In Tactical Office I have many different people from many
different counties. But I never had any problems with people because they live
in Germany, UK, Estonia or any other country. And I expect all people to do the
same. No discrimination!
Also I am sick to death of people trying to "order" TAC what to
do and how to do his job. C'mon. Make up your mind. If you want to suggest
something, then do it, but do not try to order me. When I give you decision,
there's nothing you can do about it. Actually you can try mailing FC or XO, but
I am pretty sure they will agree with me. Same thing with rest of Command Staff.
They have not been appointed to be your friends. They are here to make sure
Emperor's Hammer is moving on. They are here to do hard work. It's military
dictatorship, not democracy. When CO say, it goes. That's the way it always was
and that's the way it will be. :)
To give you example of good suggestion. Former CA:TAC, Arso
suggested me on Message Board to post announcements about new battles and
mission on TC.News. It was great idea and I gladly accepted it :)

Tactical Office Person of the Week:
This week I've selected Darth Vader, as Person of the Week. As
recommended by TCC:XvT/LC Pellaeon:
This week i recommend VA Darth Vader again, he tested and corrected like a crazy
one. I count over 9 beta test on hard and 14 corrections, I this was one of the
most impessive work I've see in my TAC duty. Well done Vader :-)
Great job DV. You have earned 1 point. I remind all TCCs to send
their PotW recommendations. So current standings look as follows:
Frodo - 1
Tealyan - 1
Darth Vader - 2
So Darth Vader wins IS-GR and we start again!

Cheating cases:
Good and bad news. I've sent 2 people to HCI and I am
investigating 2 cases. My CA is working on one investigation and it seems case
will go to HCI. What's good. One person explained himself and has been set free.
Well, it seems some people ignore messages from TAC and continue
cheating. People. It's simple game. You vs me. Your knowledge vs mine. I've not
been appointed TAC to drink beer and get medals. I am here to make sure noone
who is cheating will go without punishment. No matter how hard you try, I will
catch you. I know everything about pilot file and HSs checking, so please,
better stop cheating.
Final word:
My office is always open, and you can find me on IRC. Don't

Colossus Commodore Steps Down
Following several months excellent stewardship, Vice Admiral Absolut Vodka (VAAV...hehe)
has decided to step down as the Commodore of the ISD Colossus. Fortunately he
won't be disappearing completely as he's taken over Commander of Pi Squadron in
the same Wing. Many thanks go out to AV for all the hard work and time he put in
as Commodore.
Do NOT apply for COM. Either myself or BGCOM/VA Krax will announce the new
ColCOM in the next few days.

This means that personal pages, Flight pages etc are not required. In addition,
the time to meet these standards has been extended to FOUR weeks from last
Sunday, so you have until March 1st to get pages up to scratch.
In relation to this, LCM Thorin Oaksomething is offering his services to build
basic pages. Full details can be found at

Training
Office Report #1: 02.02.03
As Emailed From:
Training Officer (VA Keldorn)
First and foremost, I wish to extend my most profuse gratitude
to SA Astatine and GA Ronin for appointing me to the position of Training
Officer; its been a long wait, but Im certainly glad to be here. Ive only
held the position for 7 hours, but Im already getting the feel for the job, and
have just about managed to get some items up-to-date I can now understand the
sheer workload that previous Training Officers have had to work with, and I
commend them for it.
All 25 Competitions awaiting review have now been processed; most were approved,
but several require more information or approval from another Office. One fact
that Id like to remind you all of is that Merit Medals (Imperial Security Medal
etc.) can never, under normal circumstances, be bestowed as an award for a
Competition placement. The Operations Office undoubtedly has further details
regarding this, but the general rule is that all Competitions, if they require a
Medal as a reward, should follow the Iron Star series (or the SubGroup
equivalent).
The IWATS Staff listing will be updated shortly, reflecting those that departed
their positions previously, leaving the Staff count at approximately 18-19;
depending on the outcome of several queries Ive sent out. There is currently
only one vacant position on the IWATS Staff, that of Computer Basics Professor;
I have made some inquiries and am considering an amply qualified candidate for
the post.
SA Astatine has brought to my attention the slightly dwindling participation in
IWATS Courses; there could be several reasons for this, avenues I will be
exploring within the next few weeks trying several possible remedies. I have
spoken to President Trow and Deputy Grand Master Mairin about including
advertising for IWATS Courses in either their SubGroups enrolment e-mails, or
to more actively promote IWATS after their new members have completed the SGs
own training requirements. I will shortly be contacting other SubGroups about
following similar actions, if they do not already do so.
I have spoken to Admiral Leeson, and he has agreed to develop a small online
database for Professors to log their Course Graduates into. In the past,
obtaining Course Graduate Counts has proven a difficult task, but, hopefully,
once this system is complete, Professors will be able to keep their graduate
details updated, and I will be able to access the details without having to go
through the laborious task of chasing up some Professors.
Herein ends my first report as Training Officer; it will indubitably be one of
the smaller examples. Until next week.

Report: 02.09.03
As Emailed From: Operations
Officer (VA Khaine)
Operations Office
The first week as Operations Officer has been interesting, with
326 medal recommendations processed at time of writing. The ongoing project
looking into the awarding of medals, and the reasons behind them has turned up a
few interesting little points that I will clarify below.
There are a few issues concerning medal recommendations that need to be
clarified. This is something of a policy change, agreed on by the FO, FA Priyum
and myself. This may seem rather harsh at first glance, but read the rest and
hopefully it will all become clear.
First, I will not accept reaching a set number of FCHG or CR points as
justification for a merit medal of any sort, as all too often these have already
been rewarded at either a lesser point level, during a monthly evaluation or in
the case of the CR points, in the form of LoCs and DFCs.
Next, flying will no longer be considered acceptable for a Silver Star. As per
the Operations Manual, a member will have to contribute something exceptional
from which a larger group, be it a squadron, wing, ship or the TC itself, gains
some benefit to be awarded with a Silver Star. This would most commonly, but not
always, be part of an MSE in which several months effort in leadership, activity
and contributions to their unit would be rewarded.
Following on from this, the Bronze Star is much the same, but truly exceptional
efforts in flying can and will be rewarded. As previously mentioned, simply
gaining FCHG or CR points will not be acceptable. As per the manual, the Bronze
Star would usually be awarded for excellent service in the member's assigned
position, and while flying may be part of their duties, I would expect that in
most cases the member would be shown to be performing well in their other
duties, and contributing in some useful way. The Palpatine Crescent and Imperial
Security Medal are much the same, but for lesser degrees of participation or
contribution.
Now there are no truly hard and fast rules or set totals for flying performance
or anything else, what I want to see is a reason demonstrating to me why the
member should be given that award. The questions I ask myself when considering
whether to approve any award are: What has this member done to set themselves
above average? Has the member shown improved contribution or participation? Have
they been previously rewarded for these efforts?
Most importantly, I do try to keep track of who has been awarded what, and why.
Do not recommend a medal for say, an excellent effort in flying during the week
for example, then request another using the same reason when the monthly
evaluation rolls around. The same applies to various service medals, if they
have been awarded one, that activity cannot be used for a reason for a merit
medal on it's own. Let me reiterate, if they have previously been rewarded for
an action, they cannot be awarded for the same action, but it can be used as a
general activity recommendation in combination with other more pertinent
reasons.
Now, onto a few more general notes.
- Please don't cut and paste from MSE's if you are recommending
a medal. A few written lines is much quicker to assess, and a lot more useful
should I compare it with the previous months.
- Uniforms are going well, I haven't seen anything outside the
accepted limits to date. Keep it up.
- Also on the subject uniforms, I have yet to upload much of the
uniform archive, which I will be hosting at another site from that of the
Operations Office. Some time this week I hope to have all the links to it hooked
up. - I am working on a FAQ that will hopefully cover most basic procedural
questions related to the Operations Office. If you do have any questions, ask
and I may put it into the FAQ because you are probably not the only one with
that question.
Until next week,

Report #36: 02.07.03
As Emailed From:
Communications Officer (AD Motti)
Communications Office
Lots of news this week, and the return of COMM product reviews!!
1- New COMMA
With Kumba's departure from the Communications Office, we needed a new botmaster
COMMA, and having recently vacated the position of LO, FA AbsoluteK offered his
services to become our new botmaster general. The addition of AbK to the office
is very important, because with him he brings his EH veteran knowledge, his
servers, and his all-around know-how of the web to make the COMM office able to
do so much more than before. Needless to say, AbK may be doing a lot more than
running bots as a COMMA. But speaking of bots, there's a...
2- New COMM bot!
OK, maybe he's not THAT new, but nevertheless, since Kumba left our office, we
also had to find a new COMM bot to regulate IRC. Well we have that new bot, and
it goees by the name "dasb0t". You can find it in all the channels that
DeathFyre had previously occupied. dasb0t's official EH homepage is
http://dasb0t.emperorshammer.ca/
3- New site, new location
Thanks once again to FA AbK, the COMM Office has a new location, and a new look!
Using the fabulous PHPNuke proogram, AbK was able to make a new sharp-looking
office page for us, and is also hosting it on his own server. The new location
is http://www.theholo.net (sorry to anyone
I told it was comm.emperorshammer.ca, that's changed already :P). By the end of
this weekend, the site will be complete, although I'd say it's about 95% ported
over from the old site already!
4- X list updated
There's been a good bit of command turnover lately, and the X access list has
been appropriately updated. There were a few new CO's appointed this weekend, so
as soon as these new CS appointees email me their X logins, they will also get
access!
5- And now, return of the reviews!
This week FA AbsoluteK reveiws Eudora for us...
One of the most popular, perhaps the most important aspects of the Internet is
email. Some people prefer webmail accounts such as those offered by Hotmail or
Yahoo, but those are often littered with advertisements and spam so people like
myself prefer to use an email program on my own computer. There are many
different email programs available for use on a computer such as Outlook,
Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape Messenger which all offer many features.
Myself, I use Eudora. Why Eudora you might ask? Well its due in part to security
concerns with Outlook, and also in part to the fact that I have multiple email
accounts, and am a member of many mailing lists.
Eudora was made for people who get lots of email (to quote the Eudora site), and
as such has enhanced filters for sorting and/or flagging emails. For example I
have a filter in Eudora that moves incoming mail from the Corporate Division
mailing list into a folder called "Corporate Division". This allows me to not
only keep better track of my CD mail by keeping it all in one place, but to also
enable me to read emails which are subjectively all similar at the same time (so
as to keep my mind going on the same track, without jumping all over the place).
Being of a security conscious mind set, I also like the fact that Eudora
supports the SSL-POP protocol. Normally when you use a pop email account, your
account information such as your user name and password are sent across the
Internet to the mail server in plain text. That means anybody can read your
password. Using SSL-POP, I'm able to keep my information secret. Another
security advantage in using Eudora, is the fact that most email virii are
written for Outlook, making it even harder for your computer to succumb to evil
script kiddies. Eudora also warns users about the dangers of running attachments
with out first checking them for malicious code.
Every now and then people will write emails that might possible be offensive, so
Eudora has a feature called 'Mood Watch'. What this does, is
it flags emails that may be offensive with red peppers. Thereby allowing you
(hopefully) to respond in a more calm, prepared manner.
Some of the other features offered by Eudora include ESP (Eudora Sharing
Protocol), which allows you to sync files with family, friends or coworkers, and
email usage statistics which offer an insight into your day to day habits.
Eudora also offers full support for HTML email, fast
searches through thousands of emails, migration from other email clients such as
Outlook, colour coded labels (for sorting emails), multiple email accounts,
multiple signatures and inline spell checking.
It would be impossible to go over ever single feature in Eudora, so I would
encourage anybody with a POP/IMAP email account to check out Eudora for
themselves. You can download it at
http://www.eudora.com for either MS Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP, or for the
MacOS (8.6-9.x, and OS X).

One member was sent to the HCI this week: Mirei Seppen. Most
times when you insult the FC and/or XO to his face, he will remove you without
a trial. Ronin requested that Mirei be charged and put on trial in the HCI. I
investigated and sent Mirei to the High Court of Inquisitors.
About the normal amount of complaints were received this week. I'm still
noticing that you should try the chain of command first. Normally
your direct superior, or SGCOM/FO can handle things in a more timely fashion
than I can. If after trying the chain of command, you are not
satisfied, then contact me.
There are cases where using the chain of command is not helpful. It is for
severe offenses. (This would include hacking on someone else's
computer, abusing power, sabotage, consorting with an expelled member, or
repeated minor offenses). Each complaint is different, so it is hard to
generalize on what are major or minor offenses. Try to use your best judgment.
I also like to remind those who send complaints that my staff consists of 3
members (not including me). We cannot monitor IRC and the Message Boards at all
times. Hopefully on IRC there are channel operators who are active in the
channel at the time to enforce Codes of Conduct. If there aren't any active
channel operators, then be sure to log the incident and inform me (or your
superior officer).
Remember to keep on updating your anti-virus programs and scanning on a regular
basis. I continue to receive mail that is the result of the
Klez virus or similar worm viruses. A note to members: If you receive an e-mail
from a @emperorshammer.org e-mail address and are not sure
about the file attachment, DO NOT OPEN IT! People are sending viruses (mostly
unknowingly) using those e-mail addresses in the "From:" field.
Be sure to view all message headers and send that information to the Internet
Officer, FA Ari ( io@emperorshammer.org
).
I always investigate complaints and evidence to make sure that people aren't
being accused of violations simply because the accusing member does not like the
accused member. If I find someone doing this, you will be in BIG trouble--we're
talking a chance of severe
punishment/banishment. I cannot stand to see blackmail, intimidation, or abuse
of power. It makes the EH a worse place to be for the members and alters the
perception of the club. Remember, we are here to have fun. Those members who
have their fun making other member's lives like crap will face their punishment.

Science Office
"We were drinking in the lab late one night... When our booze
revealed its dangerous might: The clones in their tanks began to rise... And
suddenly, to our surprise..."
<salute>
Welcome to my thirteenth public report as a Science Officer, late as usual...
(Sorry, but hey: you try to be absentminded and on time at the same time ;)):
Science Office News:
1. Big news of this week is the release of the Modified Strike Cruiser for XWA.
It features working gravwells and actually makes the chance of XWA crashing
smaller if you have an updated shiplist.txt installed. The M/SC is available
from the Patch Archive on the SCO site, under the Infiltrator Wing Section. The
OPT was made by CM Timmay, patch by Den and myself. We're looking into adding it
to XvT and TIE as well, but that would most likely be without working gravwells
- so I'm not sure if there would be any use for
it.
2. The IWTAC Sienar has converted the E-Wing OPT for XvT to XWA
which means we'll probably have a patch for that soon as well - if we ever get a
better XWA-level OPT we will update it with that, but this at least means the IW
has something to work with till that time. I'll probably use a similar tactic
for the TIE Phantom.
3. Working on a new version of a "fly imperial craft" patch for
X-Wing. X-Wing seems to be a forgotten platform, but XW95 came generally
together with TIE'95 and has the same graphics quality as XvT, BoP and TIE95.
Making missions for it is simple... and the best introduction into mission
creation: its like making XWA skirmishes with a briefing. If you can make a XW
mission however, you can make basic working missions for all the platforms. If
you need any help making XW missions - don't hesitate to contact me.
4. AD Leeson is making Nova Shipyards into a logistics game like
Transport/Railroad/Pizza Tycoon, A-train etc. The idea is that CD members
get to buy freighters and transports which they can use to move freight from one
planet to the other, making money they can invest again to upgrade their
freighters and routes to increase speed and security. I think this would be a
very nice game for everyone to enjoy, so the science Office helps out with the
craft part. We're hoping to add some additional freighter/transport patches and
such soon to give even more variation.
5. Research points out that an XvT mission file can have a
maximum of 48 Flight Groups (32 Craft at the same time in the game is not the
same.) and a file size of around 200 kb, though I have successfully tested XvT
missions of about 211 kb. If you cross these lines you will probably be plopped
back to desktop by XvT. A fully filled out Flight Group is about 3kb, so that's
an easy way to bring file size down again. Currently researching briefing
unknowns, it seems a "1" in the first slot makes a briefing invisible...
6. Again: Because of the numerous questions about this matter
I'd like to explain how the XPinstaller works. (I didn't know either by the way,
sorry to those I might have misinformed.) XP Batch Installer v0.1: "Simple
utility that will allow Windows XP users get around XP's limited DOS shell
support to install EH custom craft on their computers. Unzip XPInstaller to your
\EHPatch folder. Usage: XPInstaller <filename.bat> (Note: The *.bat extension
must be included or the program will not be able to find the batch file.)
7. As a side note I'd like to add that it helps to read a
readme.txt or look on the SCO site, especially the FAQ, before you mail me with
questions that could have been solved by you just reading. I have made a
template mail that you will receive automatically if you still mail me on a
matter like you not unzipping correctly. If you have a real problem I'll help
you as far as I can, of course.
Science Office Status:
CA: Admiral Darkhill has been working on a new version of the Briefing Launcher
for XWA, and the Shuttle and Rebel craft launchers for TIE. I was able to have a
full test of the XWA launcher this week, so there's definitely progress. After
the Windows versions are done there will be a
TIECD version in DOS and it will all be released as one big package. Great work
there Den! :)
SCOA: LC Shadd is back and has been keeping up with Slicing news across the web.
Some of his findings:
-
http://www.swbattlefield.com/ - These fine folks are making a star wars
total conversion of Battlefield 1942, supposedly with both SP and MP mods. Aside
from the AT-ST pictures on the main site I've found no other pictures there. I
was lead there from another site that had pictures of the battle of Hoth mod for
that game. Which looked pretty sweet, they plan to have a full beta out by
summer and have a 1.0 out by Christmas.
- An Imperial hanger for XWA! It's being made for a TIE
conversation to XWA.
http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003004
Its a work in progress, but how sweet its looking
SCOA: LT Kweeky has started on a project to modify Descent: Freespace II to a
Star wars game for the Emperor's Hammer. The game source code is currently
freely available and its still better then XWA in looks and such. Also, mission
editors are available and it seems like the mod will be simple enough to do by
converting OPT to 3DS to FOB. The mod will probably not feature much in missions
outside a demo mission because any others would be better located on the
compendium.
Site: The Science Office site can be found at
http://sco.minos.net or via the redirect
http://scienceoffice.isCool.net.
Some smaller updates done to the patch archive and the AGI Project website. I
will add full Star Wars Galactic Battle Grounds support ASAP, since I acquired
several mission editors for that as well. Problem for now seems to be that the
save games ("pilotfiles" in TC lingo) are not too helpful in telling us stats.
Science Office Projects:
XvT/BoP/TIE95 Ship patches: This project's goal is to add all the original and
Order of Battle craft that are still "missing" from these games, like
the SSD in TIE and XvT, the Medium Transport in all etc. Several of these will
be finished soon for my own TIE Fighter battle at least; these include
the Bulk Cruiser, Assault Frigate and others. The TIE Vanguard for XvT was
released right after the last report and the Luggage patch is near ready.
Working on making the R41 and T-W flyable and reslotting the patch craft. XvT
section temporarily on hold till I find a BHE module for XvT - new TIE95 fighter
patches seem to be up next.
XWA Ship patches: Primarily the plan is to clear out the backlog of craft
arranged by earlier SCO's and such, like the Trithan Interceptor (Kermee), the
Hyperion (Den), the Alvaakian Craft (me) and the new fighter for Avenger
Squadron (AES). The Trithan Interceptor and Hyperion are now ready, working on
the Jedi Fighter before I continue to the Alvaak Fighter, as that's based on it.
Released the Modified Strike Cruiser this week.
Emperor's Hammer Adventure Games: Khadgar has made process on a beginners guide
to AGI/SCI which should greatly help along this project to make it possible to
create EH games in the style of "Space Quest", "Kings Quest" or "Leisure Suit
Larry". The EH total Conversion of "Larry" is nearly completed: about 90% of the
views are done, and 50% of the pictures (22 out of 40). I added a screenshot of
the Flight Office on the AGI Project Site.
Finishing up:
I think that's it - If I've forgotten anything or if you have comments,
suggestions or corrections, let me know via email. Don't forget that all the
projects are described in more detail on the SCO site.
(Use only mindb_ender@hotmail.com
for official SCO mails.) or ICQ (9706474). Preferably do not mail large files to
me, but DCC them via IRC - I'm practically always online at #emperor's_hammer
and #tiecorps using the nick MindB_ndr (or variations.)
All my SCO reports are available online as well: you can reach them on the SCO
site:
http://www.minos.net/~sco/reports/index.html or on the TIE Corps site, CS
reports.
Until next time, good luck and have fun!

Updating of the EH Codex and other historical archives, as well as the
acquisition of webspace to host the various files from is the main priority.
However, there is also another, it appears that when he left office that FA
Aiden Cantor Karias deleted the pages that had all of the files and
information.
Thanks to Colonel Ramos (former LO/AD Ramos) I have a website that has some of
the information I need.
My plans will be accomplished in several phases.
Phase 1 - Webpage setup
Phase 2 - EH Codex download and update
Phase 3 - Historical Archives download and update
Phase 4 - The Emperor's Hammer Glossary setup and inception
Phase 5 - Newsletter hosting, currently AbsoluteK is hosting the sites for
thisI'm going to talk to him and see if he wants me to take over this or if
he's willing to keep doing it.
Phase 1 is now complete with the Logistics Office located at:
http://users.techline.com/hceline/logistics
Once the 4 other Phases are complete I have bunch of projects to jump into, some
are already underway.
1.. Polling Center
2.. Mr/Miss EH
3.. Timeline
4.. Memorium
5.. Census
6.. Codex
- The Polling Center is in limbo currently
- The Mr/Miss EH project is entering its 5th running thanks to COL Ramos who
started it before I was even appointed to LO, he is collecting the information
for me and Ill get it moving ahead further once I have the files needed.
- Timeline hasnt changed much since I helped update it last (though that was
back when I was CA:XO to Compton)
- Memorium, this was lost when AbK took down his sites, if someone has updated
files to help me out here thatd be great
- Census, Id like to get this going soon if possible and appoint some Census
Takers (flashback to 3 Stooges episode).
- Codex, this is actually above all others as projects go but listed last in
that its a continuous thing and the others are either from time to time or
rarely.

The Dark Brotherhood of Jedi
1) Here it is folks! The eagerly awaited Great Jedi War is
finally upon us. Make me proud and slaughter your opponents and make them regret
they ever faced you!
Keep in mind that like all the other large scale competitions that happened
recently, the rewards for this will be commensurate with the participation of
the Clans. The more you fight, the better the goodies!
As a side note, it's quite possible that I show up in some of these competitions
just for fun. I might play a game or two of JK2 or something like that. I
haven't decided yet and it will depend quite a bit on my availability, but I
think it could be interesting. :)
2) There were some concerns this week about Shadow being both in Taldryan and
having worked directly on the GJW. I can assure you that I trust him fully and
know that he would never abuse this trust.
In any case, he can participate in any event, but he cannot win anything. This
has long been a standard rule of mine and it applies here as well. If someone
participates in the creation of an event, they can participate in it, but not
win it.
The whole DC-Taldryan thing will be solved once this GJW is over anyway.
3) I suggest you take a good long look at the Tau website
http://www.knology.net/~reinthaler/
I believe it certainly fits the personality of the squadron! Scary when you
think that they main preoccupation should be to keep me alive! :P
4) I'd like to remind everyone to submit to the EH newsletter (and our own for
that matter). I will not be happy until I see the DB overwhelming them with our
(high quality) submissions! I know DB members have the talent, now let's go and
show those slackers in the other subgroups what we're made of. :)
5) Once the GJW is fully underway, I'll start working on the next DB-wide
competition. Assuming I get things done the way I want to, it should be very
interesting. I don't intend to start it any time before July at the earliest. I
want to give the Clans plenty of time to run their own competitions. You can bug
me for details about it if you think you're have the endurance for it. I can be
very stubborn. :P

30 entries marked from 12 agents. The current results are as follows.
Another 3 weeks to go...
Current Bureau Results
Bureau Of Operations: 140
Internal Organisation: 106
Analysis Bureau: 77
Plexus Bureau: 12
Excellent. BLDR Aseret has not sent me the results of the BOO v. ANLY comp,
though those should be ready soon.
Also, CPT ObiVader's Trivia competition ends this weekend. Phennir is way in the
lead followed by yours truly.
2. Speaking of Prae, there's good news, bad news, and no news. The good news is
that CMDR Hunter has been promoted to Major! Congrats!
The bad news is that he's out for a few days due to a cold. Get well soon.
The no news is the results of the Prae-Beth comp still haven't been processed.
I'm sure they'll be out when Hunter returns.
3. I downloaded a program called Trillian this week. Why do you care? Well, this
allows me to chat via AIM and ICQ (and MSN Messenger and IRC and Yahoo!IM),
giving me another mode of communication. So, this is how everyone can reach me:
Email: troutrooper@yahoo.com OR
sdir@ehintel.org (they both go to the same
address, so send to only one of those addresses)
AIM: troutrooper64
ICQ: 98721480
Yahoo!IM: Troutrooper (I guess. Tis my Yahoo name)
IRC: Trouty, AD|Trout
Note to UBIQ: if you want me to post your contact info here, just tell me so.
Also, I can post this on Ehintel.org, too, if people want.
4. A couple ID members received some promotions this week...Man, that's lame.
They get some cool promos, but nobody can congratulate them (except the UBIQ)
cause their covers would be blown if we did. Well, you know who you are, so
enjoy them! :D
5. This isn't so much news as a random bit o' fact. In most subgroups, when
activity is high, reports are long, detailed, and factual. Projects are
showcased, individual members honored, etc. However, in the ID, reports are
short when activity is high. I cannot divulge mission information, but then
again, most people are busy with assignments. Weird.
And that concludes another mysterious weird report!

The Fringe - EH Roleplaying Game (EH RPG)
A New Year
Population: 76 Members
========================================
Work continues ever onward in the Fringe. Follows are some updates from last
weeks report:
The Registrar position has been filled. Welcome our new Reg, Creon Redwing.
The Director of Dice RPG position has also been filled. Welcome our new D-DRPG,
Mage.
The Ring Leader position has a few applications, and this position will be
filled as soon as a few things are talked out.
Thank you to everyone who helped out.
There are some new happenings in the Fringe. The RPG Maker program is being
given another try, as there seems to be some interest in the creation of an EH
RPG. Contact uber_mark@hotmail.com,
if your interested. He also has a channel set up #EH_RPG to talk. I know he has
already contacted some members on this. Here's wishing you good luck.
The MUD is flowing smoothly. Total membership is up, as well as Daily players
online. Congratulations to everyone involved in this surge.
The Sim platform is having a little bit of activity problems, but expect this to
be resolved shortly.
The DRPG platform will have a webpage up soon, keep looking for this.
Star Wars Galaxies is having some progress. Check out the Fringe Forum, at
ehnet.org/mb to see the discussion.
In management news, there are a few things going on.
The Fringe Academy page should be up soon. This should make things easier on you
CIVs.
The Liasion office should be getting the boost it needs within the next week or
two. This will be very good, as this is the staff I need to get to work on the
EH RPG Project.
The Rings are starting to get active, everyone give a cheer for the Chain of
Command.
Lastly, look for some manual updates within the next few weeks. I'll be adding
some clarifications, and additional duties in some places.
That is all for this week

Staff Appointments (TO, LO and OPS): 02.03.03
As Submitted From: Fleet
Commander (GA Ronin) and Executive
Officer (SA Astatine)
New TO, LO and OPS selected:
After a long selection process, the positions of Training and Logistics Officers
have been filled. For TO, VA Keldorn has
been selected. AD Tron has been
appointed to Logistics Officer. Thanks for everyone else who applied and
congratulations to the appointees.
FA Howlader's CA:OPS (VA
Khaine) has been selected to take over as Operations Officer (OPS).
SA Astatine - XO/GA Ronin - FC
FA Howlader's resignation notice
Well, EH'ers, this is it. The Howie retires. After three
years, and a couple of days (I'm not going to count, does it really matter?) I
won't be the Operations Officer anymore, and its about damn time too :P
But seriously, I'm gone. At least, from that job. I won't be disappearing quite
yet, I'll still be kicking around, offering advice and putting my
nose into situations it doesn't belong.
My pieces of advice:
1. Have fun, if you're not having fun, find something better
to do in the EH
2. Listen to your superiors, more often than not, they know what they're doing.
I've been in the EH for 5 years, and I've seen many, many CO's, and within that,
I've seen four Executive Officers. Is Astatine the best one? I'm not sure. But
in time, I think he'll prove to be just that. So listen to him.
So, what is gonna happen with the Operations Office? Well, Khaine's taking over.
So in case anyone is thinking (you know who you are..) "Yay, command change,
that means I can get things to slip through!" You can't, Khaine knows exactly
what he's doing. Other than that, though, it will be his ship now, and I hope
that everyone will treat him the same way (if not better), they treated me.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

XO Report
20: 01.31.03
As Submitted From:
Executive Officer (SA Astatine)
Office of the XO
A bit over a year ago, I was appointed XO. In my first report, I
outlined a group of goals that I wanted to achieve. Some of those goals
are on the way to being achieved, while others still need some work. Those goals
will not happen unless two things happen. Firstly, all
members working hard towards those goals, and secondly, all members working
together. I will be expecting 2003 to be a year of high output
and cooperation between all COs.
In line with this, I have set goals and projects for most of the COs. Those I
haven't mailed yet will receive their emails soon. These instructions are not
recommendations. You will not pick and choose which you will do. These goals and
projects are coming down from me as an effort to coordinate the work of all COs
for maximum result for the entire EH. So, if these projects don't exactly make
sense, keep that in mind. It might be something to benefit the entire EH, not
just your corner of it.
As a result of these higher expectation, core duties such as reports will be
expected on time. They will also be expected to be more than filling fluff to
make up a few paragraphs, and for SGCOMs, the reports are not to be straight
copy-pastes of the reports of your subordinates. Meeting attendance has been
fairly woeful for a couple years now. I'm hoping this will also improve.
An issue that has raised its head lately is people who think they can have the
best of both sides - be in the EH and not follow the directives of those in
senior positions. I've personally tried to be patient with these people but my
patience has worn off. Any resistance, refusal of any form to an order from a CO
without justification will be referred to the SO.
I'll be hoping to get a few NLs out in the next week or two to get us caught up
with being on time again. The vacant CO positions should be
filled this weekend as well.

Tactical Office Report #74:
01.31.03
As Emailed From:
Tactical Officer (AD Mike)
Tactical Office
New battles and free missions
I've released new battles and free mission today. What is good
office speeds up and we release more and more missions every week. Currently we
have almost 2700 missions online and we should hit 3000 very soon. It will great
milestone and achievement of Tactical Office.
What's more. We have new battletypes. Thanks to Ender mBind we have XW-TC
battles, after "Xunami Wings" we have released XvT-CAB battles, BoP-DB and BoP-ID
is coming soon. But I would also like to see some battle from CD or even other
SubGroups.
Another good thing is increased number of testers and member of Tactical Office.
My goal is to have 100 members working for Tactical Office, and it seems we are
closer to this goal every week.
Clarification about IRC
It seems some people misunderstood my statement about IRC, so I
will try to do it more clear. I am on IRC to asnwer your question, help you with
your problems and other similar things. But do not ask me about medals, high
scores, etc. That kind of things should be mailed. I am only human, I can
forget. So use email.
TAC hits 23
Yes. I'm 23 now, next goal 24 :P Thanks to all who wished me happy bday, I
appreciate that.
Tactical Office Competitions #1 and #2
They end today in.. *checks the clock*.. 7 hours, 11 minutes. I
will announce results on Tie Corps meetins, cause I want my CA to help me judge
them. So Tactical Office will have new banner very soon :)
On information about rules of Tac Office
I am not against realistic battles. Tactical Office rule states
that you cannot kill GA Ronin, SA Astatine or any high ranked members of EH.
About ships. I can understand realism, and I am not against loosing our ISDs.
However KEEP IT REAL! Also, I herby set rule that it's only allowed in CAB and
FCHG battles, where you have huge plotline.
KEEP IT REAL. Loosing EH ISD because squadron of enemy Y-Wings
attacked it is not allowed (primary goals cannot accept it), however when ISD is
overrun by the enemy, and crew decide to fight till the end, to save many lifes,
then I will accept it. Also, when we are loosing ISD, then it is good when
command staff of this ISD evacuates before destruction.
You can even state in plotline that ship has been rebuilt after victory of EH (I
assume your battle will end with EH victory).
On a side note: it will be included in Tac Man 3.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tactical Office Person of the Week:
This week I've selected Darth Vader, as Person of the Week. As recommended by
TCC:XvT/LC Pellaeon:
POTW: My recommenation this week is Darth Vader. He rejoined this week TAC
Office, and worked here like a huricane :-P He flew the most beta missions and
corrected the most of them, he gave an exellent show of his longtime serve
experience. Glad to have him in my staff.
Great job DV. You have earned 1 point. I remind all TCCs to send their PotW
recomendations. So current standings look as follows:
Frodo - 1
Tealyan - 1
Darth Vader - 1
So because there is no winner, we have to wait until next week

Cheating cases:
Unfortunately there will be cheating case again, and it is
possible second will follow. I will probably email HCI tomorrow, and second case
needs to be investigated more, cause I have to be 100% sure.
Remember. If you think you escaped me because I approved your
illegal High Score, then you can't be more wrong. I have nice tactics, observing
certain members. I simply approve your HS and I wait and observe you. So if you
cheat, sooner of later I will knock to your door and bring platoon of troopers
with me.
Right now I am observing 5-6 people. No decisions has been made
yet, but if they cheat, they will meet the blade of EH justice very soon.
Remember. Cheating is never worth an effort. When you cheat you try to test my
skills. You cheat because you think you are smart, more smart than me, or you
cheat good enough. Trust me. I know everything about TIE, XvT/BoP and XWA. Soon
I will be certified engineer of computer science, so I know a lot about
programming, and all those things connected with computers. Don't cheat.
High Scores
Remember people. I'm sick to death of you bugging me to process high scores.
Learn to be patient. All HSs are processed as fast as I can. You bug me, you get
+1 week bonus. I hope that is clear.
Final word:
My office is always open, and you can find me on IRC. Don't hesitate to ask
or mail me. Visit Tactical channel #tac and ask question there. Cya next week

Flight Office
Greetings all and welcome to this week's report from the Flight
Office...
- News
TIE Corps Homepage Standards
Myself and the Internet Officer, FA Ari, have produced a list of standards that
ALL TC homepages must meet:
Mandatory Pages:
News page
Squadron/Wing orders
Competitions/War Room - current and past with results
Mandatory Links:
TC Main Page
TC Message Board
Flight Office (Fleet Standing Orders)
EH Main Page
Privacy Policies and Disclaimers
Articles of War and Codes of Conduct
Recommended Pages & Links:
Recruitment Page/Enlistment Link
Squadron/SovWing/Ship/BG Standing Orders
Roster/Link to eh.net roster
Manual Links (Training, Ops, Combat, Fleet, War etc)
Various Office/Bio pages
Other message board links
Reports listing
Periodical awards (i.e. WC's Own, Pilot of the Month, etc.)
Additional guidelines:
-
Wing/BG pages should preferably have an automated news system
with CMDRs(for Wing pages)/COMs(for BG pages) able to post.
Links must be up-to-date (i.e. no links to the old "TC Message Center")
-
Credit should be given to the original author(s) of the page, as
well as any current maintainers.
-
Font is preferably anything but Times New Roman, default size.
-
Site should work on 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions.
-
Squadron Commanders and above: Make sure your pages meet these
requirements - you have TWO weeks to bring them up to standard. My Flight Office
staff are currently reviewing all pages so make sure you do it. If you have any
questions, then send them to
spellfire@btinternet.com
Omega Commander
Following General Compton's resignation earlier this week, a new CMDR for the
Elite Omega Squadron has been selected. Congratulations go out to Colonel
Sasquatch! Sas was my very first CMDR in the TC, and remains one of the finest
I've ever seen. I have high hopes for him and the Squadron.
Relentless Commodore
After a considerable delay, a new COM for the ISD Relentess has been selected.
Congrats go out to the former Wing XI WC, Rear Admiral Autoris. There were 3 or
4 excellent applicants, and the decision was not easy. However, myself and VA
Krax are confident the correct selection has been made and expect Autoris to
continue his standard of command on the Rel.
TIE Corps Banner Contest Results
The TC banner competition is now over and I've decided on the winners:
1st: Captain Tempest, Kappa Squadron, awarded Iron Star - Gold Ribbon
2nd: Lieutenant Colhar Jeth Sudar, Storm Squadron, awarded Iron Star - Silver
Ribbon
3rd: Lieutenant Colonel Wysseri Arestar, Omicron Squadron, awarded Iron Star -
Bronze Ribbon
Congratulations to these three individuals. The winning entries and all other
submissions can be viewed HERE
The winning submission should be uploaded on the TC's frontpage shortly.
IRC Policy
Unlike some of my peers, I will continue to answer EH related questions on IRC.
There's quality of service for you.
Respectfully,

Internet Office News
Biggest news this week was the release of the TC Homepage Guidelines. Some
important points: All TC squadrons, wings, ships, and battlegroups must have a
website which complies with these regulations. All existing sites have until
February 9th to comply with no exceptions. Those without any site should begin
looking into getting one up and running ASAP. Those with problems should speak
directly to me, and extra time may be granted on a case-by-case basis. A full
list of the guidelines is available at:
http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php#tcguides.
We have come up with a preliminary design for the EH Domain, and we'll be
reworking it a little and fitting all the pages in well. It looks very cool, and
very fitting for the EH as it expands rapidly. Thanks to Keldorn for his hard
work on it!
The brand new bot in #tiecorps and #emperor's_hammer, dasb0t, now has a homepage
with a list of commands which you can find at http://dasb0t.emperorshammer.ca.
Thanks to FA AbsoluteK for his hard work on it!
Also, FA AbK has put up WEHR, another EH Radio station for DJs with higher
speeds and connections. WEHR, at:
http://emperorshammer.ca:8000/, streams at 56kbps while HARA, at
http://corporatedivision.com:8000/
streams at 24kbps. DJs interested in broadcasting at higher speeds should
contact FA AbK.
Other projects in the IO in previous reports are coming along with not many new
significant developments yet. Stay tuned!

Security Office
Computer viruses are spreading rampant -- update virus
definitions and scan regularly, never open attachments you are not sure of. If
you want to report the virus, copy the e-mail header information (you may have
to select to view all headers from your e-mail program) and send it to FA Ari at
( io@emperorshammer.org ). He handles
the viruses. I am only to be contacted if you feel a member has sent a virus to
another member knowingly. The viruses that spread these days usually send their
own e-mails to possibly anybody on your address books and even e-mails from
files you have stored on your computer.
My tips: Do not use Outlook Express or Outlook as a mail client. Many viruses
are written to exploit these programs. Seek other alternatives--always delete
e-mails that you are not sure about. And update your computer with Windows
Update (assuming you are using Windows for your Operating System).
I am catching up on old complaints while receiving new ones. E-mail me if you
want an update on a complaint that you sent. It helps if you
tell me the date you sent the complaint e-mail. If I do not respond to a
complaint mail within 24 hours, contact me again to make sure I
received it.
I'm considering adding something to my office page which talks in detail about
the Security Office and what you may have to do one day if you report or wish to
report an EH regulations violation. Those along with making a database for the
Office that will allow members who send
complaints to check on the status of complaints are my goals for this year.
Anybody (who is a current member) may send a complaint. Again, if you can use
the chain of command and you feel that the offense isn't that big. You probably
will think that it is a big thing because it happened to you, but take a moment
to think about the scope of what happened. I will read all complaints and decide
what to do next, if I feel that your superior officers should handle it, I will
reply back and tell you that. Otherwise I will either investigate the complaint
or inform you that the complaint should be forgotten about (that will be for
frivolous
complaints).
Note: If you were removed from the club due to HCI punishment or were expelled
by the Fleet Commander or Executive Officer, you cannot send a complaint. Only
current members may send complaints (this includes members in the Reserves--of
any group, TIE Corps or SubGroup).

The Fringe - EH Roleplaying Game (EH RPG)
A New Year
Population: 76 Members
========================================
Time marches forward in the Fringe. Multiple projects are being worked on across
the board. Below is a run down of the projects in progress:
Fringe Website: The Fringe website is in constant revision, adding features, and
fixing problems. It will definitely be something that I will be proud to pass on
to my successor one day.
Character Studio: The Character Studio is also a work in progress. It is the key
part of many future projects, including the Fringe's version of the Battle
Board, and the creation of an EH-wide RPG system.
Star Wars Galaxies EH Website: I've commissioned and received the design for the
website which will function as the focal point for the Emperor's Hamemr, SWG PA.
It will include many resources for our players.
Future Projects: This includes the Dueling Arena (Battle Board), and the EH-Wide
RPG System, which are actually closely linked. While not in an actual
development mode, mostly due to staffing problems, and preceding elements not
being finished. Expect to see more information on these soon.
As well there is some additional news:
The Fringe is still looking for a Director of the RPG Discipline. Any qualified
and eager individuals are urged to apply to Zem and Myself.
We are also looking for a Ring Leader to take control of the second ring, and be
very very active. This is essential to getting the chain of command for the
Fringe in place. Ring Leaders, are responsible for the creation of a webpage for
thier Ring, as well as gathering activity reports from the Ring members. They
are also responsible for recommending the medals for activity. If you think that
you can do this (should be easy) and can maintain the activity level, please
apply.
Due to some issues, Darknyte has had to step down from the Registrar position.
This position is in charge of approving medals and promotions. If you think you
are qualified, and active, please apply.
Also, if any PHP programmers out there wants to dedicate some time to the
Fringe, I could use some help with the website, and other assorted projects. Let
me know.
The Academy Website is currently in the works, this will appear as soon as I
finish it :P
The Sim Platform homepage is also currently in the works, and should be expected
soon.
The MUD homepage has moved and is available at:
http://www.fox-developments.co.uk/mud
The main emphasis of late in the Fringe, has been getting the
chain of command in place. Once this is done, things should run much more
smoothly all around the board.
Lastly, I am happy to announce that I have finished my GCIA Certification for
work, which now gives me a large portion of my free time back. Now if I can just
get switched to an 8-5 time slot, all will be well. Heh
That is all for now.

Another week has passed and actually some positive stuff has happened.
1st: the scoring system for the competition is almost done. Carl Lost and Mell
had some great ideas (percentage of pre-comp highscore)
and it looks like all flying-games will be able to participate. Including the IW
in that competition is not out of the question as well.
2nd: I just sent the channel registration of #eh_medlab to undernet and when I
finally stopped begging for supporters I had 10, who voted
with yes. the channel is now pending undernet's approval, but I don't think
anything will stand in the way of our new old home on IRC.
Thanks to all, who get this report and supported the registration!!!
3rd: I got a report!!! Thanks Doctor/Staff Medic Jedi Eclipse!!!!!! Work on his
ship is exemplary for a DOC: helping people with day-to-day problems, questions,
etc as well as with the more important ones. He even made an office-website:
http://intrepidmedbay.stardestroyer.org
If you want you name standing here: send me a report next week
and I will be a very happy MO... and that means I won't start experimenting
with the effects of drinking reactor coolant on humanoid organisms :)
on the down side: the A-PMO of the TC is on leave and the FMC-IW roster is still
in the dark, so no roster this time either. you can have a look at an outdated
one at:
http://www25.brinkster.com/muertevip/fmc/roster/rosterplain.htm
But it's...well... a little older....
