Set up a MS Zone Account
This is actually pretty straight forward (hurrah for wizards!!!). First of all get down to the Microsoft Gaming Zone at http://zone.msn.com.
You will be presented with a homepage with a few listing of games, and a menu on the left with categories of game genres. Go through the menu game genres to find the game you want to play. You'll eventually find the game platform you want.
In this case we'll find X-Wing Alliance. Ooh, there is is right there at http://zone.msn.com/xwingalliance/. A window will appear automatically stating that you have to download the MS Zone Software to carry on. Agree to everything to get it to download (it may take a while if you have a slow connection, but it's not too slow to worry).
In the wizard, you'll have to add your details before you continue. It's pretty basic, it's just to sort out your ID name and password, and they need your e-mail address to mail you that your account has been arranged. Just remember that all EH members must put "EH_" at the front of their ID names. For example, I would be "EH_Werdna_Elbee".
Set up a Battlestats.com Account
Go to http://www.battlestats.com. This is where you are going to set up an account so you can get your name on their databases, allowing you to take part in their competitions.
Look down the menu on the left-hand side. You'll soon approach an option allowing you to create a profile for yourself. Select it and you will be taken to a page that will allow you to add your details in. You'll need to put in your name, e-mail address and the club you are in. You don't need to put "EH_" before you name this time, as the option to choose the club you are in makes that redundant. Remember that the club is "EH", as there are no EH subgroups in Battlestats.
When you've done, you'll get an e-mail with your password (well, pass number). When you get it, jot down your details on paper as you'll need it at hand for logging into the battlestats.com website and for when you submit your game results.
