So last month we discussed style... I thought this week we could have a little discussion about materials. I'm sure that all of you fine upstanding Imperial citizens out there are well aware that some materials are better than others!

We at the Vogue are muchly liking silk, satin and velvet. We like them for everything, everywhere. In fact, should I so choose, I could dress myself entirely in velvet and not get cold. I have two velvet coats in my wardrobe, a velvet dress, and several velvet bodices (I have other velvet things too, but I don't think I'm allowed to mention those here!)

So what's so great about velvet? It's furry, it's smooth, and it feels good. People will come up to you and stroke your clothing (and automatically yourself!), and say how pretty it looks. It comes in all colours, shapes and sizes, and it comes in all clothing types. Nothing is quite like velvet, especially if you're going out on the pounce! (boyfriends LOVE velvet)

Silk is another of those things that is just great. It has a kind of clingy moleskin type effect, and makes brilliant shirts. Dress in silk and velvet, and all the girls will love you!

Satin tends to be used for shirts and underwear - and the odd robe. Satin is also great. It has this habit of swishing past your legs when you've just shaved them (especially if you're using the new Venus razor! - yes it is that good!). Satin is another of those extremely touchy-feely materials that just makes you want to touch, stroke and play with.

In summary, armed with satin, silk and velvet, you will be irresistible.
