Beth Squadron Weekly Report #2 - 05/05/2003
Welcome to my 2nd squadron report. This week was somewhat slow compared to last week, but things are going well. We have two comps currently going on, another starting this weekend, and I have a few ideas currently in the works. I still haven't heard from a few of you. It is vital that I hear something from you all very soon, otherwise I may have to declare you AWOL, and I hate doing that! But, enough with the negativity. On to the report!
Squadron News:
--I have added a new section to the website: The Hangar Bay. Here you can find detailed information concerning the fighters that make up Beth Squadron. I have several other additions in the works. Look for these soon! I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the website is a great place to bookmark because it will always have updated news and events for your easy reference. I highly recommend you all check the page periodically as it can be a big help in keeping up with squadron events.
--I am taking applications for the position of Flight 3 Leader. All applications should be sent to me at bigredf1418@attbi.com. I am looking for someone who is willing to put forth the effort to make the squadron better. Activity, initiative, and the desire to improve the squadron are the values I'm looking for. Include any special skills you have that you feel may work to the benefit of the squadron (HTML, graphics, etc). I look forward to receiving your applications.
Squadron Orders:
--Participate in week 4 of the Sovereign League! Fly TIE-Free 183, XvT-Free 135, and XWA-Free 98 and submit them to MAJ Cray Mikalen (bigredf1418@attbi.com) by Thursday, May 8th. This will allow me to compile the submissions and get them to the judges by Friday, May 9th. Good scores are needed for the squadron to do well, so I ask that you put in your best effort with these missions. I'm not asking everyone to gain high scores, and frankly I don't expect you to. Just sending in a submission will make me happy, but it would be great to see Beth pull out of her slump with several great submissions this round. Hopefully by combining our efforts we'll be able to devise a strategy that gives everyone a pretty nice score. So far only two people have flown for this competition! I know we can do MUCH better! I need everyone to complete at least one of these missions by Thursday. If you can't, email me explaining why it was not possible.
--The Beth Squadron Monthly Ace Competition for May has begun. You are to fly XWA-Free #4 by Friday, May 9th and send your plt file to MAJ Mikalen. The highest scoring pilot will receive an Iron Star - Bronze Wings, as well as the titles of Beth Squadron High Ace and Beth Spoon Warrior for the month of May. So far I have received no pilot files for this, so get in your submissions!
