Tek Selkirk’s First Day-

Lieutenant Tek Selkirk landed aboard the Victory Class II Star Destroyer at exactly 1000 hours. The navy was always punctual. Upon hearing the shuttle touch down and retract its boarding ramp, Tek gathered his things and proceeded out of the ship. This was the first time Tek had seen a real TIE Shadow, he had only seen datapad specs of them before. They were impressive looking, many painted with personal designs or stripes to signify each of the elite pilots own starfighters. Tek noticed one looked very plain and unpainted. A couple technicians were working on it at the moment.

Tek turned from the magnificent ships and saw a man enter the hanger. Tek noticed the Colonel badge and knew immediately that it was Colonel Dax Corrin, Avenger commander. Dax approached him and saluted. His salute was non-military; it had a slight ending swagger that made it look fluid and inviting. Tek saluted adding,

"Sir! Lieutenant Tek Selkirk reporting for duty Sir!"

"Hello son, at ease, first off, cut the military crap here okay?" said Dax with a slight tone of disgust. "You won’t need to do any of that here. I am Colonel Dax Corrin, Commander of Avenger Squadron, but I assume you know that already. How was your trip?"

"Good. Took a while to get here from the Immortal though. I’m ready for orders, Sir."

"Okay then, first off find your quarters and drop off your things, and meet me back here."

Tek walked down the hallway of the Aggressor, taking it all in. He was in an elite squadron now, no more crap, it was serious now. He was eager to learn what Avenger was all about and the type of missions they were involved in. Finding his quarters, neat and tidy, he left his gear there and went back towards the hanger.

Arriving back in the hanger, he met the other Avengers. They all seemed very nice; a couple were reserved, perhaps holding back dislike of an inexperienced Lieutenant joining the squadron. He would show them, somehow, that he was worthy. Dax spoke up,

"Avengers, this is Tek Selkirk, and I want you all to treat him like one of the family. Tek, you will have time to talk with them separately later if you wish, but first we must perform a small "hazing" that has become a ritual in Avenger Squadron. Let’s take him there boys. Tek was led down a dark hallway and into the simulator rooms. Dax asked what craft Tek would like to try, and he selected TIE Interceptor.

Tek had flown simulations before, but never versus elite pilots. He managed to hold his own, finishing somewhere in the middle of the pack in each skirmish. Then Dax switched the craft to TIE Shadow, and every Avenger outscored him by at least ten. It was a humbling experience. The way the Avengers flew their Shadows was amazing, a blur of speed, deadly lasers and resourceful tactics.

Tek exited the simulator and was approached by Dax,

"Not bad Tek, not bad at all. Practice makes perfect."

"I’ll remember that." Tek began to walk away when Dax added,

"And Tek, I expect to see your Shadow painted by the day after tomorrow. I think you’ll fit in here just fine."

Welcome LT Tek Selkirk to Avenger Squadron! He makes a fine addition to the squad, and had a nice XvT WoW, leading the EH with 30 wins! Girth Snail came in second with 26 wins.

LT Selkirk and Dax had the first MP Melee in Tie Shadows in Wednesday night's comp, with Tek finishing with a 4 kill victory over your earstwhile commander. Anyone interested in MP melees in T/S, let me know, and I'll email you the package containing everything you need to MP melee in our very own craft! Thanks to LT Selkirk for putting this package together.

ASF Pilots had 63 of the 74 wins in the XvT WoW, and Avenger Squadron pilots accounted for 60 of those wins. Well done, pilots. We also placed 2nd overall in club scoring, Selkirk placed 2nd overall, and Girthy placed 15th. Excellent job!

CMDR's Thoughts

Pilot of the Week AZ! Az led Avenger Squadron with 9 wins in the XWA WoW, plus another 1 for XWA Sov ace comp. Nice work!

Citations: I don't care about citations anymore, with the arrival of LT Selkirk, we have lost a significant amount of cits. We set a record, and that's all that matters. Now, I expect all to concentrate on MP, and continue to dominate as we are!

All in all, another damn fine week to be Avenger Commander. You guys make this job worthwhile! Although, it is getting tougher to pick the pilot of the week! :P I will be at my mother-in-law's house this weekend attending a hot air baloon festival, so don't expect to see me. And for those who haven't heard, the results of the ultrasound have been revealed, and the new baby is gonna be a boy! 1 of each, now off to the vetrinarian to get clipped. >:P 2 is enough!

Everyone have a good weekend, and we'll speak again on Monday!

Respectfully submitted;
