It seems the Senate had a nice vacation this week. Oh, wait, I didn't issue any vacations. You're all fired.
The above is a test of the emergency "get your ass in motion" broadcast system. In the future if you see this message, consider yourself dead. Don't think I can't write a little article detailing your fictional assasination, because I will. I did it with Marr, and I can do it with you.
Now, on to other things. I think Plague is back for the most part, so I hope to get some things done with the Senatorial Address and Imperial University. Chen, however, has gone missing as he typically does when he's direly needed. I quote Chen: "This week, I'll be rewriting the database from scratch. If I'm not done by next Saturday, you should all smack me in very painful and creative ways. That's it for now, have fun!" Oh, my, I suppose we could do that. It's been, oh what, 3 weeks since you made that report?
The Senate is no longer a sanctum for languishing in your RL problems, dawdling in your laziness, or whining about your widdlewoddles. I quote Dr. Suess: "If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good." Indeed. Fun is good. Let's make the Senate fun, shall we?
Enough suessaying, though. I simply mean to say this: I like fun. Idleness impedes fun. If you idle, you impede fun. Sorry to put it in such rudimentary terms, but some of us in the Senate don't quite understand this notion of "doing nothing warrants your removal". We appear to be going through a similar phase of laxation the TC did when their database went down. Granted, we're in the middle of a structural change, but this can't be accomplished without our new database, nor is it an excuse for you to be slacking off in your positions. I expect weekly reports, not biweekly ones; for party leaders, I expect party-level competitions (even if it's boring trivia), recruitment efforts, and visible contact with current party members.
On to other business. The Senatorial Address format will be delayed for a couple of days. For now, look at the picture I made. Also expect a new awards guide to be released this week.

After one month's passing, the format will revert back to the way it was. This competition is open to anyone, including High Council members and reservists. Another requirement is that they have to join a party, so no joining and going to the reserves.
