Copperhead Squadron
Report #11
1.17.2003 - MAJ Archon

Okay, this is the point when I'm going to have to start being mean to you guys. We are really feeling pressure from all sides to step up activity, especially since the competition is over in two weeks. So facilitate this, here's what I want you guys to do.

I want a personal report from each of you on what you plan on doing the next two weeks to boost up the squadron. How often are you going to fly battles? When can you make it to MP competitions? Don't forget you can go to the webpage and fill out the webhunt for 4 points, submit 10 Star Wars trivia questions for 5 points, or do an IWATS course for 4 points. Go to the webpage here http://www.minos.net/~autoris/rules.html and see what is available to you. The Grey Wolf is 200 points ahead of us!

CITATIONS ARE VITAL. Please try and do the battles that LCM Sabbath recommends. The squadron and gets 15 points for each citation, and we've got a dozen battles where we only need one more pilot to fly.

My plan of action for the next two weeks is to win at least 10 LoCs and 2 DFCs each week, bringing in 50 points just in MP. This week I also will fly TC-XvT 26, which Sabbath assigned me, and will finish all the IW-XWA battles. After that, I will do any battle Sabbath assigns as well as continuing down the line of TC-XvT battles. I should fly at least 5 battles a week for the next two weeks, putting us in position for easy citations. This will make up for my admitted slow start to the competition.

That's all I want from you guys, just a little outline of what you pledge to do by the end. It really reassures me, the WC, and the COM when we know you're at least working on something, but be warned, if we don't see results, the COM has personally threatened to remove pilots who do not participate. I hate to be so down on you guys because you're all being active, but this competition means a LOT, and it doesn't come often. Copperhead has been taking a ton of grief from higher ups and from the rest of the wing for not pulling its weight, it's time to change that, NOW.

Whew, now that my schpiel is done, off to the report

SQUADRON NEWS: Not a whole lot this week
-The squadron patch is bogged down in OPS office policies, I'm trying to push it through as fast as I can. I'll let you all know when you can put it on your uniform.
-FLY!

WING/FLEET NEWS:
-The COO has taken an emergency leave, so all LoCs and DFCs are put on hold until Jan. 20.
-The ISD Relentless needs a new COM! Hopefully the new guy can rejuvinate that oft-cursed vessel.
-DO NOT SKIP MISSIONS when flying battles! TAC/AD Mike has announced that he will strike battles from your profile that have skipped missions in them. You won't go to the HCI, but you'll waste a lot of time and give me a lot of grief when I see SC points dropping from our score =P I know none of you do this, but just in case you were thinking about it...
-GRAPHICS COMPETITION - The TIE Corps needs a new link banner! I know a couple of you have graphics skills, coughJedicoughGauntcough. If you want to participate, have your submissions into the FO at spellfire@btinternet.com with the email subject "TC Banner" by January 26th. The winner gets an Iron Star Gold Ribbon, plus other awards going to runner-ups. You've got a good chance at winning something, so go for it =)

ACTIVITY REPORTS: I'll be commenting here, so read your comment! It might make it easier to write your little status update

MAJ Archon:
-[XWA] Frozen Doom - 3 victories (Awaiting a DFC)
-[XWA] Night of the Lost Souls - 1 victory
-[XWA] Sovereign Nighthawk Comp - 1 victory
-Hosted Frozen Doom
-Hosted Battlegroups Training Night and participated (Awaiting 3 LoCs and a DFC)
-Hosted part of Thursday Night Training
-Flew IW-XWA 24
-Flew IW-XWA 25

Comment: Too much hosting and not enough flying. I'll try to remember that Wing XIV comes before the Combat Operations Office. Lots of points awaiting COO processing though.

LCM Viet:
-In contact

Comment: You're in definite risk of being AWOLed by the COM at the end of the month, Viet, I need to see some activity from you these next two weeks. A TON of citations are riding on your shoulders...even if you only fly the battles Sabbath assigns you, it would help immensely. Command WILL remove you if you don't have any SC points by the end of the competition. If you do not want to fly, then you should do some non-flying activity like IWATS, the webhunt, or trivia questions. Let me know what you plan to do to help, please.

LCM Sabbath:
-Flew DB-XvT 3
-Flew DB-XvT 5
-Flew TC-XvT 14
-Flew TC-XvT 16
-Flew TC-XvT 11
-Flew TC-XvT 12
-Flew TC-XvT 13
-Flew TC-XvT 10
-Flew TC-XvT 21
-Flew TC-XWA 16
-Flew TC-XvT 20
-Flew TC-XvT 23
-Flew TC-XvT 24
-Flew TC-XvT 29
-Flew DB-XvT 6
-Flew DB-XvT 7
-Doing a fine job as Citation Officer, everyone is assigned their battle(s).

Comment: This is way above and beyond the call, Sabbath, fantastic work! Sixteen battles! Your report can be "Do half what I did last week" and I'll be happy =D

LCM Arid Foxtrot:
-No contact

Comment: You were doing so well! You are assigned TC-XvT 22 for a citation, we'll get it if you fly that battle. We can't pull this through without you, please let me know how you can help!

LT Spade:
-Got TC-TIE 3 working and flown
-Flew TC-TIE 4
-Flew TC-TIE 2 (assigned for citation)

Comment: This is a great start, but the next two weeks are going to need some really high activity levels. If you can push this up to 4 battles a week, it would help us a ton.

CPT Jedi Eclipse:
-Participated in Battlegroups Training Night
-Revised the squadron patch as per OPS orders

Comment: XWA battles are the key for you, we really need you to get a bunch of those flown. If you fly TC-XWA 1 through TC-XWA 8, we pick up six citations, and only need one more pilot for XWA 4. Yes, thats over 100 points in just those six battles. This is greater priority than websites or graphics, and its only six battles.

LCM Ibram Gaunt:
-Flew TC-XvT 37 (assigned for citation)
-Started squadron banner graphic
-Tried to participate in Frozen Doom: bad connection issues

Comment: You're the other TC-XWA culprit. This week, try to fill in the holes in your sequence of TC-XWA battles, fly as many of them as you can. If you and Jedi can fly a bunch of those, we'll rake in citations hand over fist. Once again, this is more important than graphics and such right now, so you'll have to break out the joystick again.

COMMANDER'S NOTES: Okay, a little less cheery this week, but we're still doing okay. Again, citations are the absolute key, so PLEASE do the battles LCM Sabbath recommends. For those of you that got general "Fly this type of battle" instructions, still listen to Sabbath for specific assignments, since he's keeping the citation board up to date and tallied. Don't forget to send me your progress reports! If we don't pick up by the end of the competition, I'm gonna lose my job...or my head! =P
