Bounty Hunter's Guild
Report #82
8.9.2002 - Trench
Sirs,
I lead off with an e-mail from JUD Ehart to the Commission, the Chiefs and their CRAs:
We are switching our policies on trainees. This will actually lift the
workload for you guys too.
DO any of you guys remember the old NTC back when we were The Guild,
not the
BHG. All new members were posted in a wing at the collage to learn
about
the BHG and become a hunter before being stationed in a Kabal. Well we
are
going back to that set up. As of today's meeting there will be a new
Citadel section added to the roster with an Up Wing and Down Wing. All
new
members will be stationed there. They will need to take the Core exam
and
buy a ship then request to transfer to a Kabal. We have appointed 2
new
positions of Wardens who will take care of them there. They will be
reporting to the X and have duties very similar to yours.
As for the Trainees you have in your Kabals, they will stay for now.
Each -T you have has exactly one month to become a hunter in your
Kabal
from today. No more new recruits will be sent to you either. Any -T's
you
have left in one months time will be transferred back to the Citadel
for a
grilling by the Wardens and then AWOLed if they do nothing there.
The BHG manual has all been updated to show the new Citadel so you can
all
take a look there now for the finer details. Also this gives you the
opportunity to start not only recruiting from outside for members to
join
the Citadel but also to then recruit the -T's to join your Kabal once
they
become a -H. All Kabals will be kept even on the total membership in
them
so there is no need to worry about all new members wanting to join the
same
Kabal. The only difference is that a member now has time to pick his
Kabal
on the facts he can see around him. Instead of a random Choice when he
fills
in the join form.
Any comments just let me know.
Cardinal Ehart Dak`wind
This change is an important one for us and restores a system that we think will work well again now, even though it stopped doing so for us at an earlier point in our history. These things work in ebbs and flows and we are determined to change with the times as we need to.
And now the meeting announcements:
Jers news
1. Two new ships by Talon Karrde and R2b0t have been added to the SSL
ship
catalogue. They're both interesting ships, particularly the Thief recon
fighter, which is quite a different ship for the SSL.
2. Just my usual weekly reminder that OMs are still available for you
all to
do until Friday. Have fun.
3. Still on OMs, if the submissions continue to flood in at the current
rate,
we may switch to a weekly OM schedule instead of fortnightly as from
next
week. Next week will probably be an experimental set to do just that,
so
keep
those OMs coming in.
4. At some point in the next couple of weeks, it's likely that I'll be
spending a full week criss-crossing Perth doing a survey to update our
street
directory at work. That week is likely to be an almost complete washout
in
terms of BHG activity, but hopefully won't be until after the next OM
set is
released. I'll let everyone know when it happens.
5. Another reminder: the CoCs are in effect on the MB, and they are
monitored
by people higher in the EH than me. Just be careful with what you guys
say,
please.
6. In response to one or two questions, I'd just like to clarify that
IRC
stats are still being done once a month. Not once a week, not once a
fortnight, but once a month.
7. That is all.

Eharts news
1) As always my KA hunts will be graded tomorrow. I'll post 2 new ones
today and 2 tomorrow for you all
2) I'm looking for crosswords that can be used in the new hunt type set
up.
Just make them and send them over. I'm also looking for some more URL
hunt
targets. Normally I do not pay for WH pics as I have 99% of them from
before EP2, but for the next week, I'll pay 15K per pic of characters
seen
in EP2 only.
3) As you all know the next BIG event will be a KAG. Still no dates are
set.
The rules which will be in effect for that season can be seen at
http://www.btinternet.com/~ehart/KAGlayout5-00.doc
4) Those rules are not yet in the main BHG site but will be updated
there
soon too. Once those rue alterations have been made on the KAG admin
scripts then a date will be set for season 17.
5) And finally today I am pleased to announce the addition to a new
medal in
the BHG. The medal is called the Key of Lyarna (KL). The new medal
will be
awarded to the members of the BHG who are ranked BRN + and have taken
the
time to have their home estate submitted to http://lyarna.thebhg.org/
If you
are ranked BRN + and want one of these medals then just send your
estate to
me and as long as it's of good enough quality it will be posted :)
6) Happy Hunting E :)

Orins news
1)- As of the beginning of meeting time, all the Arena matches have
been
graded/set up (unless a participant already had two going). Also, all
Charsheets have been updated/approved/deleted (as necessary); and all
BoA
exams have been graded.
2)- Beginning Sunday afternoon/early evening at some point, I will be
gone
from all technology more advanced than the gasoline engine until
sometime
around August 25th, as I visit my family in El Salvador. When I get
back,
I'll be living off-campus, so no more free 24/7 Internet. Therefore, I
don't know how often I'll be online.
3)- Rewards for the Tempestuous RO are posted on the Tempty board.
4)- Due to the circumstances noted in #2, and for some other reasons, I
am
stepping down as Adjunct effective August 12th. It's been fun, but
y'all
deserve a better AJ than I am:). Please be patient while a new Adjunct
is
chosen and gets accustomed, and I'll do my best to get the records and
other necessary AJ stuff to him/her ASAP.
5)- Shmer. It's time for me to sit in my rocker again.
---
Zedders news.
1) KA Hunts will be done Sunday, I'm not working at
all, so there's an excellent chance I won't be busy.
2) Tuesday, Aug 13th, I'm going to Montreal for the
day, so no midweek HTHs until Wednesday.
As you can see, real life concerns are forcing Orin to step down from the Adjunct position. We wish him well, and look forward to announcing a new Adjunct at next week's meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Dark Prince Trench
