SSSD SOVEREIGN NEWS, 7-29-02

Snippy and Leroy exchanged anxious glances. They stared at Dude, who hefted a five-gallon bucket of icewater. Dude grunted in inquiry to his two fellow assistants, who nervously motioned at the snoozing commodore, sprawled in his command chair, snoring at high decibels.
"Nooga booga!" Leroy chittered.
Dude grunted again and clumsily upended the bucket, blasting its contents right into the COM's face.
"AAAAAAAAH!!" Proton sputtered, clutching his heart and glaring murder at Team LSD.

CANTINA COMMENTS
"Yeah, you now have one of the goofiest names in the TC ;)" -VA Proton
"And proud to rate it!" -GN Gen
"For things which need uniformity, I agree. MSEs are one of those
things. They NEED to be uniform for ease of understanding on the WCs
part. However, I disagree with the squadron report aspect. I think
every pilot needs to build on his own experience from past CMDRs and
create his own style of squadron report. When I was Rho CMDR, I think
I had a pretty unique style of approaching things (right, Proton?).
I'm not saying you have to be unique, I'm just saying don't accept
everything that's given to you like automotons.
Where squadron reports are concerned, I'd rather see some more
flexibility, some more leeway for the CMDRs because it is their show,
and their example can spur on a new generation of pilots. By making
it all machine-cut-and-dried, you can lose some of the fun in the TC.
That's been my opinion for about 3 to 4 years now. I see IWATS as a
baseline for doing things. Then it's up to each CMDR to build upon
this baseline until he or she is happy with what they have, and then
they should stick with that.

"My $0.02 (Dow Jones: $0.0211. No, wait... $0.210. No, wait, $0.209..
No, wait...)" -LC Freelancer
"But don't think that means you can slack off.
For a change of pace I will be leaving MAJ Strathaven in charge of this
circus. As A-WC she will have the authority to "vape" anyone who's out of
line, so no goofing off :) " -GN Jahan Kalar
"Smell spiked milk a mile away. Yes. We know."
*Free walks into the next room, with EH scientists and lots of
distilleries and test tubes*
The lead scientist comes up, "Sir, we're ALMOST to the point where we
can make it smell like milk!"
"Good work! Keep it up!"
*Free continues on, smiling broadly*" -LC Freelancer
"Saw this on someone's post on the TC board.

I am:
Death Star
MWUAHAHA! You're the very epitome of Imperial might. Planets tremble at the mention of your name. Technically you aren't a "character," but it doesn't matter. You can disintegrate anyone who crosses you."
"OH yeah. You'll notice that they mention nothing about an open exhaust port." -GN Compton
P.S. But seriously, good to hear people are still coming to this wing. You
think they'd quarantined us by now." -MAJ Mike
"*As I walk through the Valley of the shadow of Death I take a look at my
life and realise there's Commanding left. Cause I've been commanding and
laughing so long that even my momma thinks that my space ship is gone. but I
never crossed a rebel that didn't deserve it, he'd be treated to my lasers
you know it's hearda. they better watch where their walking and how they are
talkin or all of dem rebels will be space dust. I really hate the rebel and
it's gota blow. as he croaks I see myself in the blaster smoke fool, I'm the
kinda guy any little imperial wants to be like, in my ship at night saying
prayers for my imperial life." -MAJ Jon Doyle
"I am the KING of no pants!!" MAJ Nebular
"That'd make a good sequal to the Lord of the Dance." -MAJ Mike
OFF-TOPIC DEPARTMENT
SANDY, Utah -- A pet python got a little bit too close for comfort when it decided to put the squeeze on its owners.
Police were called to the Jefferson Cove Condominiums Friday night after a woman and her daughter, 16, were apparently wrapped in the 6-foot python's coils.
The two were letting the African rock python slither around the house when it coiled itself around the daughter's head and began to squeeze, said Sandy police Sgt. Michelle Burnette.
When the mother tried to pull the snake off, the animal clamped onto the daughter's finger with its mouth, Burnette said.
The python then managed to wrap around the mother's arm so that both the mother and daughter were trapped.
When police arrived, they were forced to kick down the door because neither woman could break free, Burnette said.
Officers used scissors to pry open the serpent's mouth and free the girl. The python was then taken to the city animal shelter. Its fate is uncertain.
