Vav Squadron Report #3

Introduction

This report is a little early this week because I'm going to be on leave between 6th-10th July (more on that later). While I'm away I'm sure you'll have plenty of stuff to be getting on with. The WoS competition is still on (aim for the high score!) and the Vav vs Demon competition has been extended to the 14th so get your entries in for that.

Squadron News

CMDR on leave
I will be away between 6th and 10th July and won't be able to look at my emails at all. However, I still want you to send your competition pilot files to me as I'll be back in time to process them. I'm leaving the squadron in the capable hands of CPT Cal Sinis so if you need him for anything you are free to bug him endlessly until he replies!

Vav vs. Demon Competition
You must fly XWA-FREE #63 and there will be a IS-BW for the highest scoring pilot. The deadline has been moved back to the 14th July. The competition outcome will be determined by average scores for each squadron, so good participation is needed. Send your pilot files to werdna_elbee@hotmail.com.

Leave Status
Seth and Lavos still can't fly XWA right now. Werdna is on leave 6th-10th July. Cal is on leave 12th-14th July

War of Squadrons:

WoS Round 4
Sadly we we beaten by Daleth Squadron in this round. Admittedly I wasn't over the moon with the mission we had to do, but I was glad to see we had 100% participation.

WoS Round 5
We have to fly XWA-FREE #40 before next Monday (8th July). Send your pilot files to jahankalar@wing3.net and cc: me.

Pilot file names (from the WC)
After puzzling over a number of BSF names that didn't make it clear what battle was being flown, I have decided that to make life easier for myself and the squadron commanders, as well as to assure your BSFs are processed quickly and correctly, I would like all of you to follow this naming convention.

Name-PIN-Mission Name

So, if I flew XWA free mission 45, my file would be named: Jahan_Kalar-1914-XWA-Free-#45.plt. I would name the zip file the same thing with .zip at the end of course.

This isn't that hard to do and it helps us save time by not having to go back and find the email we downloaded the BSF from if we don't rename the file. It also helps make sure we are BSFing the correct battle, and that you get the score you earned. Just take a few seconds and do this before you send out your pilot files, it will help a lot in the long run.
