Introduction

This week we say goodbye to 2 of our pilots...CPT Mayk Wolverine and LC Sequoh Marden. I wish them all the best in their new posts in the fleet.

We have a busy week ahead of us with Vav in 2 competitions right now. Read below about how to take part in them.  

Squadron News

Mayk promoted to Nun CMDR
Congratulations to our former Flight II Ledaer on his promotion to CMDR of Nun Squadron. I hope he does a good job and enjoys himself.

Sequoh leaves for Wing IV
LC Sequoh Marden has left Vav Squadron to fly with some old friends at Wing IV. Have fun there, Seq!

Vav vs. Demon Competition
You must fly XWA-FREE #63 and there will be a IS-BW for the highest scoring pilot. The deadline has been moved back to the 11th July. The competition outcome will be determined by average scores for each squadron, so good participation is needed. Send your pilot files to werdna_elbee@hotmail.com. 

Leave Status
Seth and Lavos still can't fly XWA right now. Var hasn't notified me of his return from leave yet.

War of Squadrons

Round 3: We were sadly beaten by Beth Squadron in this round. However, we fought hard and actually had the second highest score in the wing (sadly after Beth).

You must fly XWA-FREE #61 before Monday 1st July. Send pilot files to jahankalar@hotmail.com and cc: werdna_elbee@hotmail.com. I've not got any pilot files yet so get a move on!!! 

Pilot file names (from the WC)
After puzzling over a number of BSF names that didn't make it clear what battle was being flown, I have decided that to make life easier for myself and the squadron commanders, as well as to assure your BSFs are processed quickly and correctly, I would like all of you to follow this naming convention.

Name-PIN-Mission Name

So, if I flew XWA free mission 45, my file would be named: Jahan_Kalar-1914-XWA-Free-#45.plt. I would name the zip file the same thing with .zip at the end of course.

This isn't that hard to do and it helps us save time by not having to go back and find the email we downloaded the BSF from if we don't rename the file. It also helps make sure we are BSFing the correct battle, and that you get the score you earned. Just take a few seconds and do this before you send out your pilot files, it will help a lot in the long run.

Congrats to newly promoted Vice Admiral Azazel Do'jarr! He has definately earned this promotion through his hard work in all of his duties.

EHHA for TIE Corps sites

The EH Holonet Awards are a sort of webdesign "Oscars" and the TIE Corps as a whole did quite well out of it. Below is a summary of how we did:

• Best Overall site - 1st place to the TIE Corps site
• Best TIE Corps site - 1st went to the Tau squadron site, 2nd to the ISD Intrepid site and 3rd to Flight II of Ranger squadron's site
• Best Office site - 2nd went to the Training Office (yah me :P) and 3rd to the COO site
• Best Animation (Flash) - 1st was taken by the Prelude to Andevia trailer, 2nd by the Mem Squadron intro
• Best Still Scene Graphic - equal 2nd were LT Titus' EH banner and VSDs in low orbit
• Best use of ASP - 2nd place went to the TO site
• Best Content - Copperhead Flight 3 took 1st place for this

• Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also #wing_iii to drop into. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
• Post on the Message Boards more often. Pay particular attention to the Wing III and Vav MBs! There are loads of the things at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/ and http://www.ehnet.org/mb/
• We also have a few mailing lists to post one. Get talking on wing3@yahoogroups.com and vavsquadron@yahoogroups.com 
• Recruit!!!
