Wing IV
Report #53
6.11.2002 - GN Reaper

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, you've had a whole year to recover from the last one, so sit down, and get ready to enjoy another Wing Report written by me, your loveable Wing Ego-Maniac! >:P And in keeping with tradition, I will do a report completely unlike those done by our esteemed Wing Commander, so, if you missed the last one, be ready to frame this one, Kiddies! >:P

1. Random Roster Changes, Promotions & Medals!

Uhm. Well, not a lot, really. >:P No one has informed me of any medals being awarded or anything like that, but from casual reading of the other Squadron Reports, it looks like Philo has picked up some shiny trinket for uh... doing something, so, yay Philo! >:P (That's an MoT-RH for the nit-picky. >:P) Wing Numbers are down by two, with LC Styles transferring from Cheth to Praetorian. Good luck to him. He'll need it. >:P (Boo, Prae! >:P) And someone disappearing from Lamed. I believe it's COL Torres. >:P

2. Sov hands out yet another tonking!

Indeed, the Imperial Storm battle between the Sov and the ATF was flown over the weekend, and we won, yet again, because, well, we rock. >:P Our very own COL Ricardo flew in the TIE section, and I would've had I not been drunk from celebrating the marvellous England win over Argentina (Yay Us! BTW. >:P) The official announcement from VA Proton follows...

The SSSD Sovereign task force today attacked a planet held by the Avenger Task Force. Forces of the flagship destroyed the SSD Avenger, a frigate, two corvettes and six-plus starfighter squadrons.

The Sovereign has conquered the planet and continues to lead the Imperial Storm III operation.

Our losses were severe, however, as the Avenger was not an easy kill. We lost two full wings of advanced starfighters. Overall, we are down to about 2/3 strength after this titanic battle. The Avenger task force has been cut down to about half strength.

-- The battle toll, as reported by WO/VA Pel:
Sov loses: 6 T/D squadrons, 6 T/A squadrons, 2 Gunboat Squadrons
ATF Loses: 2 T/A Squadrons, 2 GUN Squadrons, 2 MIS Squadrons, 2 T/Is, 2 CRVs, 1 FRG, 1 SSD
For the TIE part, Sov team won, and saved 489 points. High scorer was Inky, ATF High scorer was Athen.

Great job by all pilots and tacticians of the Sovereign!

GO, SOV!

Indeed. Go Sov! With the ATF being reduced to half strength, the ASF seemingly missing the point of the whole game by sitting in the corner doing nowt, and the BGs withdrawing because they're whiney little buggers, it looks like this could be the year the Sov finally wins. Yay us! >:P Keep your ears peeled for further anouncements, and more chances to blow things up! >:P

3. Competitions!

Uhm. We've got lots? >:P We have an upcoming competition with Wing X after such comments like... "Wing IV? that's not a Wing, that's a joke. :P" whereby I, along with Reaper, expect us all to smack them silly, to show much of a joke we really are. >:P Also, apparantly, we have a comp with the Intrepid coming up. Uhm. Quite. If anyone would like to inform me, or preferabley Reaper what and/or the hell that's all about, we'd be very grateful. >:P That's a lesson for all you kiddies, if you're going to go around offering challenges like free alcohol, make sure the WC knows about it. It makes him less grumpy. And he is old, after all, poor thing. >:P

And there's more! Yod and Kaph have faced off in a competition recently... and... uhh... we have no idea who won, since, er the results haven't been published. >:P Anyho, Teth, Yod and Lamed have all entered themselves into the Colossus Squadron League, which looks to be shaping up to be quite a good competition. Naturally, I shall be updating you on our marvellous march to glory... *Minkus realises this is the Wing Report, and not the weekly Teth ego Boost* ... and quite obviously, we shall be seeing either Yod or Lamed in The Final. *Ahem* Moving swiftly on... >:P

There is also the Omega Open Competition going on. With the chance to win a Kenner R5-D4 toy, this is something everyone should have a crack it. >:P If you're interested, you should be flying TIE-FCHG #2 and sending it to GN Devin (devin@omegasquadron.org) by June 21st. So there's plenty for y'all to be doing. >:P

4. Fleet News

I have just one thing to say here. http://www.emperorshammer.net/news.asp It's really not rocket science to point your browser here, people. >:P You should need to go through this page at some point, anyway. >:P If you can't be bothered to do it, well, then, you'll have to live in ignorance. Like Riccymon. >:P
