Well lots of stuff has been going recently. We've managed to bag ourselves a work load from hell especially with the SC IV competition going on. Meaning we came out of the gates hard and charging, and we did quite well. After the first 5 days we‘re behind though, almost 1000 points behind the Mutt. However our FCHG/CR bonuses haven‘t been counted but I don‘t think we‘ve done enough to make up the gap, which means you better work twice as hard to close the gap this week. In my first full week as WC you’ve all done A LOT and you’ve kept me quite busy… especially Frey and he’s 25 Free Missions in my box this afternoon :P However, as AD Cyric has taken it upon himself to see us motivated and to do more in these two months then ever before, we should accommodate him by laying waste to the Mutt and AES (avenger “Elite” squadron). It would be nice for the VAN to not come in dead last this SC and as WC I hope to see us give up one hell of a fight and to keep it going as strong and as long as possible.
There have been many pilots who have distinguished themselves this week so far and I’d like to say thanks to all who have flown and participated in the competition, we have had a lot of MP and SP performances, but I also would like to remind you it’s 5 points per mission roughly 10 minutes for SP and for the same time in MP you can get 35 points for a win and 5 for a loss, so I’d rather see more MP action going on out there. If you don’t know when a competition is, see EH.org the combat calendar is on there. Also there have been several command changes this week so I’d like to congratulate CM Drax Remlinger and CPT Blair Vallyn for becoming CMDR’s of Hornet and Wasp respectively.
Some of you may have noticed I changed the wing’s motto and nickname and also uploaded a new wing roster banner. The wing motto is “First into Battle, First to Victory!” and the nickname is “Leader of the Pack.” I’d like to see these come true these two months. J
Well that’s just the comments from me for now, keep reading important information still ahead.
Vanguard Standing Orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.
Standing Order #2: SC IV flying
As I would think you may know we’re in a fight for our reputation right now. Everything you do for the fleet in the months of April and May count so get active and have some fun doing it.
OKAY, next. I discussed with my CMDRs about what types of competitions we’d like to see come out for the wing to induce activity. We think that fiction and gfx are the best ones as they don’t’ take the time of a mission or battle to fly and everyone can write, even if they don’t believe so.
So I am now implementing something, I’d like to see a wing history and squadron histories for every squadron onboard. Histories can be fictional or what not and should include all members of the squad in the history as well as the cmdr.
Shopping List
Fly all the battles you can… and not free missions, cause I hate BSF’ing those things one at a time. :P
Top Squadron of the Week
Undecided, you all did quite well.
Top Squadron of the Month for March
As announced previously the WC’s Own for the month of March was Python, congratulations to the pilots and it’s rookie cmdr, CM Glorick. I’d like to see every squadron take one of these during my tenure as WC to show an all around wing.
Top Pilot of the Week
LT Narnil has again astounded me with his flying. He certainly earned his Bronze Star in his first 31 active days in the fleet, his first month got him a BS I can see him going places.

The Wing is still pumping out a decent performing this month! Even though the ECR is on the brink of finishing they are still holding tuff. Lots of different things are going on, and quite a few major Wing comps. As long as everyone does their part we'll have a good fight. You guys are great lets keep it up. For the Empires sake don't ever give up, always keep fighting.
Also I noticed that some of you have considered doing or have put together your squadron reports in a HTML form like I did. This is a good thing which can be viewed by all members of the ship. I would suggest to all of you who do reports to do the same. As it makes for an easy template for follow up reports later down the road. the only thing is if you do so, make sure you remember to attach your HTML file to the mail when you send out your report mail. Otherwise I'm gonna get ya! Cuz I need to see it to read it :P as well as the rest of us. If you don't know how to do HTML or any other form of web programming, then go to the Imperial Academy website and take a course. There they have enough information to make you all dangerous. Good luck!
It goes with out saying, that if I missed something let me know. Theres alot of stuff going on so its quite possible I have forgotten. So don't be shy just tell me its okay really! Thats all for this week, Until next week, stay safe, be aware, and by all means WHAT YOUR SIX!
FLEET NEWS
As taken from www.emperorshammer.org/news.asp
Relevant News in Detail
15:46 - FA Ari [ari@tiecorps.org]
I have written up a list of Internet Guidelines for the entire fleet. You can always check them out at http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php. Sites MUST follow the rules laid out in the guidelines, and we at the Internet Office highly recommend considering the suggestions.
Rules:
Sites MUST have links to the EH Disclaimers (http://www.emperorshammer.org/disclaim.htm) and EH Privacy Policy (http://www.emperorshammer.org/privacy.htm) pages displayed on the main page of their site or on the navbar.
Sites may NOT use tsx.org as a redirection service.
Obviously, all sites must abide by Bylaws and AoWs.
Sites who do not obey these rules will not be linked to by any major EH site. Webmasters who do not comply after being asked to may be subject to Security Officer action.
The Internet Officer reserves the right to add rules to these at any time.
Strong Suggestions:
Sites with excessively long URLs should consider domain redirection provided by http://www.stardestroyer.org.
All sites should be compatible with the latest version of major browsers (IE 6 and Netscape 6).
Sites should preferably be optimized for 800x600 resolution, but if it is necessary, 1024x768 is also acceptable.
A good idea is to run your site through the W3C HTML Validator (http://validator.w3.org/) and CSS Validator (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/).
Do not have unnecessary large images, popups, or Java applets on your page. They slow down loading time tremendously.
A warning about using MS Word and older versions of Frontpage to create websites: they add in large amounts of unnecessary tags, which slow down loading times.
These aren't too much to ask for I hope, but all EH sites MUST follow these rules.
EH Day at Kennywood Park
15:40 - CPT PhoenixMan [GMFPhoenix@aol.com]
Plans are in the works for an EH Day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It will be held at the world-famous Kennywood Park. The park contains the famed ThunderBolt and Steel Phantom (remodelled and called Phantom's Revenge), which the Discovery Channel rated as the #1 and #5 best coasters in the entire world!
The likely date will be in July/August. Please contact gmfphoenix@aol.com and BradTack@isdcolossus.com if you'd be able to attend so it can be scheduled when it's most accomodating. We hope to see many EH members there!
More Battlestats Notes
07:41 - COL Brucmack [bjmacken@engmail.uwaterloo.ca]
This (sort of) goes along with my last note about our club's Battlestats roster...
BSC has a system that runs once per day and removes all members inactive for 100 days or more from their club rosters. The profiles remain, but they are removed from the club roster. So if you want to avoid this, do some activity on BSC before that happens, or resubmit your signup to the EH roster after being removed. Again, things like editing your profile and posting a message on BSC message boards also count towards activity there, and will reset the timer. On your player profile at BSC, you can see your last activity date as well.
Now, I have a request about new signups to the roster. Currently, I hunt for the new pilots in the TC database to see which division they should go in. It would do me a great help though if everyone could enter their ID line in the comment section of the signup. This comment is only seen by the person approving your signup, and will make sure that you aren't mistaken for someone else or (worse) not found in the TC DB. Thank you :)
Wing VI Shuts Down
05:12 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Yes, those rumours are true. Yesterday, Wing VI onboard the SSSD Sovereign was officially closed down. Increasingly, the number of TIE pilots coming into the TC has declined and both myself and the SovCOM, Vice Admiral Proton, agreed that the Sovereign could no longer support so many TIE Wings. It was not an easy decision, but one we hope will strengthen the other Sov Wings. VI's former WC, Colonel Gen Es'mith, takes over the position of Wing I WC and all VI pilots have been transferred across the other Sov Wings. If anyone has a question or comment about what has happened, then please don't hesitate to email myself and the SovCOM.
Wing Commander Appointment
06:28 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Congratulations to Colonel Wil Striker on his promotion to Wing Commander of Wing XIV onboard the ISD Intrepid.
Imperial Storm Website
09:40 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The Imperial Storm III website is now online for viewing. It contains the rules, fleet lists and all the other resources pilots need to take part in this TIE Corps-wide wargame. If you have any questions about ImpStorm, then please email the Flight Officer or WO/VA Pel.
ASF Supremacy Competition
09:37 - AD Cyric [jroscoe@bellatlantic.net]
The Aggressor Strike Force Squadron Competition started approx. 2.5 - 3 years ago under then AD Priyum. Its goal was to create an atmosphere for the ASF where everysingle piece of activity was graded or scored, and each and every pilot had an opportunity to gain medals for this activity. It sought to find which squadron was the best in the ASF.
Of the activities graded: MP, SP, mission creation, battle creation, fiction, medals earned, Iwats courses completed, Recruitment, Graphics, to name a few are scored. I have also included WoW standings (1st,2nd,3rd asf pilots in the WoWs). Good luck to all ASF Squadrons and Pilots in this competition.
