Wing XIV Report #1

I want to start by congratulating my fellow WC comrades on their recent appointments! Congrats to MAJ Ekim Yellek [ISD Vanguard] and LC Wes Janson [ISD Grey Wolf]! It is rare for any BG to see all of its WC’s replaced in so short a time, and the ASF pulled this off without skipping a beat! It is by the dedication and service of our pilots that this was possible, and I want to personally thank every officer in the ASF for assisting the WC’s during their entry into these Flag positions!!

I want to thank everyone for their sincere emails and mentions on mIRC this week. It is great to see so much encouragement from the members of Wing XIV and the ASF! In the coming weeks there will be some changes made that will make things better in Wing XIV and the ISD Intrepid. I look forward to working with each and every pilot in Wing XIV as we strive to reach out and make our presence known throughout the Fleet!!

I want to apologize for the mass of information in this weeks report, but taking over command of Wing XIV has left me with the need to be sure that as much information as possible gets out. If I neglected to report anything I trust the CMDR’s will be sure to inform me so that I may include it in the next report. ;)

CMDR’s, (except MAJ Duncan Idaho), I will be expecting all WSR in my inbox by Friday of each week without fail from this point forward! Any CMDR that has a question on this change can contact me directly.

Wing XIV will have an official Egroup setup to allow for increasing communication and easier flow of information! All pilots should expect to see a welcome letter in the near future from the Egroup service providing details on how to use it, and what its purpose will be.

The CMDR’s for Asp and Copperhead Squadrons have been selected and we are awaiting the FO’s approval of the requests. Once they are officially in position they will be announced!!

Aggressor Strike Force – Supremacy Competition IV is underway and will run until 5/31/02. Details for the competition can be found at: http://vanguard.phpcoding.org/asfsc/index2.html, which brings me to my next point. Winning Battle Citations and LoC’s is a great way to increase the number of points for each Pilot, Squadron, and Ship. Therefore I request that ALL pilots of Wing XIV step up and present the highest level of activity possible for the ASF-SC IV!!

Work continues on the new Wing XIV Website. CPT Drako has informed me that he is searching out a reliable server that will enable the automated News Section to work properly. The WC’s Office is nearing completion as well, and anyone interested in seeing an early view of WC’s Office can use the link located to the left.

It’s great to see so many MP victories recently! I want to encourage every pilot in Wing XIV to visit the weekly MP Competitions and give their best. Remember, you still get 5 points even if you don’t win!

Competitions currently running in Wing XIV/ASF/TIE Corps

Krayt Squadron is running a “6x1 Competition” where the activity for each pilot is tabulated for a 6 month period. At the end of the 6 month period the most active pilot will be awarded an IS-BW!
Asp Squadron is running a Monthly TOP ACE Competition based in both SP and MP flying. A Kill Point is awarded each week to the pilot that scores the highest in an assigned SP mission. Additional Kill Points are available each month to pilots who win LoC’s in TC sponsored MP Competitions. The pilot with the most overall Kill Points at the end of the month is declared Asp Squadron’s TOP ACE and is awarded an IS-BW!

TIE Corps and ASF News

ASF BGCOM in shock after learning that COM/VA Brakka actually flew some battles! :P
The Internet Office is now hosting a site redirection service through Stardestroyer.org. Anyone that hosts a TC or EH related website is invited to join the service.
MAJ Ekim Yellek has been appointed as the new WC for Wing XV!
The Aggressor Strike Force Squadron Competition started approx. 2.5 - 3 years ago under then AD Priyum. Its goal was to create an atmosphere for the ASF where everysingle piece of activity was graded or scored, and each and every pilot had an opportunity to gain medals for this activity. It sought to find which squadron was the best in the ASF.

Of the activities graded: MP, SP, mission creation, battle creation, fiction, medals earned, Iwats courses completed, Recruitment, Graphics, to name a few are scored. I have also included WoW standings (1st,2nd,3rd asf pilots in the WoWs). Good luck to all ASF Squadrons and Pilots in this competition.
The Imperial Storm III website is now online for viewing. It contains the rules, fleet lists and all the other resources pilots need to take part in this TIE Corps-wide wargame. If you have any questions about ImpStorm, then please email the Flight Officer or WO/VA Pel.

Congratulations to Colonel Wil Striker on his promotion to Wing Commander of Wing XIV onboard the ISD Intrepid.
Rear Admiral Krax Tarnisar has been appointed as the new COM of the ISD Relentless.
Applications for a new WC in Wing IX are now being accepted.
Uniforms will not be accepted as Graphic entries for the ASF-SC IV!
All Fiction and Graphic entries are to be submitted to your CMDR, who will forward it the WC, and then the WC will forward to the COM!
CMDR/WC/COM medal requests need to include more than, “He flew a ton of missions”, in order to ensure that the requests are approved. Remember, that OPS is critical of why medals are awarded, so take the time to explain why the medal is being requested!
Yes, the rumors are true. Wing VI on the SSSD Sovereign has been closed. WC/COL Gen Es’mith has been transferred to command Wing I, and all pilots of Wing VI have been transferred into other Wings on the Sov.
BattleStats has a new system running on their server that deletes any inactive members after 100 days. Your profile remains, but you are removed from the club roster. Therefore everyone registered with BattleStats needs to be sure they keep their account active before the 100 day period hits to ensure your account remains!
Plans are in the works for an EH day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Anyone interested in attending contact the coordinators at gmfphoenix@aol.com and BradTack@isdcolossus.com for further information.
The IO has released new guidelines for all EH related Internet sites. The changes and updates can be found at http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php. It is advised that everyone with a site currently linked to the EH and TC databases read the new guidelines ASAP!
There has been a great deal of confusion recently with the times for the COO MP Competitions. The United States will be converting over to Daylight Savings at 2 am on 4/6/02, so it will not affect any U.S. members after that time. However, for those members who are not affected by a change in Daylight Savings, be sure to remember that all times from now on are GMT –4. This should help clear up any confusion on this matter. ;)
