Wing News

(Note: Any replies to anything in here should be made to the Colossus Egroups at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) or me individually at (absolutv@isdcolossus.com).

Sorry but due to a start of an extensive week at work, this report will be cut short. Just remember that Wing meetings are still going on for Sundays @ 2:00pm EST (1:00pm CST, 7:00pm GMT). Several comps are in the making from me as will soon be evident in the coming month. I have received the result from Wing VI and as soon as I here from their WC the comp will be finished and all medals will be awarded.

As I stated last Wing meeting, it would appear that MAJ Zystem Fryar will take first place, and CPT RAF will take Second place for Wing VIII. So a early congratz goes out to them for getting the top awards for the Colossus. Keep in mind that ECR is still ongoing and all ECR graphics are to be turned in to your CMDR's. Please get your entries in soon so we can establish a Wing participation percentage.

Okay well change two. We have won the Wing vs Wing comp by a large margin. Mostly due to the TIE flyers. The XWA flyers well, leave alot to be desired :P Here are the overall Wing stats for each Wing:

Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

ISDCA - ISD Colossus Ace Competition Round #2
Due to start November 1st. So I hope everyone has brushed up on their flying. I will be announcing the missions to fly to start this off on October 31.

Hall of the Grand Knight - (HGK):
Also due to start off on November 1st. Mission to fly will be released when all matches are set. I am taking names now to put them in the pool to see who will fly against who in the first round. If your not familiar with the rulz then I suggest you brush up on these, so visit the HGK website at HGK make sure you read the rules carefully. They are not difficult, but they don't tolerate certain areas as stated, so please understand the rules of engagment. If there are any questions contact the Hall moderators.

Shopping List
None at this time. Wing vs Wing results are out congratz to all who participated.

Lastly, like I said before, if you want some easy medals, then go fly. I have in the past awarded, ISMs for flying 20+ missions, PCs for flying 40+ missions, and BSs for flying 80+ missions. So if your game for a medal then go fly, its not hard just takes a little of your time and patience. Medals for the past week will be awarded after I submit this report as I will be submitting them right after :P

Egroups
Seems things are getting rather slow again. Come one lets pick up the chatter. A small reminder to the CMDR's, is you need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC VA Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report you will need to contact me via my e-mail at: LC Absolut Vodka (absolutv@isdcolossus.com) or simply add the Colossus egroup addy at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) to the TO: line. I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal.

IRC
This is becoming a better means of chat among our members. Things are going rather slowly by getting some of our newer members on-line IRC, however, things are picking up, really! Unfortunately my time on-line has been cut short to mostly weekends, as I have lots do to. Lastly, make sure you use the undernet when you sign on, then go to Channel #isd_colossus. This is where you'll find the most talkative of the Wing :)

Absolut Vodka Has done nothing! AV has been taken ill with the flu bug this past weekend and is desperately trying to fight his ailment. Will do what I can but don't expect much until I feel better :( sorry!

  2. Looks like no one will get awarded an ISM this week. If an ISM sounds cool to you then we can help you get an easy ISM. Just apply yourself for a few minutes of your day and do 4 IWATS courses for the week and you'll get one too! But they must be completed and passed within the reporting week or it doesn't count :P And CMDR's don't forget to try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF STATISTICS
Okay here we are at the heart of the Wing. The thing we've all waited to see. Well maybe you don't want to see it this week :P as it is pretty poor. But just remember, don't cheat to get that high score, as it will put your career in danger, trust me. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

Looks like we've almost surpassed our September goal. How far can we go, guess we'll have to wait and see! Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

  1. Top 5 Pilots of the Week
    Pretty poor show this last week, I hope this picks up a bit. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last week showing off their BSF stats:
    1. MAJ Zystem Fryar: 17 BSF's, 87 missions
    2. CM Aidan Pryde: 7 BSF's, 35 missions
    3. LCM Phalk Sturm: 5 BSF's, 25 missions
    4. CPT Daniel Klivian: 4 BSF's, 22 missions

My congratz to MAJ Zystem Fryar in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show this past week! CPT Avantar was on his arse but ZF is the one to beat this time taking the top gun award this time! I'll give the two Pi pilots a big cookie since they have retained the POW title for two weeks now. Does anyone feel they can challenge them to take it away from them? Good Luck!

Top Squadron of the Week
Over all I have to say congratulations to Pi Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award again for the second week! They did it by flying for: 35 BSF's and 197 missions for the month to date. Outstanding activity guys! Lets see if they can keep it up until the end of the month ;) They kept a steady pace through out the week thus earning them the title of Squadron of the Week for the second straight week. Good job guys!

Top Squadron of the Month for September
Everyone congratulate Nu Squadron! They have topped the charts with an overall 208 missions for the month of September. The only ones who even came close was Eta closing in behind with 194 missions. Competition for squadron of the month was close, but in the end the victor was Nu. Good job!

Well there ya have it. Pi taking it again. They have an outstanding show already this month. Eta is still not far behind and could if a few dedicated pilots were to start flying they could catch PI! I just hope in the coming weeks we'll see a more competitive atmosphere between our pilots which will help with activity. I would like to see more fighting for the top honors. Will Pi hold on to it for the rest of the month? Stay tuned to the Colossus network, as it can only get better!

Most of you probably didn't know that we has meeting of Polish pilots last summer. Yes, we are going to do it again, but this time with better participation and an even bigger party. Just like last year, the meeting will take place near city of Bialystok. If you don't know where it is, check 200kms east from capital city of Warsaw. The location is in a great summer house among the woods. Swimming pool included! :)

I am going to organize it again, but time a bit later. Let's say around 10th of the July 2002. If you would like to join us, just e-mail. If you need more information, do it too. Last summer we had 10 participating EH Pilots and I want to see more next year!
