Wing report #1

After a long day in the training simulators, WC Strahd returns to his quarters for a well deserved nap. Actually, this has been the first time he has been able to rest for a week...

"Man, this is one busy ship! I better sleep a while while I still can." Just then, the com light turns on...

Ender was in a panic "Strahd, we really need to get Scorpion a cmdr! I've been hearing around the ship that morale may be slipping!"

"Everything has been take care of sir" Strahd replied in a daze. "I have finished my interviews and all will be sorted out soon."

"What about my reports?" Ender asked. "And you also must review all the Vanguard's battle reports from all pilots too! Did you fishish checking the datapads?"

Strahd looked to his desk to find it covered in datapads. 4 columns of 20 datapads high. With more on the floor...

"Yes sir! I'll get right on it...you know I do my best sir, but it's been a crazy week...with the retirement of LCM Rex, the loss of Scorpion's cmdr, the catching up on wing news from Zippy Hawk and getting familiar with the ship and..."

"I don't need to know your life story, just get on it A.S.A.P. . I got Cyric breathing down my neck..." Ender interrupted.

"Will do, Strahd out" Well, looks like I won't be sleeping tonight...

Avenger squadron has beaten Red Squadron. Various matches were flown with Avenger coming out ahead and smashing their competition.

Wing News:

Vanguard Interactive Battle round 2 has started up. make sure you send your pilot files to your respective cmdrs and please zip the fictions. It takes up much less space...

Scorpion Squadron finally has a cmdr! I'm really sorry about the wait guys. I wanted to make my first real WC decision a good one. I held interviews and I finally chose Ekim due to his views on squadron activities. I got many applications and help interviews with those that chose to pursue the command. Please give him a warm welcome to the ship.

New pilots aboard!

We had an influx of pilots these past few days...please welcome them
all...they are:

SL Maverick (Echo 2-3)
SL Xanthos (Scorpion 1-4)
SL Kuja (Mantis 1-2)

If you have any questions or anything really, please feel free to ask your cmdrs or myself for help. This place is pretty big and sometimes you just need a tour around to get started...

Wing Objectives:

Ok...now this is where I get serious a bit. Not too worry though...it's not that bad. No please, hear me out first!

First: I have noticed that some squadron members still have the rank of SL. And that you have been SLs for quite some time. To get promoted is easy...just do anything. Complete a free mission that can be down-loaded from the Battle Center (http://www.tiecorps.org/battles/battletypes.asp) Fly in a MP event. The Combat Calendar has a listing of all the times and locations of these competitions (http://www.tiecorps.org/combat/calendar.asp) Complete your INPR. Anything! You didn't just join up to sit on your hands while Rebels zoom past you did you?

Second: I would really like it if the cmdrs take care of their pilots. I noticed that some pilots weren't awarded their medals they so deserved. Most of which were Commendations of Bravery. (one pilot had 75 FCHG points and still hadn't received it). So I want to see these types of things ASAP cause to get a Commendation of Bravery is very simple meaning that mostly new members will be awarded these and I don't want morale to suffer because of this.

Third: Even though we are the MP ship in the fleet, we chould have at least some squad citations to our names no? At least all the XWA ones for our ship. I'm not asking about getting all 15 TC-XWA battles completed in a week. But maybe one per pilot every 2 weeks? I plan to implement an incentive to this to get you out there...

I will hold a SP competition for the whole wing every 2 weeks. Every 2 weeks I will choose an XWA battle (TC, IW or Free) and there will be medals for the top scorer. I will not participate in them...I will just be the judge of them. I plan to get the first one of these competitions off teh ground in the next week. So warm up your forearms and trigger fingers...

Fourth: We are the ASF. THE multi-player ship of the fleet. So I would like to see at least some sort of participation in things. Like perhaps one a month? One way I would like to accomplish this will be done in 3 steps.

-I will have a training night with all the cmdrs of each squadron to bouce off tips, tricks, and also just to have fun.

-These cmdrs will then in turn train with thier pilots and help out the rookies and the in-experienced.

-Then we will all feel comfortable to play in MP then we'll start showing up more at events...

I will start with phase one in the coming weeks. I would like all cmdrs to report in to me the best times they can fly. I myself can be found on-line any week-day after 8:30 pm EST and week-ends anytime before 4 PM. Training will be 2 hours...Then it will be up to the cmdrs to organize meetings with their squads (you could even divide it up by having your FL take care of their FMs as well). But one thing for sure...I'd like to see at least 50% of the cmdrs with me during that training night.

Fifth: Cmdr reports, I know you all have had a different schedule with Hawk so I will go slowly...I would like to get the next squadron reports by August 3rd and then every Friday after that. So anyone who hasn't sent them in yet, wait till the 3rd. Also, MSEs should be sent to myself on the last day of every month. I will be awaiting them anxiously...

Sixth: A note about reports, I will be asking the cmdrs to be doing something they may or may not have been doing. With the previous WC, you all got the report at the same time (Cmdrs, pilots, command staff). But now I will do this a bit differently. The cmdrs and command staff will be getting it at the same time...But: it will be the cmdrs responsibilty to forward the report to their pilots. I want you to get talking to your squads. I want the most squadron inter-action that there can be!

That should just about cover it. I just want you all to know that my job is to make things fun for you. If you have any ideas...E-mail your cmdrs to see what they can do. If it's something they can't help you with...they they'll forward the info to myself and we'll see what we can do. I plan to make this wing a great place to be so let's help me do it. Gimme gimme gimme!
