This is Commodore, RA Manitsas reporting in for the ISD Challenge.
I will soon be going on leave until the end of July. I am assigning my Wing Commander, GN Darklord, as Acting COM during that time. I am very pleased with his performance since his return to duty this summer.
WC Darklord has done very well with his development and running of the Wing X League competition. The competition has completed Round 3, and we will be expecting our squadron commanders to submit their TFRs for Round 4 by next week.
Thunder and Typhoon squadrons under MAJ Beef and CPT Daisuke Airyu were close to being closed down, merged, or assigned new command due to low numbers of pilots in June. However, with a recent upsurge of new pilots in Tempest, Thunder and Typhoon squadrons, it looks as if Thunder is back to excellent health. Typhoon is also showing some hopeful signs with CPT Airyu personally recruiting several of the new Typhoon pilots, and GN Darklord will be continuing to monitor his performance as Typhoon CMDR closely for me in July and will report back to me upon my return in August.
Cyclone squadron is doing well under the command of their new CMDR, CM Garrett Hap'Kette. CPT Locke of Tempest and CPT Calvin Nunb of Inferno have both been promoted to Major. Major Locke is our hands-down favorite for possible BGCOM's Own Sqadron CMDR for June (please, please, please).
WC Darklord is asking the Squadron Commanders for Competition ideas to run at the end of the Wing X league. CPT Daisuke Airyu (in his secondary position of Challenge Doctor) is already planning a humor competition for that time. I am hoping to see an article of mine published soon in either the EH Vogue or the EH Newsletter.
I wish to thank my Wing Commander and all the squadron commanders of Wing X for jobs well done. Their dedication and hard work have made me very proud of all of the pilots of the Challenge.
