Wing III Report #3 - April 25th, 2001
Introduction
------------------
First, sorry for the short delay of this report - details on that in the
Misc section.
I've finally been released from the Pit to write this report, so I'll come
to the main message immediately: RECRUIT! With only 29 members were the
smallest of the Sov's Wings of the Soverign and there seems to be some
*looks for FA Kramer, but can't find him in the audience* weird tradition
that the WingCommander of the smallest Wing has to spend all his free time
in the Pit!
I've tried to make friends with the ScorpTroopers using all of the whisky I
brought down there, but that made things only worse...
You can help to prevent that I've to visit this horrible place again -
recruit! Ask everyone you know! Show them the
priviledges of being an Imperial Officer (you can show them my quarters and
office and say it's the average LT's quarter). Email old friends and some
others from the reserves; ask new cadets if they need help (remember not to
spam them). Basically do
everything you can think of to increase our numbers and fill our squadrons.
Having a full squadron is usually more fun for everyone, since you have more
people to chat, fly and drink with - and maybe in some
hopefully-not-so-distant future we can even reopen Gimel Squadron...
Wing III News
------------------
- Wing III monthly Top Gun contest is back!! Fly the attatched mission and
send your pilot file to me until May 1st! The pilot with the highest score
will be given the title of "Top Gun of Wing III" for two weeks as well as an
IS-BW!
- Wing III Survivor Challenge update! I just noticed made quite big mistake
in the results I released to the Survivors and the CMDRs on Monday -
Actually I only got submissions from all but one Survivor (and not from
everyone, as announced in the results)...

I did not attatch the submissions to this report since there already are
quite a lot of other attatchments and most of you probably already got them
forwarded from your CMDRs...
CM Mayk Wolverine submitted the best graphics and therefore gained immunity
for this round of voting! Congrats! His banner will also be used for the
Wing III message board.
The Survivors currently have 114 points - that means the last Survivor will
at least get an IS-BW! Good work!

Here is the challenge for round number 4:
This challenge will be fairly easy - find the following things on the net
and send the URLs to me! The Survivor with the first complete submission
will gain immunity for next week's voting.
- 1 point: Where can you find the project that updates the XWA models to
more detailed versions?
- 1 point: What URL has the page on the TC domain where you can see how many
posts every TC member has made on the TC message boards?
- 1 point: Where can you download 3d models of nearly all Star Wars
fighters?
- 1 point: Where can you see an autographed picture of Rune Haako (Jerome
Blake)
Bonus (doesn't need to be found for a compete submission):
- 1 point: see misc
- 1 point: Where can you find an exact and precise description on how
hyperspace works? At how many times lightspeed are starships in Star Wars
suspected to travel?
- Wing III Commander's Assistant - sorry people, with most of the last days
spent in the Pit, I didn't get enough time to teach my pet what's right and
wrong yet, so you'll have to wait another week (I fully expect to have found
enough time till then) until you can "have a friendly chat" with it, as
Osan'gar recently put it...
- Wing III meetings are held in #wing_iii on Undernet at 6 pm GMT / 1 pm EST
every Sunday. Attendance to last Sunday's meeting was pretty good though we
didn't have any triva because LT Dark Angel's connection was broken. Next
week that should be fixed and CM Cal Sinis is going to prepare some backup
questions so everything should work out fine. You can find a log of last
week's meeting attatched.
- Remember that we have a message board. Go and post at
http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/view.asp?b=48! CM Mayk's banner has already been
added.
- The inta-Aleth Squadron competition "AC #1" will end on Friday. Pilots
should have flown TC-XWA #1 until then!
- Hey Squadron pilots are ordered to fly FREE-XWA #18 until the 8th of May,
so you have a chance to win against Teth Squadron!
- Daleth Squadron has started an intra-Squadron competition as well. The
mission to fly is IW-XWA #27 and the deadline April 29th!

- Sov League 2000 started again.
- The Sovereign has a new logo (attatched)! GN Wolly has given permission
for the design he originally created for the EH Logo comp to be used as new
banner of the Sovereign. It looks great - don't hesitate to put it on your
websites.
- The Mr./Miss. EH Competition for the year 2001 is up and running - this
time brought to you by the Logistics Office. Check out

- Admiral Ozzel joined the Fleet! Admiral Ozzel (Michael Sheard) has agreed
to become a member of the Emperor's Hammer! He's been given the honorary
rank of Admiral and an EH email address: AdmiralOzzel@emperorshammer.org.

Did you ever try to find something at www.microsoft.com? When you have a
direct link to what you're searching everything works pretty well, but in
case you're searching something that's not completely up-to-date it becomes
harder and harder - maybe it's just me, but it usually takes me ages to get
to the things I want. Just try to find the page where you can download
DirectX 8, but start at www.microsoft.com - that should be fairly simple! ;)
I offer one additional point to every Survivor that can find the download
link for the Visual Basic CCE!!
Now, why is this report late a day? Well, I nearly finished typing it up (I
was just thinking about the Misc section) when I actidentally closed Outlook
and then restarted it, which crashed my computer and effectively killed the
whole report...So I had to start over again :-/

chasing enemys as you do so!
