Fleet News
==========

  • The EH WebRing is now working again. Go visit it at http://webring.emperorshammer.ca, and add any EH sites that aren't on the list.

  • The Graphics course is now online. You can check it out at http://www.imperialacademy.org/graphics/. The course professor is CM Daisuke Airyu

  • AD Quake has officially stepped down as Lord Ambassador of the Advanced Guard. However, he has been appointed Command Attaché to Executive Officer, Sector Admiral Kawolski.

  • XWA League III has ended, with Ranger Squadron in first place (397,095 points). Typhoon was the only Wing X squadron to participate, and came in at 12th place (47,926 points) out of 15 squadrons from around the fleet.

  • Many congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Sequoh Marden who has been appointed as the new WC of Wing III, following the approval of COM/FA Kramer and the Flight Office.

  • The ICQ course is now online and fully operational. You can check it out at http://www.imperialacademy.org/icq. The professor is CM Flelm.

  • Over the course of last week, two Flag promotions were granted within the TIE Corps. Congratulations to LC Badlands, Wing CMDR of WXI, who was promoted to Colonel and to COL Jeff Loruss, WC of Avenger WII, who was promoted to General.

  • Earlier last week, General Sasquatch, current Commander of Wing III announced his retirement from active service. The General is awarded the Gold Star of the Empire.

  • The Training Manual has been updated with the removal of references to the Naval Corps.

  • The new Adjudicators for the TIE Corps Battlegroups Arena have been selected. The names are below, and congratulations to all those selected ... yeah, and I know I'm part of that list too, heh. Vice Admiral Ari is being supplied with these names and the BG Arena will be up and running very shortly. Get ready, it is sure to be one wild ride!

  • COL MANITSAS SERVES AS ACTING COMMODORE
    Congratulations to COM/VA Corran Force, who is away until Wednesday, April 11, on his honeymoon. The only question is, "why did he ONLY take off until Wednesday!?!"

  • MEDAL AND PROMOTION RECS
    This is my first month as Wing Commander, and I'm still working my way through things. I intend to contact each CMDR with a report on the medal and promotion requests you made in your Monthly Squadron Reports (I've already contacted CMDR/CM Locke). It should be no surprise that the Operations Office has become very tight with medal requests. There were a number of pilots who passed several FCHG ranks past Hussar, yet more than a single ISM was denied. The awarding of medals for "high activity this month" is now being summarily rejected, for being "too vague." There were a number of CMDRs who asked for promotions of pilots who had not yet served enough time in their current rank and position. It is important to check the Training Manual for promotion eligibility before making a request.

  • RECRUITMENT COMPETITION
    The Challenge and the Colossus are vying to recruit more pilots than the other in our deceptively named "Recruitment Competition." In such a competition, there are only winners! Remember that NO ONE except an elite squadron can recruit pilots from other squadrons, and we CANNOT e-mail cadets asking them to join. We CAN post messages on the TIE Corps Message board and we CAN e-mail cadets, offering to help them complete their entrance requirements.

  • TYPHOON VS TRAPPER COMPETITION
    This one will be a grudge match between CM Daisuke Airyu and one of his former CMDRs. Plans are being finalized and the battle might be TC-TIE 143.

  • INFERNO VS SPEAR COMPETITION
    The plans for a competition with Spear Squadron of the Relentless call for a TC-TIE Battle to be flown sometime in the next several weeks. The battle has now been selected by Krax Tarnisar and Calvin Nunb.

  • AIRYU'S (TYPHOON'S) GRUDGE MATCH
    Typhoon pilots are flying TC-TIE Battle #45 before 4/17. The winner will be awarded the Iron Star - Bronze Wings.

  • TEMPEST MISSION FLYING COMPETITION
    Pilots from Tempest will attempt to fly as many missions as possible in the month of April. The pilot who flies the most will be awarded the Iron Star - Bronze Wings. Already LT Master and LT Alimet are in the lead.

  • TEMPEST DEFEATS CYCLONE
    The Iron Star - Bronze Wings has been awarded to FL/LCM Sephiroth/Tempest 2-1 for getting the highest score in the Tempest vs Cyclone competition [Competition ID #: 457] flying FREE-TIE Mission #17. Tempest wins with the highest average with 5 of 7 pilots flying, but Cyclone was impressive with 100% participation!

  • TORNADO VS SWORD ENDS TODAY
    The new round of the Tornado Supremacy Tour against Sword squadron [Competition ID #: 464] ends today with pilots flying FREE-TIE #66 - The Battle of Yavin. This was the first mission I ever wrote, and used to be called "Manitsas #1." An Iron Star with Bronze Wings will be awarded to the highest scoring pilot.

  • CYCLONE - THUNDER COMPETITION
    Cyclone and Thunder will be flying a certain FREE-TIE Mission starting Wednesday the 11th and ending on the 18th. The mission # will be announced Tuesday night.

  • CYCLONE CUP 2001 ENDS TODAY
    CM Corran Halcyon and Cyclone are continuing their round robin of one-on-one free mission matches. The current standings and the winners for round 2 are:
