IWATS
Today marks a turning point in the history of IWATS. A change in focus and in purpose, as well as the courses. The past three months since I took the position of Dean have proven challenging and interesting. I have endeavoured to improve IWATS and in turn improve the Emperor's Hammer as a whole.
The result of this is a new structure and new courses that cover a wide range of topics and subjects. Not just to teaching members how to fly in the Star Wars flight simulation trilogy (X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter), but also to teach them new skills so they may employ them in the EH somehow.
Skills such as creating simple graphics and using IRC that may help increase their enjoyment and fun within the club, because, when we get down to it, we're here to have fun. Fun, whether it be flying an X-Wing, or playing Jedi Knight, or creating a web page, or writing fiction.
The diversity of these interests demands a diversity in all facets, especially in training. Thus, we have these new courses. The first round of these new courses are listed below:
It is envisaged that other courses will follow, covering equally diverse topics and subject matter. This will help cement IWATS' place as the premiere training academy within the EH.
Also, to go hand-in-hand with these new courses will be a new IWATS web site, one which will be most impressive, going beyond the usual web sites seen on the Internet. This will mostly be thanks to the supreme graphical talents of Vice Admiral Thayer, currently the Command Attache to the OPS.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT EVENTS, etc.
1. Over fifty (50) people have graduated IWATS since the appointment of myself to the position of Dean. Somewhat of a personal milestone.
2. The 26
3. Since it's inception, the revised IIC courses have seen over 130 graduates.
4. The new IIC site, in about 110 days of operation, has received over 600 hits.

STAFF CHANGES
There was significant downsizing of the IWATS staff. IIC Professor Tiger was promoted to CA:LO/VA and left his position. Tad (CA:CTO) left upon receiving FOA. Volkov currently retains his CTO position. IIC Professor is still vacant. Several new professors will be put on to deal with the new courses that have been implemented.
