The Aggressor Wing has been "under construction" of late, as the command
staff has been working to make the structure of the AW efficient and
workable. Many of you may already know this, since you've had to sign-up
more than once. For that, I apologize. I understand just how frustrating
that can be...I, myself, came to the AW as the SQCO of one of the two
AW-SQD's, Lance SQD. Lance SQD, and it's counterpart, Excalibur SQD, didn't
have a long life--they were dissolved only a month after their creation, due
to the reorganization of the AW.
Well, that's all behind us now. We've got it all figured out, and here's how it's gonna work:
· Gone are the flight groups, "active" and "inactive" rosters. The Command Staff has decided that everybody who meets the requirements and is accepted into the ranks of the Aggressor Wing will be eligible to fly in the online missions against the Rebel Squadrons. There won't be a large number of pilots each week having to sit out of the fun because they "didn't make the cut." The roster will now (and forever) be divided into two groups of pilots: flight leaders and flight members.
· Flight Leaders - an elite group of pilots (top 25% of membership) who have participated in the extended training of the AW's Flight Leader School (name under development), run by the Aggressor Wing's Tactical Officer, BG Citrus. If more than 25% of membership desire to enroll in this advanced training school, then competitive tests, missions, etc. will be used to determine the top pilots who will be the FL's for either 1 month or the duration of one campaign. These FL's will be the person in charge of the flight group in a given battle. All of the FL's orders MUST be followed by the 3 FM's in the group; of course, this means that the ultimate responsibility for success/failure falls on the shoulders of the FL. [AW-FL] will be placed at the end of the ID lines of those pilots who qualify for FL.
·Flight Members - everyone who has been admitted into the AW will be designated as an AW-FM. All FM's will be eligible to participate in the online battles with the RS, provided they complete the basic training that will be administered by the AW-TAC. [AW-FM] will be placed at the end of the ID lines of all AW pilots who are not FL's.
· Battles will be scheduled with the RS at least 2 weeks in advance...we're hoping to schedule as much as a month in advance, but we'll see. Battles will be announced on the 1st and 15th of each month, by posting on the Internet.
· Each and every pilot will sign-up for the battles they want to fly, making sure their real-world schedules will allow them to--with everyone signing themselves up, there will be no excuses short of an emergency or computer failure for a pilot to be absent from a battles he/she signed up for.
· Each "group" of pilots who fly a mission will be made up of 3 AW-FM's and
1 AW-FL (since XvT will only support 8 players at the most). Every group
that flies will have a FL in charge. Each battle may have more than one
group of four sign up--we'll use as many as we can, depending on how many
players the RS has signed up for that mission. Mission assignments will be
given on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is up to you to find out when
the next battles are scheduled and to sign up for them.
Well, that's it...that's the basic framework for how flight-ops will work
here on the M/FRG Phoenix. If you have any questions about the new (and
final) system, email me, LG Lanche, at
LGLanche@aol.com.
There's also been some changes in the Command Staff:
· I'd like to congratulate BG Citrus for his promotion to the position of Aggressor Wing Tactical Officer (AW-TAC). He will now be in charge of training, mission/battle development, etc.
· There is now only one AW-XO...myself. The office of XO had been previously
divided into two offices: XO(Personnel) and XO(Training). With LG Blazer's
resignation from the post of XO(t), FA Zach decided it was best to just
dissolve that position entirely, and have the AW-TAC take over the training
duties.
To sign-up to fly with the EH's best, simply pay a visit to my Office here on
the Phoenix, at
and completely fill out the sign-up form located there. If you are a current
AW member but have not filled out the form, please do so for administrative
purposes.
