Clans
- Clans are "Great Houses" consisting of twice as many
members as a house (100). Clans have the ability to "adopt" up to two houses,
each increasing their membership capacity by 200 (Clan+House=300 members
max...). This gives Clans a considerable edge over normal houses. Clans are
under the Command of a Consul and his assistant Proconsul who are appointed
by the Grand Master under recommendation of the Clan’s founder. The Consul
has almost the same duties as a Quaestor, but he rules over almost 10 times
as many Jedi. The position descriptions of the Consul and Proconsul, as
stated in the Dark Side Compendium, are as follows:
CONSUL - A Consul is the chief officer of a Clan, commanding at
least 100 members. It is anticipated that this position will not be awarded
until the Brotherhood grows, but when it is awarded, the officer will be
responsible for control of all events, contests, etc. within his Clan. The
Consul will also be responsible for the submission of his Clan’s roster and
his Clan’s DV section. A Consul is at least a Sith Battlelord or equivalent.
PROCONSUL - A Proconsul is the second to a Consul, aiding him in the
administration of a Clan much the same way an Aedile does in the
administration of a House. Once again, this position will not be filled
until the Brotherhood grows in size. Proconsuls are responsible for whatever
the Consul assigns him. A Proconsul is at least a Sith Battlemaster or
equivalent.
Clans will also assume an identity, but this will be done more readily as Clans will simply be a conglomerate of the Houses they contain. Clans will be required to have a larger history than houses, also adding to their identity. The Consul is responsible for constantly updating/adding to the history.
Clans may be granted arms by the Herald to represent them in the DVs. Smaller seals will also be made for display on a clan member's Grant of Arms.
There will be only 2 Clans permitted for every 500 members in the
DB. Each Clan will have the duty to protect/watch over an entire system
(preferably one in which their houses are in). Aurora may not be chosen
(with the exception of the Fleet Commander’s Clan Alvaak).
The formation of a clan takes the same format as a house with only minor
changes. The steps are as follows
1: The house must be named. It cannot be one already in use by a House or another Clan.
2: The Clan must have a fairly long history (~2 pages) for Dark Voice posting.
3: A roster of the Clan must be submitted showing the recommended Consul/Proconsul and 28 other members whom wish to join the Clan.
One special rule for clans. Unlike houses, the Clans will NOT be made
on a first-come first-serve basis. The Grand Master will only let clans be
formed by prominent DB members who have proven themselves to be good workers
in the past (A Quaestor) or important EH figureheads/leaders (I.E. The GA and
Clan Alvaak).
If there are any other questions concerning Clans please ask the Grand
Master (RAJACtRip@aol.com)
