MISSION #2

Clue #1 (NL #21) 

In order to give Bounty Hunters a start on the Mission, I present the following....

"The Bounty Hunter is requested to review the FSRC Organizations folders (Keyword

"FSRC">Organizations) for a posting by one of our operatives on DAY 2...The day of

release of this Newsletter will be DAY 0...(Look in one of the Warrior's Guild

Folders)...Arturus will direct you to the location of a meeting on Coruscant where leaders

of the New Republic Provisional Governement have gathered to discuss the anticipated

uses of the captured ISDs...The Bounty Hunter must eavesdrop the meeting, and learn the

name of the Star Liner going to Nar Shaddaa (homeworld of the Hutts) where General

Lando Calrissian will be met by Rebel operatives and shuttled to the Hast Shipyards to

oversee the retrofit of the two new ISDs...

The ultimate identification of the system where the Hast Shipyards are located will earn

1.5 million Imperial Credits...

The following has just occurred on the Bridge of the SSD Avenger:

"Grand Admiral, we have just received a communique from one of the Bounty

Hunters on Coruscant. Apparently, General Calrissian and General Wedge

Antilles were overheard at the meeting as you had ordered.", the XO whispered

as he handed GA Ronin the tight beam transmission hard copy.

::My Lord, I am leaving Coruscant with the information you have requested and

a bit more. Unfortunately, I can only relate a portion in this transmission.

The Corellian Star Liner, Freya, leaves Coruscant tonight with General

Calrissian on board. Calrissian is scheduled to stop at Nar Shaddaa

(homeworld of the Hutts) in 3 days where he will be met by Rebel operatives

and shuttled to the Hast Shipyards to oversee the retrofit of the two new

ISDs... He desires to personally inspect the two captured ISDs, Accuser and

Adjudicator, which have been renamed Emancipator and Liberator. There will

be an escort of several corvettes and assorted starfighters with Calrissian

but no larger ships. The NR obviously does not want to attract too much

attention.

From what I gathered from Calrissian's recent meeting here on Coruscant with

Ackbar and Antilles, the planned upgrades for the ISDs include the addition

of significantly more powerful Rebel weapons, a new sensor and shield suite

and a higher yield drive system.

Over the next 3 days, I will be "shadowing" the Freya on her way to Nar

Shaddaa and will report to you as I enter orbit around the Hutt Homeworld

(i.e. on DAY 5). I will be sending another communique to you at that time in

the Organizations Folders (FSRC>Message Boards>Organizations).

A smile comes across the ragged face of the Fleet Commander, at last, the

Hammer may have a target! The Hast Shipyards would be quite a trophy for the

Empire's vengeance!

The following communique was relayed via holonet relay into the comm system

of the PLT Daedalus...Where Grand Master Kane personally reviewed its

contents and immediately contacted Grand Admiral Ronin...

"TO: Fleet Commander, Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet

FROM: CLASSIFIED

I have succeeded in tracking the Freya to the Moon of Nar Shaddaa. This moon

orbits Hal Hutta and serves as home of the Evocii. It is also the base for

the many techs and support personnel supporting the the highly mechanized

Hutt homeworld below. Although the moon of Nar Shaddaa once was a great

center for intergalactic shipping, it now it referred to as the "Smuggler's

Moon", as it is no longer within normal shipping lanes. Consequently, this

moon has been attractive to the seedier underside of the galaxy and is also

home to the mutated Evocii, original residents of the planet, Varl (Nal

Hutta), below.

The Freya docked at an obscure refeuling spire as General Lando Calrissian

disappeared into the cavernous twisted maze of city upon city below. I

tracked him with thermal imagers into a large hangar into the deeper levels

of the lowest city to the moon's surface. There he met with several Rebel

officers, a group of Hutts and their support staff. Keeping a respectable

distance I noticed Calrissian passing a data chip to the primary Hutt in the

group. My apologies, but I never have been able to positively identify this

individual. However, I did subsequently, slip into his base and retrieved

the chip. Calrissian returned to the Freya shortly thereafter and I will

continue to trail him. I am under the assumption he heading towards the

system where the Hast Shipyards are located.

I will report to you when I can. The following details the contents of the

data chip*:

The Bounty Hunter was personally ordered by Admiral Kane to report back on

DAY 7 (Monday, 7/24/95) in the Dark Brotherhood Folder (FSRC>Message

Board>Organizations>Dark Brotherhood Folder). Apparently the Dark

Brotherhood has taken a "personal" interest in the Hast Shipyards. It seems

like everyone in the Fleet is ready for a little "payback" for Endor.

Grand Admiral Ronin had just finished his command shift on the bridge of the SSD Avenger. He was tired and needed some time alone to think. Although he could have easily chosen larger, more regal quarters, Ronin preferred to live as his Pilots did. Upon entering the spartan two room command suite, Ronin stripped the white uniform of the Grand Admiral and retired for the night (or was it morning, he couldn't recall). 

While falling asleep, the Commander's mind began to ponder the future of the Hammer. The Emperor's Hammer Fleet was looking to him for guidance. He must not let the Fleet or the Emperor down. In the hours before his death at Endor, Palpatine had told Ronin that the Hammer would instrumental in the Empire's ultimate victory. As a matter of fact, Ronin began to suspect that he hadn't seen the last of Palpatine. Such great men never truly die, only take "leaves of absence". 

His discussions just yesterday with Admiral Paladin and General Sths Tor, the other Members of the Dark Brotherhood ruling Council, made him realize that the upcoming attack on the Hast Shipyards would prove to be a decisive Imperial victory. He wasn't quite sure how they knew this, but it was to be fact. There were rumors from the Imperial Security Bureau that most of the Rebel Fleet had been transferred by the New Republic to the Hast Shipyards for repair and refit. 

"If the Hammer could strike first and take down the Rebel Fleet, that may give us the time we need to build our forces", Ronin whispered to himself as he began to fall asleep. 

"::Grand Admiral contact the Bridge...::", the intercom buzzed in his ears. 

"Damn, what now?", Ronin thought. "Yes, Fleet Admiral, what is it?", he responded leaving off the video monitor. He didn't like the crew, even his Command Officers, to see him out of uniform. 

"Sir, we have a priority message coming in from the Bounty Hunter tracking the Freya. Shall I patch it through to your quarters?", Adams requested in a very professional manner. Ronin liked FA Adams, a leader of men. He had been with Ronin almost since the formation of the Hammer, only 8 months ago. In that time, he had served as Tactical Officer, guiding the Hammer through 25 some odd engagements. With Ronin's recent Fleet restructuring and Pappy's untimely death, Ronin made Adams his new XO. A reliable Officer and friend. 

"Yes, patch it through.", Ronin answered quietly.

"Grand Admiral, I have some critical news, can we speak freely?" The Bounty Hunter looked frightened, almost panicked on the Monitor; but the Hunter could not see Ronin. Ronin was curious. 

"Go ahead, Hunter, we're on a secure channel.", Ronin answered. 

The Bounty Hunter then sent an intricately scrambled burst transmission, which the Avenger's advanced comm system decoded and replayed on Ronin's monitor without delay. Other Commanders may have had to wait days for their comm computers to decode this message. 

<COMPUTER TRANSLATING COMM CODE...PLEASE WAIT> 

":::Lord, I have tracked the Star Liner Freya, carrying Calrissian. Well, Lord, I am in the system where he arrived...Problem is, the whole Rebel Fleet must be here! From the asteroid belt between the sixth and seventh planets of the system and using my limited sensors, I have been able to count 3 Assault Platforms, 25 Corvettes, 7 Nebulon-B Modified Frigates and TEN MC80 Mon Calamari Star Cruisers! The whole system is buzzing with Rebel Fighters and transports. It took me a while, but I think I have found the ISDs Adjudicator and Accuser. They are both docked to the same Platform. Lord, just get the Fleet to this system with an Interdictor Cruiser and you'll have the whole damned Rebel Fleet in your gunsights! 

Standby for system coordinates transmission. 

<COMPUTER TRANSLATING COMM CODE...PLEASE WAIT> 

I should warn you this system isn't on any published star maps. I'm not even sure I can find my own way out of here. However, my Nav Computer has translated my inertial coordinates into standard Imperial code. you should have no problem finding the system. It lies within the Outer Rim Sector. The Emperor's Hammer may be close by as it is! My Lord, with your permission, I will take my leave now?" The Bounty Hunter was sweating noticeably. 

"Of course, Hunter! Return to the Hammer immediately for debriefing. But make sure you aren't tracked yourself! We have much to discuss! Excellent job, I will credit your account as we agreed. 1.5 million ICs, as I recall." Ronin could barely contain his battlelust. We have them, he thought to himself. 

"That is correct, my Lord. I should be on the Avenger within 2-3 days. I shall see you then.", the monitor went blank. 

Ronin pondered the news...we have the Rebel Fleet! Almost immediately Ronin hit the Command intercom. "ALL COMMAND OFFICERS TO THE BRIDGE IMMEDIATELY!!!" Ronin could hear the reverberations of his commands over the huge ship. "Damn, I love this job", Ronin thought."
