The Following represents an excerpt from the Emergency War Briefing made by the Wing Commander immediately following the withdrawal of the Emperor's Hammer from the Endor System:
"Fellow Command Officers, Squadron Commanders, Pilots and Trainees, may I have your attention, please?
<An ominous silence comes over the SSD Avenger Ready Room>
This is the current situation in the Empire, as I understand it....
Following the recent destruction of the Second Deathstar Battlestation and the death of our Emperor Palpatine at the traitorous hands of Lord Darth Vader, the Empire is in shambles. As soon as the SSD Executor collided with the Deathstar and the Emperor's rule was extinguished, the remnants of the Imperial Fleet cowardly routed to the far corners of the Empire. Total chaos apparently reigns in the Imperial Palace at Coruscant. The Avenger has been receiving distress communiques from all over the Empire for the past two days!
Due to Palpatine's sweeping control and authority over the Empire, no one ever considered what would occur if he perished. It is rumored that Grand Visier Pestage, Steward of the Imperial Personal Archives, is currently working day and night to find a biological heir for the throne. However, several noble Imperial families and clans in the Inner Core Worlds have already proposed to place one of their own as Imperial Successor. Unfortunately, as I have learned, the prospects for success are slim, to say the least. Consequently, I believe that the Emperor's Hammer must continue to fight the Rebel Alliance, alone if need be. The Emperor rightfully forsaw the inevitable shift in the balance of the Force...As he said many times in his teachings, the powers of the Force are cyclical and they is no avoiding this end...Consequently, Palpatine created the Emperor's Hammer to become a bastion for the Empire in its hour of need. We must remain ever vigilant and strong in our battles ahead...I will be counting on ALL of you to perform your tasks without question or hesitation...
Initially, I have ordered the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and all its screening vessels back to the PLT Daedalus, in the Outer Rim Sector for regrouping and retrofit. I estimate we shall spend 4 to 8 weeks at the Platform for retraining and collection of new recruits. In addition, the PLT Daedalus, once a Training Platform, is currently being upgraded to a full scale Assault Support Platform in order to supply our ever growing Strike Fleet. With the supplies and materiel we have salvaged from the Eloggi Imperial Mining Platform in the Endor System, the Emperor's Hammer will be able to accomplish all required upgrades in record time. I should point out that, since the Emperor had considered the possibility of defeat for the Imperial forces at Endor, he diverted huge amounts of materiel, personnel and resources into the Daedalus over the last 4 weeks. She should be close to completion upon our return in about 2 weeks...
Finally, fellow Pilots, you must remember above all else, that the Hammer was created for a glorious destiny...We shall help rebuild the Imperial Navy and strike a fatal blow to the Alliance for the destruction they have wraught on the New Order...
Serve the Emperor above all others..."
<The Wing Commander solemnly exits the Ready Room to the Bridge Com...Rear Admiral Shekinah, the newly appointed Operations Officer, dismisses the Wing...Only the sound of hollow footsteps could be heard exiting the room....>
XO/VA Renegade/CF-2/VSD Mon
TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE HAMMER, VIPER GROUP, DB AND THE HAMMER'S FIST
I am Vice Admiral Renegade, the new Executive Officer of the Hammer. Grand Admiral Ronin has asked me to be the new XO after V. Adm. Shawshank gave up his post to carry out further duties that the Emperor has assigned him.
Filling in V Adm. Shawshank's shoes will be hard to do as he was execellent in his duty as the XO. I only hope I am worthy of this honor.
My job is simple though, and that is to follow all orders of the Emperor, Lord Vader, and Grand Admiral Ronin. and, do my part to make the Hammer even better, through the contributions of ALL of you. I cannot do my job alone. I need the help of every Command Officer, Squad. Commanders, flight leaders and flight members and the fine contributions from the Advisors to the Hammer to be effective in my job.
I am strict but fair, and I do occasionally like to get out among the pilots and let my hair down--so to speak--what little I have left. I believe in having a little fun sometimes, but we must all remember that we are all officers in the Imperial Navy, we are members of the most Elite Strike Wing in the Imperial Navy, and representives of the Emperor. Lets conduct ourselves as such.
Please use the Chain-of-Command, but my door will always be open for special problems.
I will not give orders or make decisions with out the approval of GA Ronin. I will be working close to him in promoting the Hammer.
Lets all work togeather, and be proud of what we have accomplished, and improve on it.

Subj. VA Renegade.\Background check
Adm. Renegade is 42 years old, born on the planet-Earth, species-Human. Home world is still planet earth but keeps a residence on Byss, as a retreat when duties permit.
Renegade served 21 years in the service of his planets Defence forces, the U S Navy, and was medically retired after a severe crash of a rotory-wing craft. Adm. Renegade lost both legs and partial use of one arm in the accident.
He went through rehab successfully and applied to join the Imperial Navy and took his flight training in several sectors of the galaxy, having served with distinction in his duties, he applied to join the New Emperor's Hammer Strike Wing that the Emperor formed to rid the Empire of the Emperor's enemies. Adm. Renegade does not let his disablity stand in the way of his duties as an Imperial Naval Officer, and he prefers to think of himself as , not disabled but slowed down.
Adm. Renegade entered the Hammer as a General and started out as a Flight Member of Lambda-3, was promoted to Flight Leader of Lambda-3, then to Squadron Commander of Phi squadron. Upon the death of his wife, GN FoxyRoxy\EH Medical officer, Phi squadron was switched with Iota Squadron and placed aboard the TFC Roxanna, named in honor of his wife who gave her life in a rescue of Adm. Adm. Renegade served his squadron with honor, and was just recently promoted to the position of Executive Officer of The Emperor's Hammer strike Wing for his contributions to the Emperor's Hammer.
Adm. Renegade's home life consists of his 2 daughters, 3 step-daughters, a grandson, his cat and Goldfish. His hobbies include computers, Reading, Stock-car Racing and he loves to fly his Tie Defender during his duty hours.
He is in the inner circle of the secret order, and is an apprentice in the Dark Brotherhood. He is cleared to view ALL classified material, and has the highest security rating in the Imp. Navy.
This officer is a credit to the Emperor, the Imperial Navy and to the Hammer Strike Wing. The ISB feels that Grand Admiral Ronin made a wise choice in his placement of Adm. Renegade in his present duties.
Adm. Renegade has been wounded in battle 3 times, Two times when he was serving as a member of his Planetary Defense Forces, and once as a Pilot in the Hammer. He has several medals for bravery under fire, he served in Sea-Air Rescue and was awarded for Bronze Star for the rescue of 7 pilots, during the Earth's war against the Communists from the Vietnam sector. SUBJ: After Action report
Sir, I led Iota squad out on a flight to recon the Endor system, but when we went into Hyper drive toward the Endor system, we found out that someone on our maint. staff had sabatoged our Hyper-drive computers and we hypered to the wrong coordinates and right into the middle of a rebel training base.
The rebels were flying captured Imperial T-F's and T-B's plus their instructor was in a captured T-D. Iota squadron was attacked by no less than 9 or 10 full squadrons of T-F's and T-B's. Iota can account for 100 confirmed kills, while I chalked up 33 personal kills. The rebels kept coming at us with ship after ship.
I lost 2 fighters but my pilots were successfully rescued.
I can only contribute our success, over so many foes, to our superior fighters and the rebels being unfamilar with Imperial ships and tactics developed by the Hammer.
It was a real fur-ball out there sir, but IOTA squad is to be commended for their coolness under fire and devotion to the Emperor. We were outnumbered by 8 or 9 to one and we came out on top.
I feel that I am leading the best squadron in the Hammer. They deserve a special unit citation, for overcoming all odds.
I will conduct a further investigation into why our Hyper-drive computers were set to the wrong coordinates. I myself personally gave the coordniates to all pilots at our breifing and feed the coordniates into my computer and downloaded them to the rest of my squadron.
It was found that even though I fed the right coordinates into my computer, it still ignored them and sent my squad on the coordniates that had previously been fed in to it by party or parties unknown.
The TACT has my and the rest of my squadrons gun camera footage to review, and for possible distrubition to the rest of the Wing.
I will send another report when the results of my further investagation revel anything else to report.

Subj: Investigation of Sabotage to Hyper-drive Computers.
Sir, after further investigation into the sabatoge of Iota'squadrons problem with our Hyper-drive computers, I have arrested Hyper-drive tech. First Class Sal-mar and Chief Hyper-drive Tech. Roos.
Under interrogation by a Interrogation droid, I learned that both techs. have been recruited by the Rebel Alliance to do as much damage to our ships as possible. This investigation will no doubt lead to other arrests of rebel sabateurs, but I feel that we have the ringleaders in custody.
Both sabatours have been turned over to the ISB in hopes that they may give us more information on possible rebel sabateurs still working to undermine the authority of the Emperor.
May I ask, Sir, that you contact the ISB, to allow them to give me the 2 sabateurs to execute, when the ISB is finished with them. I want to make them pay for putting my squadron at such a risk, by sending us into a combat situation where we were out-numbered by 9 to 1.
They must pay for the insults they have given the Hammer and they must pay for the 2 MIS's I lost out of Flight-3. I thank the force for the successful rescue of GN Flint and GN Maverick, my 2 pilots who had to eject during our last mission.
Furthur reports will be forth-coming as more information is recieved.

General Jedgar Paladin
Commander
Tau Squadron, "The Dark Hand"
Emperor's Hammer Strike Wing
SSD Avenger
To the Officers and pilots of Tau Squadron, these standing orders are in effect until further
notice...
1) The same duties that apply to all other pilots of the Imperial Pilot Corps apply to you. Any infraction of the Rules and Customs for the Governance of the Naval Service will not be tolerated and will be met with the most severe possible repercussions. I don't want to seem like a hardass, but we must follow the rules.
2) In one piece is the preferable condition for bringing back your fighter. With the increased attacks of the Rebels and the questionable nature of our supply lines, it will take months to receive replacements.
3) The normal operating condition of this squadron is not "Snafu" (Situation Normal, All Fouled Up). I will become very upset if you should do anything to upset the smooth operations of the Squadron or the wing as a whole.
4) Accidental delivery of ordinance equipment (read "Bombing the wrong target") is frowned upon. As we are the only "pacification" squadron in the fleet, we must try to avoid collateral damage. If the Empire wanted to level a city, they would use a fleet or a strike squadron... we are used to avoid damage to important facilities.
5) When necessary for the completion of a mission, termination with extreme prejudice is authorized.
That is all. Thank you for your time. Nemo me impugne lacessit.

Tactics of starfighter combat
General Paladin
I am sure that this will not tell you anything that you do not already know, but take a look...
The recent developments in Imp. technology have mede it necessary for us of the Imperial Navy to rethink our tactics and methods. We can no longer just strive for a lucky shot before beeing blown to kingdom come by a Rebel... TIE's are no longer expendable, and T/A, T/D, and MIS are even less so.
General Tactics- Aside from the most obvious of all tactics, don't get killed, there are a few other important things to note. First of all, Alliance ships, as we all know, are very heavily shielded and are slow as an angry Taun-taun... so point number one is that we must be very careful not to crash into enemy ships, as this is not good for the hardware of an unshielded fighter. Point number two is that all rebel starfighters carry missiles. Though they are not as advanced as our own, it doesn't take much to blow a TIE out of space, and three missiles will trash a T/A.
A-Wings- The new Rebel A-Wing is FAST, FAST, FAST!!! The top speed of the A-W is 120 at normal levels, and as high as 180 at max engine level. Only the T/A and T/D are faster, and they're not by much (15 for the T/A, 25 for the T/D). Therefore, the tactics of Imperial Pilots against an enemy fighter of this speed should be swing and cling... That means get into line with the enemy fighter and stay on his tail... He can't shoot at what he can't see, and you're safe behind him. The tactics of the A-W will probably be to strafe you, use his speed to open up a space cushion, then strafe again. This is highly effective, so don't go head-on with this craft.
X-Wing- The Rebel X-Wing has a top speed of 100 and takes 15 laser hits to kill, or three standard missiles. The X-Wing is the most common Rebel craft. In an advanced fighter, the tactic to use is similar to that the A-W would use on us. In a T/D, you have almost a 55 speed advantage, the T/A, 45. Strafe the target, open up a gap and turn and do it again. This is not to say that is the Rebel lets you on his tail you shouldn't put a missile up it, as the Empire strives for efficiency.
Y-Wing- The Y-Wing has a top speed of eighty and takes 25 laser hits or four standard missiles to kill. The Y-Wing is the total opposite of the A-W. It is slow, but heavily armed. Once again, the best tactic is to strafe the target, as its slow speed makes it a hazard to crash into. I recomend using a missile on the Y-W before finishing it with lasers, as its shields are strong and it my take a while to destroy.
B-Wing- The B-Wing has a top speed of 90 and takes 43 laser hits or 7 missiles or 2 torpedoes to kill. The B-W is the biggest threat to our capital ships that the rebels have. A single B-W is capable of taking out a Frigate. Imagine what it could do to a fighter! The best tactic against this type of ship is undoubtedly to to slam the biggest warhead you've got up its intakes and watch the sparks fly. Otherwise, you must cling to the back of the target until he is destroyed.
Battle Priorities
When in combat, it is necessary to classify threats and take them out in order of importance. Here is how I classify threats by situation...
When Protecting a capital ship or freighter-
1)B-W
2)Y-W
3)X-W
4)A-W
When in ship to ship combat-
1)X-W
2)A-W
3)B-W
4)Y-W
When clearing fighter cover-
1)B-W
2)X-W
3)A-W
4)Y-W
A STORY BY GN PALADIN
Brigadier General Jedgar Paladin sat in his office onbard the SSD Avenger. A knock disturbed his careful calculations. "Come."
"Sir, there is a pilot here to see you," said his aide, a captain named Grengaus, "he says it's very important."
"See him in."
One of the TIE pilots assigned to the avenger, callsign "Kitch", walked in and saluted. Paladin knew little of the man other than that he was a Liutenant(j.g.) and was not assigned to the Hammer or to Tau Squadron specifically.
"What seems to be the problem?"
"Sir, there was a space pirate attack on my home planet recently."
"So?"
"My family was murdered, they think that the Rebels were responsible. The planet manufactures TIE parts"
"Yes..."
"I request a leave of absence and one of your squadrons missile boats. I want to go and seek revenge."
"A noble goal. Why, then, did you not take this to your squadron commander, or one of the other officers... In fact, why did you bring this to me at all? This is a definite violation of the chain of command..."
"Captain Corsairs, my squadron commander would not help. Also, you have two flights of MIS, one of which has no pilots. I also thought that as a member of the Dark Brotherhood, you would have an idea of how it feels to want revenge."
"Let me contact GA Ronin... This is a very irregular matter. Captain Grengaus, get me the Wing Commander."
"Aye, aye, sir."
A few minutes later, the Wing Commander himself came on to the holovid screen. "Brigadier Paladin, this better be important... I do not particularly like being disturbed."
"Sir, I have a pilot here that wants a leave of absence in order to kill rebels and seek revenge. I want to go with him. I request a leave in order to do so."
"Paladin, do realize that we are at this moment enroute to Endor at the order of the Emperor, himself. I can't let you go galavanting around the cosmos."
"I shall endeavour to make the mission a brief one. Go out, waste a few rebels and be back in time for that glop they call 'dinner' around here."
"Very well, you have two days. Rondevous with us at the prearranged cooridinates. Good luck"
"Thank you, sir," turning to the Lieutenant, he said "OK, let's go... you heard him, two days."
::One Day Later::
"Bogies at two o'clock"
"I got 'em Kitch, Cover me! FOR THE GLORY OF THE EMPIRE!" Paladin hit the throttle up to 100% and cut his laser rate. "I'm going to SLAM speed" He rolled left behind a X-wing before puting a concussion missile up his exhaust. "Scratch one rebel." Suddenly, more dots apperared on the threat screen. "I got Mon Cals littering the landscape... Lets get nasty." Ignoring the x-wings they moved toward the Mon Cal's... Laser flashes began to fill the void. One... two... three... four Mon Cals. Where's the escort? Oh, well. "Launch all ordinance..." Soon, eighty rockets... the complete load of two MIS were headed toward the Mon Cals. Three blew up, the fourth was heavily damaged, before the escort began to arrive. Five more concussion missiles finished off the last CRS. They then took out two corvettes and a frigate.
"I'm outa' missiles and rockets, sir."
"Me too... I think we better bug out. Set course for the Avenger"
With a flash, they were gone.

The Emperor had decided that I am not suited for XO work. He has personally informed me of this and has thought of a way to alleviate the situation. The position of Communications Officer has been created by the Wing Commander for this purpose.
COMM - Communications Officer
I, as the COMM, would try to recruit new members by way of newsgroups and other forms. I would keep track of an internet roster for use with the newsletters, and would recruit a couple people to help me (most likely other friends on internet).
I don't know what else to say... feel free to improvise...

A Clone war era Dreadnaught undergoing extensive repairs for a hull breach, including four Z-95 Headhunters, was detected and inspected in orbit over the planet. Inspection revealed the cause of damage to be from a collision and multiple turbo-laser blasts. Interrogation revealed the location of the wanted leader Atha Prime and his cloning facilities.
Apparently Havok was chasing Atha Prime and his Clone warriors near Gerbaud 2 and escaped destruction by vectoring his Modular Conveyor in a collision course with the Dreadnaught. Havok and his crew defeated the Clone warriors aboard the Dreadnaught but not before Atha Prime had entered hyperspace in an escape shuttle. In exchange for information the Empire paid for the repairs to the Dreadnaught and offered Havok a commision in the Imperial Navy. Havok agreed to the offer only if he would first be granted the opportunity to help catch Atha Prime. The Empire (by order of Emperor Palpatine) granted the wish of Havok.
