Battle For Telos
Although the Sovereign Pilots fought like lions, the end outcome was never in much doubt. Vastly outmanned and outgunned, the remaining Sovereign Fleet was destroyed to the last ship - but not without rending the heart out of the gathered Sith Fleet. The Sovereign team lost their only remaining capital ship, the ESC Elimintator, all 6 ATRs from Pirahna and their remaining Fighter Squadrons, numbering a total of 26 TIE Defenders.
The Sith Fleet suffered greivous losses for their victory - 31 TIE Advanced, 10 TIE Defenders and a single Assault Transport. But their core of Capital ships remained to capture the planet Telos.
In the single player results, the Sith team again proved the better by scoring the higher overall average (although the Sovereign team submitted scores for only TIE, the Sith TIE Average was still higher - 53 to 41).
So, having finally captured Telos, The Sith team has fulfilled the requirements for scoring a Major Victory. They have captured half the available planets and all the other teams are down to 20% of their starting strength or less - a fantastic achievement for a team that was pretty much dismissed at the start. The final Victory Point standings are:
Sith: 124
We had a total of eight battles fought. In the MP section, that meant two custom missions per platform per battle - a total of 32 custom missions built by an excellent and willing team at very short notice - thanks to Stele, Kate Flyer, Brukhar and Ender for their valued help.
In terms of participants, for the MP battles we had a total of 43 ships flown by TIE Corps & Dark Brotherhood Pilots (with duplicates). And for the SP phase, I received a total of 152 submissions. A great participation rate, I believe, in comparison to most contemporary competitions.
In terms of Fleet losses, the final tally show what was destroyed over the course of the 8 engagements:
TIE Defenders: 218
Medals
I have spoken with the Flight Officer and Operations Officer, and we have agreed upon the follow format for awarding medals for Imperial Storm participation:
Single Player Missions: All those pilots who took part in at least ONE mission will receive the Imperial Security Medal. All those pilots who took part in THREE or more missions will receive the Palpatine's Crescent. Those that scored the highest on their team per platform, will receive the Iron Star with Gold Wings. 2nd highest will get the IS w/ Silver Wings and Bronze Wings for 3rd place.
Multiplayer Missions: All those pilots who flew in at least ONE mission will receive the Imperial Security Medal. All those pilots who flew in THREE or more missions will receive the Palpatine's Crescent. Pilots on the losing team in a battle will receive the Legion of Combat x3. Pilots on the winning team will receive the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Beyond that, I have asked each Team Leader to submit a list to me for those people they think deserving of further rewards. The lists will be reviewed by myself and then passed on for recommendation. Assuming I get all the required information in good time, these will be processed over the next few days.
And finally a big thank you to all those who helped run and participate in this Imperial Storm - Cyric, Sarin, Yoda, Stuart, Bubba, Stele, TK-2107, Gidda, Gilad, Rapier, Andrijas, Jon "The Barber" Doyle, Neil "Down" Oldham, Predator, Mouse Droid...and of course the pilots themselves! (Sorry if I forgot anyone!)
