Odin Squadron WSR
Date: August 24th, 2005
Odin Squadron: 'Rolling Thunder'
Motto: I think, no wait I'm pretty sure there was more stuff I was
gonna write in this WSR, and I sure didn't intend to write it where the squadron
motto goes, but what the hey.

Introduction:
PHOENIX AND VORTEX SQUADRONS FLY
LIKE GIRLS
News:
- We have a new SL, everyone give a big hello to Marti Janson who's just joined
us from the Daedalus.
- Summer Patrol
2005 has started, the ASF has some submissions. hopefully some GW pilots
will make it to the end, although I suspect most people will.
- I've tried out EHSP 3.0, it mainly seems to be a graphical update of the
datapad. I don't like it, so I'm going to jury-rig it back to the old look,
I'll chuck up a how-to on doing that once I've done it.
- Frodo is planning on making some updates to how the battle database works.
One of the good ones is linking directly to the ship patches required for
each battle. Thank ##^$#$^ for that. There's nothing worse than flying a battle
without having read the briefing, readme or description and then having it
crash on you for seemingly no reason.
- WSR is early this week, I have stuff to do tommorrow, and possibly friday
as well.
- The Find Jaxon DeJaniker contest is still going, I reckon it is feasible,
although haven't made any progress this week.
- Oh... we have a new Wing Commander on the way, he's apparently from off
the ship, which means we can all treat him with scorn etc. No but really,
a Wing Commander would be good. I remember we had one once... ages ago...
those were the days.
- One last thing, I know I've never really done much to support the whole...
roleplaying thing and writing fan-fiction and whatever the heck in this squadron.
I don't know if any of you lot would rather see more of that.... chuck us
an email if you would like to see more of that stuff and less flying/GHORG
yelling in IRC.
- Speaking of which, if you ever want to get incriminating dirt on your CMDR,
#wingxiii irc.undernet.org is the best place.
- Have a look at this.. old Odin website from 2002 made by Kelh Old Odin site
Odin "To Do" List: Something
new, and in no particular order:
- Make the WSR less unsightly
- Get Reelo's joystick working
- Get WSR logo working
- Start FCHG comp vs Phoenix, or someone else.
- Find out what semi-planned old name for Odin FCHG comp was
- Fix WSR appearance in emailed html - done
- Find Jaxon
- Get email out of Alistair.
- put titles on WSR emails, not entirely sure who if anyone is reading all
the GOOD STUFF written in these, so I'm gonna start putting big titles on
to draw the punters in - done

Squadron Wrap-up:
I know I was going to write-up something about how we need to sort the ship
out this WSR... but I've kind of left it a bit late. All I can say is we need
to make a bigger presence of ourselves in the fleet.
Hmmm, that was vague. Maybe a new WC will sort things out.
