2-year plan status
We are getting a little shaky here. Web sites are so-so (flight 3 needs work and the main one still has a couple of issues) Activity is hopefully going tompick up now that the summer is over.

This week in Alpha
First off, I recieved this from our XO:

I'm afraid I may be a little late with the squadron report and the reflying of those missions. Sometime Sunday morning my nice new graphics card decided to fry itself and my monitor )-: Which means I can't see anything on my PC until I get the card replaced. I'm going to try rigging around it via the network we have but I'm not sure if it will come off.

This is not a problem. Please see Rant section.

Lieutenant Neale has flown several battles and missions! Welcome back!

Jenn Sidhe is on the "Participate as she may" list. Alphas must read the intro to this in the e-mail to understand.

Squadron Orders
All wings report in!!!! You have until Friday, September 2nd at 2359 Eastern Time in the US to do so! The following have an excuse as to why they might not:
Jenn Sidhe
Kahooli
Reiss has until the 5th to report in (That is Monday Morning 1 week from tomorrow). This is his status update deadline. All others, Report In!!!!!!!!!!!

Squadron Concerns
We have a lack of communication. I understand that everyone is just getting back from vacations, reprieves, and trying not to get crushed by the everyday work life. However, I do not expect this to continue for more than maybe a couple of more weeks at the most. I want to see a bit of chatter here in our message forum, our message boartds, and our Wing forums. Alpha made a sudden comeback and I want to see it continue as soon as possible for the glory and honour of what we once were. We are on track and doing well. But we need to step it up a bit. I know that 2 members of the squadron are very busy with RL but they try to find time to at least say hello. Jenn is working hard in her managerial level position and Kahooli is in Afganistan serving for the US Armed Forces. These two alone have a complete exemption status. The rest of us (me included) have to show what Alpha is made of. Gunny, Cube, and Praetor (Neale) are doing thier best to make things work. I am trying to uphold the position of CMDR and lead all of you. I have my short comings and I can do more (I just need to figure out where my joystick is).

Competitions
Our 3-way fight for Epsilon's Lounge is on again. Dertails to be released later.

Run-on/Story
I unfortunately erased the Wing messages about Epsilon's return. However, I have gone to the archives and retrieved them (Edited for postings): Contributers: Talons Pryde, Rancorous, and Firzam Coldsteel (in that order)

Talons looked around the corner and saw a familiar face moving his gear into an office. Chuckling to himself, he zipped around the corner, ignighted his lightsabre, and shouted, "Halt!"

Epsilon's CMDR spun, dropped his gear, and crossed his eyes to focus on the tip of the purplish glowing blade. His eyes grew wide as he saw Talons' face . The grin was wide and warm. "Welcome home, Silencer!"

Putting his blade away, Talons vigorously shook the returning commander's hand.

CM Coldsteel released the Majors hand and stepped into his office, glancing at the all too familiar items he had left behind. He stepped up to his desk and ran a finger approvingly over the freshly polished surface. "No dust, just how I left it" he remarked and sat down into his favourite office chair.

"Ahhhh" he sighed in pleasure as he sank into the well worn leather,

RAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, he leapt up in horror as the sound of a Rancor Monster breaking wind erupted about the office. Stunned ,he looked back at his chair to see a small metal disk in the center of the seat. As he watched a little blue light twinkled on the top and a small holographic display blinked into view.

He looked at it as miniature explosions flickered like fireworks across the 'sky' and an XM-1 drifted across the image towing a banner...

"Welcome Back CM Firzam Coldsteel To Wing I, From Alpha Flight II.....Now the fun begins!"
....it read.

CM Coldsteel picked up the disk as the image faded and tossed it to MAJ Talons Pryde who was stood in the doorway stifling a laugh.

"You will have to excuse him", Talons chortled, "he is new"

"Well, Well" CM Coldsteel said, passing an arm around Talons shoulders. "Maybe you'll want to teach him some manners" he said, laughing; "But now I would like to see your lightsaber, you know, I have a knack with this things; I once make CM Conker lightsaber to pop up popcorns from the hilt instead of that beautiful and menacing stream of laser..."

"You touch my lightsaber and I will show you what that stream of laser can do to a human skull!" Talon replied.

Both men laughed.

"All right! All right! Better go to the cantina, I want to drink something to stop the dry out of my mouth. That Rancor was something... Let's go. One sim game, loser pays the first round" Coldsteel said.

"Very well then. And while we [are] there I have some plans you will want to hear..." Talon remarked.

And so it begins...

Commander's Rant
Okay. As I have stated before, we have a communication problem. We have 2 inactive pilots with no excuse. Well, one is a bit busy with costuming. This is understandable, but a note every once in a while would be nice. The other has been a TC member for a month and has done [explicitives]! There are many ways to participate. I have outline these things on several occasions and have explained them in welcoming letters, quick notes, attachments and who the phrick knows what else. This is getting to be a bit of an annoyance. All I have ever asked for is communications. This alone will stop the annoying rants that very few read but it makes me feel one hell of a lot better. The first bquestion is"If you wanted to be in the TC to have fun, what are you wanting to put into it?" and the seconds begs "So why have you not done this?" It is very annoying to see a Sub-lieutenant on the books for a solid month after arriving. This reflects bad on me and in turn reflects bad on the squadron. I have old grizzled veterans whom are probably sitting with stogies around the cantina table swapping war stories about the good old days where we all were just starting out. And then we have young bloods whom say they are going to get out there and kick some serious tail but who do not for some reason or another. Most of us are Captain and up. That is 5 of us. We earned the right to sit and watch. I am one of those. I could just throw down a pillow and recline all the phrick day long. But do I? Hell fracking no! I try to keep an eye out for new ways to bring the squadron out of its hole and become a whole! I actually sit down and brainstorm for new ideas for us to do. What do I get for my efforts? Jack [explicitive] [explicitive]! Of the four LT's, I have one who is trying to be active, one who is dealing with a new school and family problems yet looking for a way to be there, one who has said absolutely nothing since getting here except the initial "Hello" and one who actually deserves to be a Commander in rank because of his steadfast activity. I have a simple question I want answered: What the [explicitive]?!?? I am a 37 year old whom has had back surgery to fix a disk in the L5-S1 location. This makes it a bit difficult sometimes to fly, However, I am getting better at sitting for long periods of time in from of the computer playing games. I can now even play a string of missions in MechWarrior 3 and 4 without much difficulty. This has been a year since the surgery. I do not pretend to say my life is the worst of anyone's out there but for the love of the gods, COMMUNICATE with me if you are having problems. Tell me and then tell the wing. But [explicitive] tell me and your flight leader first! I want activity from each of you in the coming week -- even if it is to write a poem titled "My Commander's a(n) [explicitive]"! I busted my tail to bring Alpha back and got cut a few lucky breaks! But face it -- it is all for naught if we do nothing!

Final Words
We are Jaded Hearts! And we are Silencers! And we are the First Squadron of the First Wing of the Flagship of the Emperor's Hammer! We may not be elite, but they say that all things have an alpha and omega. We are Alpha -- the beginning -- and we have Omega -- the end! Omega is Elite and we should be able to match them in our own way! I pride us as a command training squadron where the elite are taught and become the leaders of the next generation. Not only in the EH but in RL. We have young people here from all over the world. Alpha is my home and here I will stay even if it means I can never be promoted again to a higher rank. I belong here in Alpha. And I take a great amount pride in what we in Alpha do -- especially when they make command positions and earn elite assignment. When my pilots (that is you) get promoted, earn a high score, or accomplish something, I shout it out to all the world. I feel deeply about this squadron and I get frustrated when things get sticky. Thus the rants. But I will say this over and over again, I will fight for your accomplishments to be recognized, argue for things I feel you deserve and will shield you from crap from above. At the same time, I will come down hard as hell when you screw up. I have an open door policy and I will help where I can both here and in RL.

With all respect,

Major Talons Pryde, Alpha Squadron commander of Wing I on board the Sovereign class SuperStar Destroyer Sovereign, reporting.
