TIE DEFENDER TAC
FCHG comp battle: Developing
Cyclone RPG with Marlin:
The Interdictor Orthanc had dropped out of space, and a TIE Defender
had emerged from the belly of the Chi Long. Kate had no doubt that
Keirdagh was in that fighter - She put as much energy from her shields
into her engines as she could as she sped toward her target. The rest
of the battle fell away as she approached Keirdagh's TIE Defender,
all of her attention focused squarely on the murderer.
But then it was too late - He had escaped into the Orthanc

Commander Flyer, Cyclone 1-1
Hiyo Cyclone
and Wing X and everybody. =P It's been another successful week for
Cyclone Squadron. MSE medals are in, we've flown our Summer Patrol
missions and we continue to work on getting our citations count up.
This is the fairly lazy period of time before the end of the summer,
so I'm glad to see that we've managed to keep busy. My big focus for
September is the forthcoming ECR and SSL competitions, which I fully
expect Cyclone to excel in. For my part, I'll be spending the next
part of the week moving, so I can't say that I'll be that active.
But I will do my best to keep the website updated while flying my
summer patrol mission. With luck, it'll be a painless move. =) And
now on to the news.
- Congratulations to Commander Alex
Shrike, who takes up a well-deserved spot at 2-1 as Cyclone
Squadron's new XO! Domi has graciously stepped down to 1-3, offering
his sage advice to a still newbie commander. =P Nice job also to Blenheim,
who has done a nice job as acting-FL in
Marlin's absence. Rewards forthcoming for him.
- Lt. Phelan has shown the whole initiative thing and started a new
runon on the Cyclone message board detailing what happened when our
little squadron was reopened. Shrike and I have developed a fun plotline
to go along with it describing the recruitment of Fink and how Shrike
got his name, among other things. Fun times. ^^
- Citations are Cyclone's top priority. :P Fly your citations assignments
for the week, and I recommend you for an ISM. It's just that simple.
Fly all of them for the month, and I'll talk to Cor about getting
you a PC. Congratulations to Shrike and Blenheim, who flew their missions
like good 'Cloners. Yay for them!
- Cyclone Squadron is the ISD Challenge Squadron of the Month! And
apparently we've been SotM since last June! Whoohoo!
- Kappa vs Cyclone fiction results are in, and I have again been foiled
by Shmir Sheerelk of Kappa Squadron. This has prompted me to take
a hard look at my own writing in an effort to get better. =P Congrats
to Shmir, who takes home a well-deserved win (three in a row for him),
and thanks for the kind words on his part.
- Wing X meetings
are 6:00 EST on Sundays in #wing_x. Join us for amusing trivia and
news from around the fleet.
- Go to http://ehtiecorps.org
or http://www.emperorshammer.org
for the newest fleet news.
- Cyclone Trivia
Each week, I will be sending out a set of trivia questions to the mailing
list. Answer as many correctly as you can, win a prize at the end of
the month if you answer the most. This competition is temporarily suspended
because I'm just that lazy.
- JAG
Banner Competition
Fleetwide competition to create a new banner for the JAG Office. Winner
gets an IS-PR. Entries are due Sept. 1.
Want an IS-GW? Then fly the assigned number of missions for the "Training
Officer's Patrol" for five weeks straight! Easy, huh? I expect
high Cyclone participation for this one, since we are (after all)
the best and most active squadron in the Wing. Let's go!

Every week, I select a pilot who's high activity and excellence served
as an example for all Cyclone pilots. The selected pilot earns an
IS-BR at the end of the month, and their profile is enshrined for
the week on the Cyclone Squadron website.
Congratulations
to Lt. Blenheim, who
narrowly edges our newly appointed XO for his first solo pilot of
the week reward. I've been quite proud of Blenheim these past two
weeks, as he has reemerged to suddenly become one of Cyclone's best
and most active pilots! Nice work Blenheim! =) - Standings are Shrike
- 3; Blenheim - 2; Fink - 1; Erinyes - 1
